Some of the best gluten free pizza delivery. The pepperoni mushroom pizza had a lot of topings. The delivery estimate was about 1.5hrs but they came in 30 to 40 min ! And they're open late at night for some 1am munchies. The mesh below the pizza keeps it from getting soggy. I'm not celiac but I'm very sensitive to crumbs etc and haven't had any issues with contamination from this location. The delivery person usually tries to call to get you to come out, which isn't the best. But usually you can get them to come your door if you miss the call or talk to them... read more

Wow, I cannot tell you how much I love OTTO Pizza. This is by far the best pizza place in the square. All the students love it, although we don't order as often because their pizzas can be too expensive for our poor college student budgets. I will say that it is worth every penny. Their creative toppings are so delicious. You must try the tortellini pizza, avocado and chicken pizza, and sweet potato pizza! There is some outdoor seating but this is mostly a takeout place. I definitely recommend! read more

On my current quest to find the best pizza in Boston, we stopped by OTTO to try a slice or two. I tried the mashed potato pizza with bacon and scallions. It wasn't the best slice of pizza I have had within Boston but it was good. The mashed potato aspect gave a strange texture to the pizza but I know there are many people who have tried it and loved it. I think this one is just based on personal preference. I will be back to try a different slice sometime soon. I haven't given up hope on OTTO. I wish that they had a larger location but this is a great place to grab a quick slice on the go or you can sit at the tables outside. The size and uniqueness of flavors makes this place a must-try. :) read more

Found this place while visiting Boston on our family vacation. Fantastic gluten free pizza! The crust was thicker than most gluten free crusts. Quality ingredients. My family also enjoyed their non gluten free pizzas. read more

Good pizza, horrible delivery service. Every time I order - even days in advance, they are always late by 30-45mins. And our office is literally across the the square. If you're not able to support reliable delivery, then don't. I understand it's a small shop but placing orders of $200+ only to have it late for events is frustrating and embarrassing. Will have to take our business elsewhere. read more

Ordered from Otto a few times already and I'm never disappointed. Price is a little higher than average but the quality is good! Would recommend!! read more

This place is gonna make bank! The slices are reminiscent of Upper Crust only much tastier, with a whole lot more variety, and cheaper. Otto's is in an eye-catching location. I don't know how I've missed it up till now. They take cards, though there's a $5 minimum. There's no room to eat there, sadly, but it is great take out. --on future trips I have found that sometimes the pizza is a little oily and I've lost enthusiasm for it. Still a good option, but these days I prefer Upper Crust. read more

My friend insisted we come here so I was very curious and with high expectations. Otto Pizza completely blew me away! They not only have great pizza but they have great unusual combinations (that work!) like the pulled pork and mango. I had the butternut squash, ricotta and cranberry and it was such a mix of great flavors that led to a party for my taste-buds! It is also worth the money since you get huge slices. Their strawberry lemonade with mango slices in it was really good too. The place doesn't have much seating area but there are benches outside that you can use. read more

This place actually reminds me a lot of Cheese Board (back in Berkeley/SF Area) without the cheese emphasis. It's good, thin-crust pizza with interesting ingredients. With 2 other people, I ordered a whole Apple, Bacon and Red Onion pizza. There isn't a lot of seating but we ended up just taking our pizza onto campus. We devoured the entire pizza (it was really good!) and I would definitely come back again. read more

I think maybe we were too full from brunch but this place was only (like the rating says) a-ok. We tried their mashed potato, bacon, and scallion pizza (and were also recommended to try their cauliflower and mushroom pizza). There wasn't anything spectacular about the pizza toppings, a bit heavy if I have to say, although I have to say the crust was very well done. It's a to-go kind of place so grab the pizza and gawk at all the bums walking around since you are in "Havaad" Square. read more

I went to this place cause I noticed they advertised as from Portland, ME and I was in Portland recently but didn't eat it there. I don't see how this is a four star place. The pizza tasted average at best. There's nothing special or extraordinary about it even with the odd concoctions they come up with. I don't think mashed potato or cranberry belong on pizza. Anyway, I had the OTTO Four Cheese pizza and it was bland. It lacked good flavor. There was no tomato (pizza) sauce on it either. It was a floppy thin crust slice. Sauce less pizza is boring to eat. I did get bang for my buck in which I got a big slice for $3.50. I wouldn't recommend this place and wouldn't go back either. It's the kind pizza you eat after a long night of partying or a quick lunch bite. I have had much better pizza elsewhere. read more

