Of course that was for dessert.. but to start for lunch, I ordered the house taco selection which comes with 4 tacos (Korean, steak, birria, and cueva tacos). I loved the cheese crusted tortilla on their tacos, and the cueva taco was my fave out of the four! The steak was dry so it was my least fave but the Korean and birria taco were also yummy! Nice way to sample their different tacos! Their guava agua Fresca was a refreshing drink to go with my tacos. My friend ordered their cheese enchiladas in their cream red sauce. She said it was different from any red sauce she has ever had but she said she enjoyed her enchiladas. Service was attentive and friendly. Each server checked in on us regularly. Came here on a Saturday for lunch and it was surprisingly not busy at all like how it used to be. Overall, the food was just like I remembered and I wish I had come back sooner. We requested to have our food ready when we arrived, and everything was hot and served right on time. The portions were generous, so you definitely get a lot of food for what you order. Their pizzas are a must-try! We ordered the Pepperoni, and I loved the addition of hot honey. We also tried the 19Seventy and Farmers Garden pizzas, and they were great. The pastas were cooked just right, and my personal favorite was the baked rigatoni. Overall, it was a great spot for a big family dinner. Although we may not have initially been heading to Macallans Public House, my husband ended up enjoying the experience, food, and service! We came in on a warm and beautiful day, so we opted to stay outside in their patio area. Macallans Public House is located in Downtown Brea. They offer a wide selection of alcoholic beverages and their food menu offers several options for various palettes. Our order consisted of - Bruschetta - Pear and Prosciutto Flatbread - Bacon and Brie Burger Everything was tasty. The bruschetta had amazing flavor and the Pear and Prosciutto flatbread was unique in all of the best ways. To be honest, the Bacon and Brie burger was also really good. I love Brie, so putting it on a burger was heavenly. The only thing that left a bad impression was my napkin; it smelled of the stench of wet dog. The whole napkin and every inch of it. I noticed immediately wiping my mouth with it! I thought I may be crazy, but my husband gave it a sniff all around and agreed. It smelled awful and made me question the cleanliness of the spot. Macallans Public House would definitely be a revisit for my husband so I would likely revisit with him if he really wanted to stop by in the future.

They also had all-day Happy Hour deals on Wednesdays. Loved the decor of this restaurant, just an incredibly cool vibe with elaborate Japanese-Mexican fusion art, neon, and even a huge rainbow color-changing tree in the middle of the dining room. We had calamari, corn ribs, steak tacos, king roll, dragon roll, pork belly bowl, and everything was well-cooked and tasty. The hot sauce they give is hot, fair warning! We visited on a weekday evening for dinner and found that the restaurant had largely retained the same look and layout from its days as TAPS. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only a couple of other occupied tables during our visit. While the menu offered a variety of options, it looked limited and, more importantly, significantly overpriced. Signature rolls ranged from $24 to $26, and even a simple pork-and-rice dish was priced at $25. We ordered the Chicken Tequila Cream Pasta, the Dragon Roll, and two fish tacos. Unfortunately, this is where the experience took a disappointing turn. The Dragon Roll, despite its premium price, looked very basic, consisting mostly of rice with very little filling. The quality and presentation reminded me of sushi from a grocery store counter. The Chicken Tequila Cream Pasta was essentially chicken Alfredo with red bell peppers, served with a slice of basic buttered toast. The fish tacos were another letdown. For $16, the plate included only two small tacos with no rice, beans, or side dishes, just the tacos themselves. To make the experience even more unpleasant, there were no complimentary appetizers, such as bread or edamame, to enjoy while waiting for the meal. The food overall was underwhelming and did not justify the prices being charged. The one bright spot was the service, which was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, Geisha failed to deliver the quality or value its prices suggest. Save yourself the time and money and visit virtually any other restaurant in downtown Brea instead. You'll thank me later.
