We had the best time at Ouisie's Table Tequila Dinner this week. The food was fabulous, as always, the cocktails were well paired with each course and the group seating at long tables lead to great conversation with new friends. It was the perfect alignment of food, drink and friends that made for a delightful evening. Kudos ... hopefully there will be more special event evenings like this. read more

We had our daughter's wedding and reception March 1, 2025 and are so happy we chose Ouisie's Table for this special celebration. Adam and Yassine were always communicative and responsive along the way and delivered a beautiful space for the ceremony followed by cocktails then dinner and dancing. The food and ambience were perfect and the service was top-notch. read more

Oh so disappointed today! They get 3 stars for having nice staff. There is a communication problem between the servers and the people who prepare and bring the meals. We both ordered a tea and a water. They brought one tea and one water. Next, we both asked for the dressing to be on the side of our salads, both were drenched in dressing. I couldn't taste the food because it was over powered with dressing. I stopped eating it 1/2 way through. We started out as the only table there so it wasn't busy. Too bad because my last experience there was wonderful! read more

Would've given 0 stars if I could've! I recently attended a baby shower at this restaurant and am disappointed to say the experience was not what I or the hosting family expected. Aside from poor service during the event, there was a 1 year old birthday party booked in the other half of the room who neither respected the curtain barrier nor monitored the toddlers attending the party. Management and servers were notified and our side of the party was given a standing barrier to block the children - no shock that it didn't work, rather the barrier was sent falling, nearly hitting the 8-month pregnant woman we were celebrating, numerous times. We also saw unattended toddlers on our side nearly the entire 3 hour party because parents weren't paying attention on the other side of the room. Further, food for the pre-determined menu was served 1.5 hours after ordered with an update that it would be late 1 hour into the delay. Suffice to say, the party had some setbacks. Wouldn't have thought to leave this review if it weren't for the follow up, though. The hosting family called management to express concerns and disappointment, expecting an apology and hoping that future private parties wouldn't have similar issues. Management instead decided to YELL at the family, blaming them for the mistakes that were made and only offering a refund to ensure "that is the end of this." Actually, it's not the end of it, and while I had a wonderful time catching up with old family friends and celebrating the beginning of a new life + new parents, I will not be going back to this restaurant ever again. It's a shame that what should've and could've been a great event for the hosting family to look back on is now dimmed by the horrible service and customer experience - something that we all would've been able to look past had management decided to take accountability rather than hold onto their pride and attempt to pass on embarrassment for poor service to the family. For a restaurant in River Oaks, I am disappointed. For the hosting family who was gracious in the moment despite the worst service I've ever seen, I am disappointed. For future parties who decide to host at this restaurant, I offer a word of caution. read more

Hosted a small baby shower here this weekend and was incredibly disappointed and disgusted with the atmosphere and service at Ouisie's. Stained linens and seating, a dead cricket on the room divider, a pre-fixed menu that took way too long to be served. Our space was split in half to accommodate two parties -- but the other side was a kid's first birthday party. We were not informed that's how the room would be set up. There were toddlers running around everywhere, even into our space. We had children coming up to our table asking for food, no parents to be found. The guests from the other party were entering our space to go outside onto the patio, constantly opening and closing the door in below 50 degree weather. They even brought a ball pit. It was chaos and completely unmanaged by Ouisie's staff. Felt like we were at Chuck E. Cheese. Plus, the only room divider was a thin shower curtain. Priority was completely given to the other party -- and our party was used as their backstage prep space. Not worth it. Go somewhere else. read more

Late lunch at Ouisie's for Houston Restaurant Weeks 2020! Every app, entree and dessert was delicious! The crab cakes and tenderloin were favorites. Honestly, we could not pick a favorite dessert - would order all those again! And of course the complimentary bread to start is always a nice touch - gingerbread and cornbread. Our server Cecilio was fantastic! read more

On Wed, June 26th I dined with my family (eight ppl) in celebration of my birthday. It was my first-time at Ouisie's Table, and I was excited to see what all the hype was about. Upon first glance it was nice and cozy. Other than that, everything else went downhill shortly after being seated. Here are my points: It took more than 30 minutes for us to get water served at our table "SAD" mini muffin trio was served an hour later Hors d'Oeuvres: two out of three - fair. The crab cakes though, seriously! FIRE the Chef and/or get a new recipe. Our reservation was at 6:30p. We were not served dinner until after 9:00PM. There was a really large private party (60ppl or more) taking place. Meanwhile, there was a dining room packed with people not getting serviced timely or otherwise. It appeared, there was no Quisie's leadership to manage this disaster. Customers were all asking, what is going on and no one could give a justifiable answer. Why would you take reservations or continue to accept walk-ins knowing you did not staff-up or could manage the flow of service. UNACCEPTABLE! There was NOT ONE offering from any LEADERSHIP at Ouisie's for the inconvenience and the bad customer service we experienced. WHAT BUSINESS DOES THIS? I'll tell you, one that takes it's customers and it's fortune for granted. The food, service, and ambiance at this price point should have been spectacular considering we were gracious enough to wait it out. However, the lamb chops were overcooked, no bread served with the meals and, one of the orders was completely wrong. The last offense was when the waitress served me the tiniest cheesecake I've ever seen (with a candle) in honor of my BD. We had already ordered deserts but, I thought that was nice of her considering no one asked for it. Then, I was told there was a charge on the bill for it. WTH! SHAMEFUL! MY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WAS COMPLETELY RUINED! read more

