The vibe is awesome. The staff is fantastic. Both non-alcoholic cocktails and boozy cocktails are tasty. Also the Green Chili Cheeseburger is to die for!!! Also, for dessert you have to try the blackberry cobbler w/ vanilla scoop

I was passing through Amarillo again so went to Route 66 to show my daughter. We were hungry so stopped here to eat. Had to say I was disappointed the name had nothing to do with BBQ to be honest. Service was amazing but the food was just ok. Typical bar food you find almost anywhere and really nothing to write home about. They did at least have an A rating from the health inspector.

WOW wouldn't it be awesome if every restaurant and bar had directives like this!

Great burgers and service is friendly and fast. We hadn't been here in a couple years and gotta tell you the vibe is uptown 70's-80's. Love it!

-Smokey Joe Burger -Fried Mushrooms -Patty Melt We came in for lunch on a Monday so it wasn't busy. Nevertheless it was excellent. The Smokey Joe's Burger is so delicious. It is a bit messy but not totally sloppy. My wife had a Patty Melt and it was awesome with their big toast. The fried mushrooms as a starter were great. They reminded me of going out to the drive-in as a kid. And the fries are excellent. Little shoestrings with the skins still on. Oh so good

This is a dope spot on 6th street with burgers and bbq(kinda). There's outdoor seating that provides a direct view of 6th street and on the weekends they have live bands that perform. The burgers are greasy and thick, like they should be! The onion rings are bomb too! If you like peach cobbler, the one here with ice cream is a winner! Service always caries depending on the time of day (a bit slower during the lunch hour) and the server, but never anything to complain about. Moreso just something to consider if you're in a rush.

This place has amazing food!!! The burgers are great and they are famous for their chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy! They have live music 7 days a week. The owners and staff are amazing! Especially Linda so ask for her!!!

Excellent food, chicken fried steak is the best I have ever had. One con though, the parking sucks because of the bad location.

Service was great. Chicken fried steak tasted old. The place seemed more like a bar/hang out area than a place to go for good food.

You order food at the register and then sit down, so when you order a dessert, they can put a little note to serve it to you at the end. Speaking of dessert, that pecan cobbler ala mode smacks! The perfect ending to a delicious meal. The meat is so tender and falls off the bone. You don't need a knife to cut anything. A plastic knife will do the job easily. They say the brisket is the star of the show and I can attest to that. However, the turkey is the runner up. I don't know what they do to that Turkey, but my husband and I might have to grab more to take home with us tomorrow. They were so nice too because we ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs and they ran out, so we got the last of the ribs. The also doubled all our meats! We wound up getting 1/2 a lb of turkey and 1 lb of brisket! We are going to be eating some good sandwiches for the next few days. We definitely plan on coming back the next time we are in Amarillo. If you're in the area, definitely come in and grab a bite! They also have plenty of choices in beer too.

My first time here, the Tootum Gas Station is CLEAN, I think this is a really good alternative for truck drivers if they are willing to forgoe taking a break at Petro or even Pilot. I wanted Protein today, was almost inching on parking my rig at the Big Texan again to get myself some steak, but I quickly opted for Mitch's BBQ Texas Style off the exit 75 in Amarillo Texas. Service is fast, lady and elder gentleman were super nice. Food overall no complaints, great brisket. Albeit a bit cold, but decent pork ribs, pretty good Johnsonville*ish polish sausage with cheddar jalapeno. I'd say for value this would beat any Dickeys BBQ located in California with a huge tray of food coming out under 28.00. Think I found my new spot to take a breather in Northern Panhandle Texas. Makes me want to rewatch the Yellowstone series because everyone in there was dressed like the Duttons.

I was just looking for a quick bite before hitting the road again, and the Yelp reviews didn't steer me wrong. I ordered the four-piece combo: two ribs, two chicken tenders, waffle fries, and a drink. Everything was served hot and fresh. The barbecue sauce was solid, nice flavor without being overpowering. The ribs were decent, and the chicken tenders were cooked perfectly, though the breading was way too spicy for me (I ended up peeling it off and still enjoyed the chicken inside). Waffle fries were crispy and satisfying, and the price felt fair for the portion. Nothing fancy--again, gas station--but definitely better than expected. Would I go out of my way for it? Probably not. But for a quick, hot meal on the road? It hit the spot.

It's just my favorite food!(after Maine lobster, of course ) She said Wesley's had the best bbq in town. Of course, we had to try it. It was quite a way from our hotel. 9 miles, but well worth it! I had the small rib plate. 3 meaty smokey ribs so tender the meat came right off the bone. With the sweet hickory bbq sauce adding just the right flavor, I was sold. The pinto beans were cooked just right. The cole slaw is the type I like, not over mayonnaised and not too sweet. Crunchy cabbage. There were 7 of us, and everyone cleaned their plate! The bonus was a young singer, Nelson mckinney entertained us with his wonderful voice and guitar playing. This is a don't miss place to eat if you are in Amarillo.