I have to say I was a bit worried strolling in here around 11PM on Friday night. Was the pizza going to be fresh? Ofcourse my fiance picks a pie with only one (cold im thinking) slice left. 3.50 per slice, any pie. They heat it up and it tastes like it was just made. The pizza here is damn near perfect. Thin. Crispy tasty crust. Fresh ingredients. Right amount of grease. I don't think it matters what slice you get here. We all liked both that we tried, and all the other pizzas looked really good too. Service behind the counter was really friendly, patient and helpful. He went through all the pizza options numerous times while we were in there. We were able to grab the 3 spots that we needed at the standing room only counter. There is only space for about 5-6 people to stand here. The good thing is, because you're standing and in Harvard SQ, you're most likely going to eat and run. I could see this being a problem while the place is really busy and if all the spots are taken in the winter time, where are you supposed to eat your slice? Hopefully they expand to a bigger space with a good amount of seating because this place seems to be doing really well already. They were doing a lot of takeout while we were there. We will be back sooner rather than later and this is a great addition to harvard sq. You will be seeing a lot of people eating pizza outside come spring/summer now. read more

OTTO - you can tell which one is the white cheese pizza (thanks flash). - Pizza Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Love it here! Favorite pizza in the Cambridge Area, and it's both fast and convenient! Also really like the variety in choices as well as the ability to buy by the slice rather than get stuck with one whole pizza that gets boring. Great value for the price and this is the only place I know with mashed potato, bacon, and scallion on a pizza! read more

Do not order delivery from here. The pizza is pretty good, but the service is miserable. They failed to bring half my order tonight, the pizza was cold on arrival, and to top it off they ignored the instructions to call rather than ring the doorbell, and consequently woke up my baby. I called to complain (the first time I've ever done that before!) and all they offered to do was remove the price of the missing item from my order. Which... I would hope so, since I literally do not have it. Basically, just... don't. read more

I ate here recently, ordered two slices of pizza, both of which were extremely good. OTTO is very small though. Seating only appears to be outside, which is great if the weather is nice and sunny, as it was the day I ate there, but not great if otherwise. Prices seemed a little high, but again, the slices were very good and the toppings were interesting. I don't know how often I would frequent them, but I would eat here again if craving pizza and in Harvard Square. read more

This is a review for the delivery service here. Just don't do it. It sounds ideal, I actually live in the area and they estimated it would take 45 min for me to get one pizza delivered. 60 minutes comes and goes, I call in and they cannot give me an estimated time of arrival. They do it by bike and it seems like they do not have a good scheduling method (or a system at all) Bc the lady (also very rude and brisk) says it's going to take atleast another 30 min. The pizza hasn't baked yet and they are waiting for the delivery guy to come back from his last order. It takes 20 min to bake the pizza and the bike ride from the store will be atleast 10 min, so the math doesn't add up. It's going to be way longer than 30 min. Why throw out numbers and set unrealistic expectations to a hangry lady? Rude. I used to order delivery from the comm ave location and have never had a single problem. I get it, you're busy, you're popular, you make sales and your pizza is good. It just really sucks when customers aren't taken care of and suffer Bc you can get away with it. read more

#170 2.5 stars, but the girl behind the counter is very cute and sweet so this place gets a solid 3 from me. - Tomato sauce is chunky, with mild flavor. - Crust is light and airy, with very foldable nature. - Not terribly flavorful though. More of a mild and subtle punch, which will appeal to those who avoid the heavy pizza more associated with NY slices. They do serve a lot of varieties. I had the three-cheese tortellini and the mashed potato bacon and scallion. Both were average. Clearly targets a more sophisticated pizza eater with their wide range of toppings, and reminds me a lot of west coast pizza chains. $3.50/slice. Three tables outside and a small table inside for eating. read more

Every time I go to the east coast I need to have pizza. Delicious thin, crunchy, cheese pizza. I saw this place and I had to try it. $3.50 a slice and it was delicious. They warmed up a slice of pepperoni pizza, it was a little burned on the edges and they offered to give me another slice. I personally liked stuff to be a little burnt so I ate it. I wish I had room for the other type of pizzas because they looked delicious. I can't wait to go back! read more

Great hearty pizzas with a variety of veggie ingredients.