Today I attended the Coronation Breakfast at Ouisie's. Food was good. Price was good. Buffet of goodies was great. Coronation was on a tv screen... AM I BEING JUST PICKY?? NOT ONE CORONATION DECORATION..I decorated my own table. Brought crowns, Prince Charles cups, Paddington Bear, and Flags. Table next to me decorated too. Above the buffet table could have been decorated. GEE, it was lacking that touch for sure. Amazon had all the decorations for under $10. Left disappointed for sure. No backdrops for pictures. Ouisies, you can do better. I know you can. read more

I had dinner with friends here... from an ambience perspective, it's more of a traditional feel, if not a bit dated. The lighting has an off-tone of stale dimness that seems incidental (the wrong bulbs, perhaps?) I asked about their whiskey selection, and the response I received was, "we have a lot." I asked if there was a list or if I could get a suggestion, and he simply walked away. I honestly don't think he meant to be rude... I believe he was just confused if not a big overwhelmed by my inquiries, so I ordered a glass of wine instead. The flavor on the calamari appetizer was nice, and I enjoyed it. The short rib entree was tender, as it should be, but the sides were mundane. Even dessert was underwhelming: pecan pie with a crust that tasted and felt like the mass-made grocery store pre-fab sort. I'd heard a lot about this place, so I'm glad I'm able to cross it off my list. read more

Had to join my bff in celebration of her birthday! I've been to this resturant years ago, but I didn't remember much about it. I figured that couldn't be too good. You have the option of valet for 5.00 or free parking not to far off. The atmosphere is pretty cool and laid back. Our waiter was very nice butI forgot his name. He was very helpful with the menu. I won't lie the menu is not too inviting for my taste buds. I figured I'd shoot for shrimp and grits but I after I got a clear description, it was a no for me. I jokingly made the comment that I ate nothing on the menu but would like some chicken fried chicken. The waiter was like we can make that for you! I was like whattt! The chicken was very good especially with the gravy. The potatoes were good as well. Now for the blackeye peas, greens, and broccoli...let's just say it was a definite no for me!!!! Al enjoyed her seabass. The spinach dip was really good. And those free rolls/cornbread was on point. The side cars were not true side cars...but whoop they were strong. I was sweating before my entree came out! This spot was better than I remembered. read more

Food is mediocre for the price. They were an hour late seating us when we had a reservation. It took 20 minutes to get bread after getting seated. The server was very attentive though. He took lots of pictures to make sure we got a good one. They tried bringing out our salads before our entrees. My husband's fish was very undercooked and had to send it back. The chocolate mouse cake was good. The atmosphere was cozy. I would come back if I was invited but I probably wouldn't choose this place myself. Edit: I appreciate the offer for the drinks and appetizer but I assure you that my reservation was for 7:30 and it was nearly 8:30 before we were seated. I know... because I was there... waiting... I don't appreciate being told that I'm wrong. My husband did receive complimentary Prosecco while waiting. I'm not a drinker. I wasn't starving and I knew that people were probably making up for Valentine's Day on top of the weekend rush. I wasn't terribly bothered by the wait. It happens. The server was quite attentive. My husband's wine was comped for the trouble with the fish. Ouisie's has already made a good effort to make it right. I just didn't think the food was anything to write home about. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! Save yourself and never ever go here! I have a dairy allergy and they were not accommodating at all!! The wait staff was rolling eyes and so inconsiderate! They gave me "crab cakes" and instead of clarifying whether i could eat it, they gave me just plain crab without even asking, the food was horrible. I'm so upset, I didnt even get to eat. Also the Valet was very rude as well, they demanded a tip and wouldn't give me my keys until I showed them that I tipped... absolutely ridiculous, would give them zero stars if i could. read more

