Stuffed chicken 10/10

The only thing this place is missing is a good steakhouse burger! Service is always prompt and thorough. Great music and nice layout with a patio

X-steakhouse is amazing. The prime rib is perfect. Loved my salad. The cheese sticks were yummy. Wife had cream corn as a side and said it was really good. The wait staff are very nice!

Pecan smoked old fashion with Four Roses

First time there and wasn't impressed. We had a reservation but had to wait for seating due to several large parties. Then waitress wasn't very attentive. Old fashion was good. Food was ok. The zucchini appetizers were the best thing we ate. I had to ask twice for dessert menus the. By the time we got one we were ready to just leave. Not a great birthday dinner for my hubby.

Blackened Redfish Dinner, cream spinach, potatoe casserole

Reason for visiting: Recommended while on a business trip. Day & Time: Wednesday around 5pm Party of: 2 ( my coworker and I) Reservations: Yes on opentable Waiter: Took longer than usual to start waiting on us but once he did he was awesome. Gave recommendations, boxed my appetizer, and prompt. Food Order: -Appetizer: Stuffed shrimp jalapeño with came with fried onion straws. These were SPICY!!! Still tasty. I wish they were smaller. Fried breading was falling of when I cut into them. -Drink: House Margarita. They have a 4 dollar happy hour special on these and a selection of other cocktails from 4-6pm. These were in short glasses with tons of ice. Very sweet. I could not taste the tequila (if there was any). You get what you pay for. -Entree: Redfish with cream of spinach and potato casserole. The redfish was the BEST thing on the plate. It was well seasoned. The cream of spinach lacked salt. The potato casserole was actually mashed potatoes but I wasn't disappointed since I like mashed potatoes. The potatoes were average. Extras: We got roles for the table that were good. Conclusion: Overall the food I ordered was okay. Not dying to go back but not upset that I went. It's a steakhouse so let's be real the best thing to get would probably be the steak. I'd say that the atmosphere was nice and would be good for a date night.

12 oz ribeye, mixed veggies, and wild rice

We had an early dinner at X-Steakhouse. The restaurant was clean and modern looking. Our waiter had such a fun personality and really made our dinning experience wonderful. I wish I knew his name. I was with several jokers and he went along with the jokes happily and joked back while still being professional. The food was delicious. I had a ribeye with mixed veggies and wild rice. I would absolutely recommend all of it again. Everyone else enjoyed their food a lot too. Steaks all around and everyone's steak was cooked perfectly. I would definitely go back if I'm in the area.

Oak smoked old fashioned.

Solid steakhouse. Friendly waitstaff and a nice ambiance to the place. Had the prime rib, steak was cooked perfectly and the horseradish was the best I've ever had. The wine list is challenging in that it doesn't actually describe any wine other than a few styles in a few names. Jalapeño appetizers were not great, jalapeños tasted almost pickled. Sides and apple cobbler desert were fantastic. Had a smoked old fashioned as well, very good. Thanks. Probably be back.

Service and food was good! Crab sack was really good and it seems like we can always get a good steak!

Not great. It was ok and probably won't be back. Service was decent. Was just not impressed with the food for the price.

Great steak in an upscale atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. I had the filet and it was cooked to perfection.

Located on the west side of Amarillo, Pondaseta's black brick building is sharp and modern for an older city like the Yellow City. Inside, there are two large spaces. One is where they brew all of their beers and it also functions as a space for music and guests. The main space is their taproom, where the back wall features a row of taps with all of their in house beers. There was a duo playing music in the other room, and there was a few other groups there. We played a very competitive game of Go Fish and really enjoyed the space there. For my first beer, I ordered the Mind The Gap, which was a bitter in an English pub style. I love a malty beer and it reminded me of some of my favorites. My girlfriend got a Pecan Porter that she really liked. It was dark and roasty. My next beer was their Tea Pilsner, which I never knew was a style of beer. This one was infused with hibiscus tea and I thought it was good. My girlfriend got their cherry lime seltzer. Not for me, but she enjoyed it. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Amarillo based on how great the drinks were. Thank you, Pondaseta. I don't buy liquor that often but I love the spiced eggnog. They had the one that I have bought the past few years at Party Stop but at Party Stop it was $9.99. I don't know if it has gone up in price this year. In Pinkies I saw a bottle with no price anywhere near it so I asked a clerk and was told it was $17.99 so I passed. I walked around for 5 or 10 minutes scouting out the territory. I saw a bottle of Ouzo so I asked that clerk if day by any chance carried Retsina, a Greek wine. I really wasn't expecting them to have it but the girl did look it up and told me none of the local locations had it but she saw signs that they had had it in the past. Darn it! I asked her how long ago and she said she didn't see any sign that they had carried it for the last couple of years which means I could have come in prior to that and they might have had it. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. I have not found it anywhere in town although the choices are limited since the only stores that sell liquor are the designated liquor stores. I did happen on to some Manischewitz and Morgan David brands of wine so I bought a bottle of Morgan David blackberry for $5. The store is prices seemed on the high side so I probably won't go back unless I'm looking for something specific that I can't find anywhere else.

Come in, swing by the cigarette machine before you find your way to a creaky leather chair and let the years begin to wind backward. Drink after drink winding the hands of the clock further and further back while Don Henley drips through the old wall mounted speakers like sap from an old tree. Perhaps it's the warmth of a friendly bar tender, or the strange greeting of a local stranger- but suddenly Polly's is home. Dare I say it- you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. Five effing stars.