Delicious, albeit expensive, pizza. Disclaimer: I've only ever gotten whole pizzas to go or delivered and have never just gotten pizza by the slice. My two favorites are the mashed potato/bacon/scallion pizza, and the butternut squash/cranberry/ricotta pizzas. The flavors are unique (well, compared to your average pizza place) and work so well together. Absolutely delicious and definitely hits the "gourmet thin crust pizza" spot whenever I'm craving it. My only negative is that the whole pies are quite expensive. Both the pizzas above are ~$22 for a large pie so really ~$25 with tax and even more with delivery. So this definitely isn't going to be an all the time go to pizza place for me. I also generally prefer a thicker crust cheesier pizza so this isn't my favorite pizza in the whole world, but this is completely my preference and doesn't say anything about Otto's! It looks like I can get a couple large slices of pizza for $7 though. $3.50 seems expensive for a slice of pizza but the slices look huge, and $7 is actually cheaper than the sandwich lunch options in the area. I'll have to come here for lunch some time soon! read more

Called for delivery on Saturday night from Mt. Auburn Hospital after giving birth. The guy who answered the phone had to be new as he had to ask the person next to him about everything. He quoted an hour which was reasonable for 8pm on a Saturday but it was delivered in half the time! The driver was super nice and brought it directly to my postpartum room. The pizza was thin crust, super hot and really delicious. We got a small pepperoni and a small pineapple/bacon/chili flake. For $28 before tip I thought it was well worth it. I've wanted to try this place for a while and glad I finally did! read more

I stopped in for a slice to go and was not disappointed. My go-to is the mashed potato and bacon, which is delicious and I highly recommend. It wasn't too expensive at $3.50, but it's definitely a to-go situation since it was standing room only. The staff were friendly and worked fast. Highly recommend if you're in a rush! read more

OTTO Pizza in Harvard Square is one of my favorite places to grab a quick slice and is easily my go-to place for pizza in the Boston area. They do amazing thin crust pizzas with a variety of fun and delicious combinations. Their slices are $3.75 and while it's on the more expensive side, they are generally pretty big and gourmet. My absolute favorite is the mashed potato, bacon, and scallion pizza. Mashed potato on pizza is amazing and I highly recommend it. I also recently really enjoyed mushroom and cauliflower when they were out of my favorite slice. Their pepperoni is pretty solid too. All in all, OTTO makes great pizza and is worth the treat when I'm in Harvard Square. read more

Always appreciate the folks at Otto's in Harvard Square. We have been using the Ott's Online APP and it is great - so easy to use and I appreciate the order tracking. The rewards are great too! The service here is just terrible. My first time coming I was told there was no cheese pizza. How do you not have cheese at lunch time? But it's possible they run out. Sure. Today I go, though, and the whole process is a nightmare. I'm standing in line out the door, and when I finally get to the register the cashier (woman with tear drop tattoos) tries to give me someone else's change. I then ask for cheese slice and she says they're out. I saw a cheese pie in the storage rack in the window in the front and said "Isn't there cheese in the back?" and the response I got was "We're not doing that right now." WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? How are you a pizza place and not able to give me slices? Between these and a delivery that took over 2 hours from Brookline, not coming back. read more

It should be clear from the other reviews, which on the basis of my quick visit so far I agree with, that pizza here has little in common with mass market Chain products. This short review will serve to reinforce the other very positive ones here. My experience was very good; I will be visiting here again and will be traveling to the original ones in Portland soon. Pinocchio's, you've met your match! OTTO serves up some really good pizza in Harvard Square! I admit, I've got a little bit of a love-hate relationship with Otto right now (they definitely deserve 3.5 stars, just not quite 4 yet). I love the pizza, hate the fact that I can't eat there. It appears that they actually have quite a bit of unused space behind the counter, but literally there is no room inside to eat (it's incredibly cramped if there's more than 4 people ordering). But I digress... the pizza is awesome. I had the #10 Chicken and basil and the #9 Butternut Squash, Ricotta and Cranberry. The chicken and basil was delicious: tons of fresh basil and really well-seasoned, juicy chicken. The #10 was good, but I didn't think it quite lived up to its Yelp hype. It needs a little bit more seasoning (I'm not quite sure what), but the butternut squash is a nice treat and great break from tomato sauce pizza. At $3 per slice (and they're huge), this place is already a very popular student hangout. The cornmeal crust is delicious! I will warn you that they only had about 8 different varieties when I was there to choose from, not all 24 from the menu. I just wish they had seating, or it was in a convenient location to pick up pizzas by car. read more