Ouisie's Table was deliciousss! A first time at this restaurant and I would definitely return for the eggplant parmesan, as well as the customer service. Went here for my sister friends graduation dinner and there were a lot of family members and friends. The staff was accommodating which was nice. The food was very good. They bring some bread muffins or something to the table that are delicious. The drinks were pretty good too, I know because I had 3 of them. Or 2? I can't remember, anyway it had whiskey in it and it was all that. I have to start doing my reviews immediately so I can give y'all names of things. My apologies. Pictures to come! This place is easy to find, and most likely you have to valet ($3). I came here for a birthday on Sunday noon. They can definitely accommodate a big party however they don't do split checks. The staffs are nice and attentive, however I am not feeling the food. I'm not sure if I ordered the wrong thing but even then the menu didn't look so appealing so I won't be coming back. Crab cake (4/5) Seafood crepes (1/5) - more like seafood enchiladas. Myabe I didn't read the menu indept, but the plate was covered in cheese! La Madeline even have better savory crepe. I only ate the seafood part and it was alright. I was very disappointed and barely ate my food. Lamb meatball (3/5) Overall, I'm not a fan. read more

I have been to Ouisie's only a handful of times, but it has become a favorite!! The menu is outstanding and includes classic dishes and original takes on classics. The Branzino and Paella have been my favorites thus far. The staff are excellent! Everyone from the host to the servers seem well trained and most importantly, proud of their profession. They are polished and precise while remaining friendly. The decor is eclectic and fun. My favorite is the beautiful red dress hung on one of the walls and the dog statue perched atop the bar. It's that time of year again, Houston Restaurant Week!!!!! For the uninitiated, it's a month long food drive collaboration by restaurants across the city. They offer set menus with 2-4 courses at low prices and donate portions of the proceeds to the Houston food bank. Places normally out of range, now have a $30 or $40 range. This year we kicked it off with Ouisie's Table. If you get there early enough, you can get a parking spot and bypass the valet (I hate valet). We had reservations, and we're sat very quickly. When you come in, it seems a bit more cozy, but when you get to the dining area, there's much more space. It's good for a group, or an intimate night out. The menu (pictured) has a few options for each course. Appetizers: Crab Cakes This tiny little fellas had a good taste to them. They came with a corn relish. They came in just the right size to offset the rest of the portions. Main course: Prime Rib It was tough call. Half the table opted for the prime, the other half went Osso Bucco. Both were excellent choices with more meat than a.... Well, it was a lot of meat either way. The Osso Bucco was plated better, but the prime rib took over the whole plate. The prime was medium to medium rare (also known as perfect), and came with a baked potato and steamed broccoli. The taters and broc were non-entities on that plate, let's be honest. The fat was nice and melty. It was huge. Dessert: Chocolate Custard I was aghast at the mini tea cup I was served at first. I thought maybe there was a tea party happening in the kids section and our orders were crossed. To my chagrin, it was the perfect size for what was about to go in me. It was rich. If it was an adult sized tea cup, I would not have finished or would have, and regretted my gluttonous life choices. It was just right to finish me off. Drank: Prosecco I wanted the dark wine, but was out-voted. It was good, I'm just not a fan of carbonated alcohol outside of beer. They see it by glass or bottle depending on your thirst level Service Fan-freakin-tastic. This guy was everywhere. Every two minutes he'd top off the wine glasses of water, or ask if we needed anything. Service was consistent fast and frequent. He was also familiar with the menu and answered our questions easily. Kudos. I'm a fan. Check it out. read more

We just had a party here this past weekend and it did not disappoint! The party was in the Alsey's Nest room. This room sat my party of 22 comfortably and there is a little outdoor area you can mingle or like us take photos. Restaurant was super accommodating seeing how I booked less than 7 days before the party. I was able to bring in my own decor. Food was delicious. Everyone said they enjoyed their meal. The real winner here was the servers, Jessie and Kerri. They were TOP NOTCH!! From the moment we arrived they were beyond helpful and even offered us drinks right away. They helped us setup decor on the table and honestly anything and everything. They were also so polite to me and everyone in my party. My only little complaint is paying for tables. I just feel unless you are doing round table (out of the ordinary) there is no reason we should get charged for tables and linens when they are easily provided in the regular dining area. Now if you want something different than the standard I can see the upcharge. But it also isn't a deal breaker when everything else went right. Will definitely be back! read more

Well, hush my mouth...not! Hadn't been here in 30 years. Lots of time has come and gone, but this Houston staple is still here, and serving the classics, as well as newly imagined creations! See and be seen on Sunday brunch, the food is excellent, with the Eggs Benedict coming in a perfect 10. Not to be outdone by the food, the service is impeccable and attentive, set in a "Southern open living room". This is very much a polite society hangout where everything is perfect. I'd come for the water...but the Eggs Benedict is addictive! read more

