One of the biggest surprises of the night was the beer sampler featuring their 10 most popular house brews. Every pour had its own personality, and it was a fantastic way to experience the brewery. If you enjoy craft beer, don't skip the sampler! Beyond the food, the lively Western atmosphere, cowboy décor, live entertainment, and watching brave diners tackle the famous 72-ounce steak challenge made the evening genuinely entertaining. It's touristy in the best possible way--fun, memorable, and unapologetically Texan. We left full, happy, and glad we made the stop. The area I ordered from had a line, and I always got an ice cold beer, so I was happy. Only thing is, I was here specifically for karaoke. First, the (minor) dings: the area is literally in a back room, kinda cramped. No big deal. The acoustics aren't great, but again, I've been to worse! Long rotation? Well, yeah. Unfortunately, you have to sign up on a yellow tablet. Get over it, lots of people want to sing, and I had a blast when I did. My big problem was the KJ announcing on the mic that if you want to be "moved up" in the list, it would take a $20 tip. That's a bit much. I say this as someone who hosted for 13 years in Austin, TX. I've never heard of a host doing this, which knocks my rating down. Would I return? Probably, but I'll just get there earlier!

I just prefer someplace I feel like I can relax a little bit and just enjoy the company of friends. I never really feel that way at Rumors. Definitely an eclectic crowd though. You get gutter hippies and frat boys sharing tables pretty much here and only here. They have a great bourbon and whiskey selection, a really cool Western atmosphere, live music, and a dance floor. Then, when I pointed out there was a discrepancy on the menu vs. the first bill I received she looked at it and said " Well that might be because the register automatically just applied that charge to the bill". The cocktails were excellent and the food was delicious. I ordered the Pecan Goldie, served in a martini glass--a sweeter take on an Old Fashioned. Next was the Bomb City Cosmo, another refreshing cocktail also served in a martini glass. We ordered appetizers and dinner, and everything was great. The menu comes from Toscana Italian restaurant upstairs, and we enjoyed every dish. For appetizers, we had the spinach artichoke dip and pretzel bites--very creamy, and the pretzel bites were warm and delicious. We also tried two salads: the BLT Wedge Salad and the Shaved Brussels Sprout Parmesan Salad. Both were hearty and very filling. We finished with the chocolate pistachio cake, which was a delightful dessert. Happy Hour: Their website advertises $6 liquor Monday through Friday from 5-7 PM. However, the bartender didn't seem to honor it, saying happy hour is upstairs--though that's not what the website states. He did make it right by charging only for two drinks, which equaled the price of the three drinks that should have been on happy hour. Hopefully they begin honoring the posted happy hour pricing.