Don't get me wrong, I like the pizza. What I don't get is the 'by the slice' concept. OK, they've a few pizzas sliced up, ready for you to buy and reheat - that's fine. But there's 9 people in line - and none, zip, NO signage as to what pizza is available by the slice? How hard would it be to print up a few and when a new pizza comes in, just slip the right sign in front of it? Instead, the counter person has to rattle off the 8 pizza descriptions for the 592nd time this lunchtime. I can't imagine why one of these kids haven't gone postal. read more

Pizza was good but one of the staff was incredibly rude. When we asked for a take-out box for the pizza, she threw the pizzas on top of each other - even though the plates had touched the counter surface (super unhygienic since one of the plate bottoms touched the top of one of the pizza slices). She then forcefully shoved them into the take-out envelope. The lady who took our order was courteous but the lady who warmed the pizza slices and packed them for us had a bad attitude. Her service ruined our experience of Otto Harvard Square. read more

The pizza is delicious, but who the hell designed the customer experience here? When I arrived on a Friday night, you literally could not open the door to this place -- and I think there were fewer than 10 people waiting. There is no place to sit -- well, there was one stool -- despite there seemingly being lots of available space behind the counter. The door opens inward, which had the effect of squishing everyone who was already packed into the place. And a little bird tells me that configuration is a code violation. The pizza slices look beautiful, but I couldn't figure out what the heck they are. Maybe some tiny signs indicating which is a #11 or #5, so that the cashier doesn't have to tell *everyone* every single time? Would help move people along, especially since it's so damn crowded. The garbage cans are underneath a counter, and they're so tall they are butting up against the counter, so you have to pull them out to use them. When we were there, most people couldn't even make their way over to the cans. One person said, "I'll just use a trash can outside somewhere." The salt shaker looks like a Parmesan cheese shaker and has only a small label on it. That ruined my girlfriend's slice. But it was too crazy there to even talk to an Otto employee about the issue. I left Otto feeling seriously annoyed by being in the tiny, cramped place. But, again, the pizza was delicious. I'd almost rather go to Oggi, where I can stand, sit, etc and be comfortable in exchange for pizza that's almost as good. Otto: a store reconfiguration is in order! read more

Wanted to say a special thank you to Otto pizza team! We came in earlier today to order Margherita pizza. When we got it however, my husband was a bit disappointed as Otto's margherita is different from the classical style (no tomato sauce, but cut tomatoes instead). My hubby specifically orders margheritas because he is on low cholesterol diet and on those rare days when he gets pizza he only gets margheritas. He explained the situation to Otto's team and to our pleasant surprise they made another pizza for him that fit the classical style and had minimal cheese! We were very happy at the end of the day! :-) Yay for customer service. read more

I'm a New Yorker, born and raised. There's something lacking in a lot of the Boston-area pizzas I've tried. But I've finally found a place that satisfies my nearly impossible crust criteria--not too thick, not too thin, not too crispy, not too bready, but *just* right. And these guys are from... Portland, Maine? Vegetarians like me can rejoice: the meatless options aren't limited to a plain cheese or a margherita. I've never had a slice I didn't like here, but my favorite is the butternut squash, ricotta and cranberry. Other tasty slices I've enjoyed are the cheese tortellini and the white bean and roasted tomato. The one downside to this location is that there's only one tiny counter to stand at if you want to eat there. But while the weather's warm, you might as well pick up a slice (or two) and find a good spot out in the Square. read more

Otto's is essentially super hipster pizza. Seriously, there are so many interesting slices available, none of which really sound that good considering their cheese pizza is just slightly better than mediocre. I keep forgetting that I need to write a review for Otto's. This is due to two reasons, for some reason I just never finish the review. Secondly, the pizza just isn't memorable at all. Hopefully I don't have to write this review again... by then I won't remember anything about Otto's. read more

