No-frills decor, TVs with sports on and a bar with stools on one end, and ordering space at the other. I've seen mention of the bartenders being rude. Correction, I think, they are BUSY! The area I ordered from had a line, and I always got an ice cold beer, so I was happy. Only thing is, I was here specifically for karaoke. First, the (minor) dings: the area is literally in a back room, kinda cramped. No big deal. The acoustics aren't great, but again, I've been to worse! Long rotation? Well, yeah. Unfortunately, you have to sign up on a yellow tablet. Get over it, lots of people want to sing, and I had a blast when I did. My big problem was the KJ announcing on the mic that if you want to be "moved up" in the list, it would take a $20 tip. That's a bit much. I say this as someone who hosted for 13 years in Austin, TX. I've never heard of a host doing this, which knocks my rating down. Would I return? Probably, but I'll just get there earlier!

That should have been my first warning about this place. It's a cute bar but they are dishonest about their prices. The white wine I asked for was $9 on the menu. When I asked my server when I got the first bill I thought happy hour was going on she said " It might be applied to just our house wines." Then, when I pointed out there was a discrepancy on the menu vs. the first bill I received she looked at it and said " Well that might be because the register automatically just applied that charge to the bill". I ended up paying for the happy hour payment after all. It just seems sketchy she hiked up the price for one glass of wine.

The cocktails were excellent and the food was delicious. I ordered the Pecan Goldie, served in a martini glass--a sweeter take on an Old Fashioned. Next was the Bomb City Cosmo, another refreshing cocktail also served in a martini glass. We ordered appetizers and dinner, and everything was great. The menu comes from Toscana Italian restaurant upstairs, and we enjoyed every dish. For appetizers, we had the spinach artichoke dip and pretzel bites--very creamy, and the pretzel bites were warm and delicious. We also tried two salads: the BLT Wedge Salad and the Shaved Brussels Sprout Parmesan Salad. Both were hearty and very filling. We finished with the chocolate pistachio cake, which was a delightful dessert. Happy Hour: Their website advertises $6 liquor Monday through Friday from 5-7 PM. However, the bartender didn't seem to honor it, saying happy hour is upstairs--though that's not what the website states. He did make it right by charging only for two drinks, which equaled the price of the three drinks that should have been on happy hour. Hopefully they begin honoring the posted happy hour pricing. Overall, this was an excellent experience, and I look forward to returning. Evelyn, our server, was very attentive and kind throughout our visit.

The cocktails were well-crafted and unique, and the menu had a nice variety of options. Service was a little on the slow side. The only real disappointment was that the "library" area was closed -- I had heard such great things about it, so it would've been fun to experience that part of the place too.