Service was impeccable. Atmosphere was outstanding. My Manhattan was superb. Now let's talk about the cuisine. I ordered a Cesar Salad and the Seafood Crepes. In order to be properly called a Cesar Salad, the dressing must include an anchovy mixed in with the salt, pepper, mustard, Worcestershire Sauce, parmesan cheese, lemon juice, eggs, and olive oil. They brought me the salad with the anchovy on the side. Why do restaurants do this? Because some people don't like anchovy. My response is that those people need to order something else. I should have sent the non-Cesar Salad back. From now on, if I ever order Cesar Salad anywhere and they bring me the anchovy on the side, I will send it back. The seafood crepes were dry and lacked flavor. There needs to be Béchamel sauce inside the crepes. Will I return? Maybe, but I would definitely order something different next time. read more

A long time best choice for lunch, brunch high tea or dinner. Creative menu and the wait staff is superb

Those kinda places where the portions seem small until it's gone and the drinks are so pretty, taste cute but sneak up? This is that place. Came here to celebrate my guy's birthday with a party of 15 + a preschooler. The soft music and dim lighting relaxes you instantly. Russell our waiter, could teach a how-to-be-a-server course. He was just that amazing. You'd be blessed to have him serve you, seriously. My plate of Blackened Salmon was beautiful. A bite of the crabmeat relish that topped the Salmon with just enough of the asparagus, snap pea, bell pepper mushroom and sweet corn that surrounded it. It was amazing. Tasted just as beautiful as it looked. My guy came here and loved the Parmesan Crusted Rainbow Trout with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat so he decided on that the 2nd time around. We both agreed it could've had a bit more parmesan and the parmesean could've stood to be a bit more brown. The saute of tomatoes with basil, garlic, shallots, grilled asparagus all in the beurre blanc butter sauce added a smooth finishing taste. It paired well with his Strawberry basil martini. We could come back here for a dinner date definitely. read more

Ouisies is a wonderful restaurant. The food is excellent Southern cuisine. The service is excellent and I love the laid back atmosphere.

I was invited here for brunch last Saturday. I was disappointed. When I arrived and walked in the door, the hostess glared at me and said welcome. Lol I'm like, if that's not conflict of emotions I dont know what is because I sure didn't feel welcomed. She tried to sit me at a table that was right in the walk way. Then after being seated my waiter walked passed me 3 good times, then I finally stopped him and asked for bread and a cocktail. By this time I already formed my opinion of the place. The food was not very flavorful, I wasnt impressed. I ordered the red snapper. I did like the leaks and potatoe soup. read more

Over the years, I've been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and just now able to write a review because I always hesitated before, mainly because I just couldn't put my finger on what is lacking here. Well, I finally figured it out--the service. The food isn't an absolute 5 stars, but it is good. However, it's not anything extraordinary for my tastebuds. My issue with Ouisie's is the service, as stated above. Being in River Oaks, I would've expected the hostesses and servers to be above and beyond awesome. In actuality, they are below average on several fronts. They don't seem to be happy to work there, don't make much (if any) eye contact, practically no smiling, and just an overall unwelcome feeling. I could delve into more detail, but it's a moot point. The service is a 1.5-2 and the food is a 4-4.5, so I'll give it a solid 3. Maybe you have to be a regular to get better service... read more

Let's start from the beginning .... Drinks are 5 stars. I don't recall the exact name of the drink I had but it had prosecco, vodka and raspberry in it. Truly amazing. Appetizers: 4 stars. We received the complimentary breads and the cheesy one is better than Red Lobster, yum! I'm not crazy about jalepenos so I didn't love that option. The other bread was forgettable. Not good, not bad. We also had the spinach dip and deviled eggs. Spinach dip was delicious - could've had more chips. I never easily had deviled eggs and wasn't crazy about them but my dinner guests enjoyed them. Dinner: 3 stars. I had the chicken fried chicken and thought it was mediocre. If I went back I wouldn't get this dish again. While it looked impressive flavors weren't what I expected. Dessert: 4 stars. Our table tried a variety of desserts including the chocolate cake, tres leches and I think a creme brulee was the last. The only reason i'm giving 4 stars is because of the chocolate cake. Order it, you won't be disappointed. I'd certainly return here for dinner if I were in town again and had some free time but I wouldn't go out of my way... unless it was for a drink and some chocolate cake read more

I'd rate this place a 3.5. as the ambiance is nice and inviting, with live piano music and beautifully decorated dining area, this place is definitely great for dates and cute brunches! There was a extensive amount of menu items for cocktail drinks, wasn't that delicious as they sound. The place kind of wreaked of older people as if you are in a retirement home. The order the fried oyster appetizer and crab cake Benedict. the bread that came out was extremely stale and dry, the creamed butter didn't do much for it. The fried oyster appetizer was delicious. I really like the cornmeal breading they had and it was so juicy! They give you a decent amount and came out fresh out the fryer! The crab cake Benedict was simple. The crabcake needed a little more salt, the egg was perfectly poached, and the fresh fruits were semi-sweet. Food was definitely on the more average side. Drinks were also. read more