I recently wrote a review of Emma's, which I gave 4 stars. The quality of pizza at Otto's and Emma's is roughly the same (as is the spelling pattern in their names: vowel-double consonant-vowel). What is different about Otto's, then? First, there is nowhere to sit. You are left to scarf your pizza standing up, pinned close to the window by the madding crowds clamoring for their own slice. Or, you can take it to a place nearby and buy something else for a chance to sit down. This place might be Tealuxe, and your dining companion might spill tea on your yet-uneaten second slice of pizza. Hypothetically, I mean. OK, this happened. Second, there is so much damn buzz around Otto's. People talk about these pizzas like they are the second coming of Christ. Well let me tell you, my pizza did not walk on water, or even turn water into wine. And especially, it didn't raise Lazarus from the dead. Trust me, this pizza is good. They've got some yummy flavor combos that I haven't seen anywhere else. In particular, the pulled pork and mango is incredible. It's always well executed, never undercooked or dry/burned. The crust is flavorful. I do wish they would just put up some signs, for Pete's sake, so customers wouldn't have to stand there squinting at the slices on offer that day, trying to make out the toppings -- is that cauliflower, or a blob of ricotta? -- to avoid asking the dude behind the counter what kind of slices they have that day, and making him repeat the list YET AGAIN. The solution to this is to buy a whole pie -- then you can order ANY FLAVOR YOU WANT! The problem with this solution is that a 16-inch pie will run you approximately $20. read more

Awesome pizza selections! I love the Thanksgiving pizza - although that's not what it was called. It was the Butternut Squash and Ricotta cheese pizza. Crazy right?! It's a REALLY small place, small enough to grab your pizza and go so be careful of your timing and the weather pattern since a lot of the students hit up this spot late at night - you might end up standing outside waiting for your pizza or eating your slice. This is a must try because of the unique toppings and selections. It's all fresh and not greasy. Expect the best. read more

Have you seen A Chorus Line? Remember the song "Looks 10, Dance 3?" Well that's how I feel about Otto- pizza 10, service 3. I am giving it 5 stars anyway because I am from NY and am never satisfied with Boston pizza, but Otto is darn good. The crust is delicious, crispy but not cracker-like, with good flavor. I really enjoy the varied toppings. My favorite is the ricotta butternut squash and the mashed potato, bacon, scallion. If you crave good pizza this is the place for you, but again, the service (at the H sq. location) is awful. The place is tiny- which would be ok if there was some order to their service. If you do not call a pie in ahead of time, you have to choose from the 8-10 selections they happen to have but they fail to label them so the person behind the counter has to waste 5 min with almost every customer to describe each pie. That is inefficient and annoying. Also, often, when I call to order a pie, the phone rings endlessly with no answer. I have to call 5-6 times to get someone to answer which is really unprofessional. I guess good pizza is enough to get business as the line is usually out the door and it won't stop me from going but better service would be nice! read more

Been here a handful of times and it's good... the topping combos are remarkable... but the pizza itself is both pricey and over-rated. When I'm in the Square, I'd rather Pinocchio's or Oggi. The spot is very small albeit conveniently-located. There is no seating, although recently they installed three seats just outside the door. I wish there were bench seat inside. Slices are $3 each... which isn't bad for food in the Square, but puts it higher than Upper Crust, Oggi and Pinocchio's... all within a couple blocks. My biggest gripe is the lack of flavor in the basic pizza itself. Having tried both the Cheese and the Margherita... I was unimpressed. The sauce is extremely bland. The cheese is so-so and the crust is good, but cracker-thin and therefore not chewy or substantial. Additionally, because they cook the slices completely and then reheat them... they end up getting charred a bit nearly every time. The pepperoni slice was sub-par. It's just the Cheese slice with some mediocre pepperoni sliced onto it. My favorite of the slices I've tried is the Mashed Potato, Bacon and Scallion slice. It's a great combo especially with a little salt and pepper... but it would be better if they were starting with a better crust and so on. It ought to be said that my colleagues unanimously love the Butternut Squash, Ricotta and Cranberry slice, but I have yet to try it. The staff all seem pretty young, but they're generally very, very nice. Three stars for A-OK. I love the business model, the crunchy Portland aesthetic, and the flat rate prices... but the lack of seating space, the mediocrity of the basic pizza, and high prices are off-putting. read more

Honestly, this place serves up some of the tastiest pizza I've ever had. On top of that, the ambiance and decor make it a great spot to catch up with friends or sit in front of the window to do some people-watching. We have always experienced friendly service here as well. One of my favorites is the butternut squash, goat cheese and cranberry topped pizza. It is so unexpectedly creamy, but the crust is thin enough that I can enjoy more than one peice without feeling like I've completely over-indulged. The salads I've tried have been incredibly fresh and expertly dressed, and the drink menu has offered my husband and I just enough to choose from during a night out. In addition, the prices are completely affordable. I would HIGHLY reccommend coming here for any occasion. This place appears to be especially busy in the evenings (with good reason), so be warned, there may be a little wait, but it is completely worth it! read more
