It's a fun little spot you wouldn't know about unless you had heard about it from other people or looked it up. Everyone is so friendly when you walk in and very thoughtful. You order food at the register and then sit down, so when you order a dessert, they can put a little note to serve it to you at the end. Speaking of dessert, that pecan cobbler ala mode smacks! The perfect ending to a delicious meal. The meat is so tender and falls off the bone. You don't need a knife to cut anything. A plastic knife will do the job easily. They say the brisket is the star of the show and I can attest to that. However, the turkey is the runner up. I don't know what they do to that Turkey, but my husband and I might have to grab more to take home with us tomorrow. They were so nice too because we ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs and they ran out, so we got the last of the ribs. The also doubled all our meats! We wound up getting 1/2 a lb of turkey and 1 lb of brisket! We are going to be eating some good sandwiches for the next few days. We definitely plan on coming back the next time we are in Amarillo. I was on a camping trip last week with my next stop being south of Amarillo, Texas. I needed some Texas BBQ for the first time in my life! It was my first time in the lone star state. Not only did Pork N Things BBQ not disappoint, they highly impressed!! The food was phenomenal!! The service was solid as well. I was greeted upon entry and shown the ropes per say. I ordered my lunch plate, everything here is a la carte. The brisket sandwich was unbelievably tender and smokey deliciousness!! The bun was super fresh and soft. The ribs are fall off the bone style and taste superb. Brunt ends were really good as well, everything BBQ here was top notch!! The bread pudding was so-so. My only ding, but I was here for the BBQ and left with it too!!! I ordered a half rack of ribs, a pound of chopped brisket and pound of burnt ends to-go...you know what they say, when in Rome!! I don't think a place did you feel more secret than this one does. I'm a deserted road with the closest thing nearby being a truck stop, on the edge of more or less nothing.. it's not the place you would expect to find some of the best barbecue around. Or maybe it's the perfect place to. I'm going to have to eventually come back and try this again and try some of the brisket. The ribs are some of the best I've had! Heck to the yes I am excited to write this review...! Thanks to Yelp & EVEN google this place was a recommended hidden gem, and boy were the reviews right! The atmosphere felt so local; we got lucky and came on a Sunday where they were playing music, which is from 4-7pm, SO CUTE! And if you were to combine the tortilla with some brisket, bbq sauce (either reg or spicy) and some pickles!? Just genius of them to think of. The sausage was juicy and flavorful! Big WOW! I've never had hush puppies before, but these were incredible. i was not a fan of the sauce that came with it though (which was a raspberry flavor i believe) but im sure other's like it! The mac and cheese wasn't too watery or too dry. JUST RIGHT! My mother got the pork sandwich and she really enjoyed it! i didn't try the sandwich, I just tried the meat, and if you are a person who likes pork, then you would for sure like their quality of meat with the pork and honestly, in general. When I walked in the door, I knew this is my kind of place and I had to spread the word! I was warmly greeted by both the staff, and other customers. I love the decor. Plenty of room for wheelchair accessibility. The food was outstanding. The meat just falls off the bone. Great flavor and spices were used. We were welcomed in, and ordered a fantastic spread of ribs, brisket, smoked turkey, mac n cheese, fries, and fried pickles! All four of us, including the kids loved our meal. For anybody who thinks that you will walk into any old BBQ joint in Texas and it will be good, this place proves the contrary. I ordered ribs, burnt ends, brisket, and links. Without exception, and I can say this about everything I had, this is about as bad as you can get. Dry as a bone, no smoke ring, no smoke taste... I'm not sure that this stuff ever saw a smoker... My guess would be no, but if it did, it was long before it was re-heated multiple times to the point where anything remotely BBQ-like about it had disappeared. The only thing that made the few bites of each item I had remotely edible was, gasp, the sauce. This is TEXAS folks! Land "sauce is for heathens," people who have no respect for BBQ. Oh, and the potato salad was completely unseasoned and tasteless. The only thing that was borderline edible was the coleslaw, and it wasn't great. Well, forty dollars down--yes, that was $40 for one not particularly large box--and I now have a winner. Mind you, I'm not talking about Arby's or some fast food joint that sells fake smoked meats. No, this is regarding places that advertise themselves as real pit BBQ. So in that category, of all the places that I have been, and it's close to a hundred at this point, this ranks among the very worst--bottom two or three. So the people are nice (service), and the place has a kind of nice divey vibe (ambiance). But the food is terrible... which also reminds me not to trust Yelp. You have been warned. read more

Hidden goldmine! Was looking for a place near our night stay in hotel off Rt 335 & I-40, read reviews and decided to come! Waitstaff asked if it was our first time in and immediately had suggestions to help us order. We got to speak to the owner and his wife, she was our bartender. We were traveling from Oregon and they gave us great advance for where to get groceries. There was an expected wind storm and the owners advice to get on the road early really saved us.
