However, I have to say that our experience was nothing like those reviews. We had a great experience from start to finish. What makes this place even better is that it is more than just a steakhouse. They have a great bourbon and whiskey selection, a really cool Western atmosphere, live music, and a dance floor. It has a fun, lively feel that makes it a great place to enjoy a meal and then stick around for the rest of the evening. The staff were friendly, and the entire experience was excellent. If you enjoy great steaks, good bourbon, and a fun Western atmosphere, I highly recommend stopping by the Western Horseman Club. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Amarillo!

He suggested we meet here after his shift ended. A stellar start to the night already, right? Anyways, we stroll in and are the only two girls in the place. This bar is a trucker bar so it's frequented by, well, truckers. I'm not sure whether it was the sheer novelty or maybe we were already tanked from dinner but the night here was a highlight of my life. We spent hours drinking with some old guys and hearing their awesome stories of being on the road. The people are genuinely kind, outgoing, and the bartender pours em strong. Bless her heart. The area I ordered from had a line, and I always got an ice cold beer, so I was happy. Only thing is, I was here specifically for karaoke. First, the (minor) dings: the area is literally in a back room, kinda cramped. No big deal. The acoustics aren't great, but again, I've been to worse! Long rotation? Well, yeah. Unfortunately, you have to sign up on a yellow tablet. Get over it, lots of people want to sing, and I had a blast when I did. My big problem was the KJ announcing on the mic that if you want to be "moved up" in the list, it would take a $20 tip. That's a bit much. I say this as someone who hosted for 13 years in Austin, TX. I've never heard of a host doing this, which knocks my rating down. Would I return? Probably, but I'll just get there earlier!

DJs tend to play anything from contemporary hiphop, old school (90's-2000's) hiphop, and some Latin music. They always know what to play to get the crowd moving. 5/5.

The cocktails were excellent and the food was delicious. I ordered the Pecan Goldie, served in a martini glass--a sweeter take on an Old Fashioned. Next was the Bomb City Cosmo, another refreshing cocktail also served in a martini glass. We ordered appetizers and dinner, and everything was great. The menu comes from Toscana Italian restaurant upstairs, and we enjoyed every dish. For appetizers, we had the spinach artichoke dip and pretzel bites--very creamy, and the pretzel bites were warm and delicious. We also tried two salads: the BLT Wedge Salad and the Shaved Brussels Sprout Parmesan Salad. Both were hearty and very filling. We finished with the chocolate pistachio cake, which was a delightful dessert. Happy Hour: Their website advertises $6 liquor Monday through Friday from 5-7 PM. However, the bartender didn't seem to honor it, saying happy hour is upstairs--though that's not what the website states. He did make it right by charging only for two drinks, which equaled the price of the three drinks that should have been on happy hour. Hopefully they begin honoring the posted happy hour pricing.
