We came for my wife's birthday with our daughter and had an excellent night. Waleed started us off. Attentive without hovering, patient, and clear about how the table is meant to work. Mid-meal he had to leave and James stepped in with the same standard. No drop-off. The detail my daughter caught, and I keep thinking about: our water glasses were never empty. Not once. Most places let that slip. Here it didn't. Food was expertly cooked and expertly seasoned. It was quite the experience. Order what you want, but the joy of this place is best if you treat the dishes as à la carte for the table and share. That's how they designed it, and that's when it clicks. If you get Waleed or James, you're in good hands.

My wife and I went on a date to Osteria Mozza recently and had one of the best meals on 2026. To start, the star of the show was 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano then the Chicken. We had a great dinner experience. The venue is elegant. The lighting is romantic. We enjoyed our experience. Our host was great.

I visited with a group of coworkers on a last-minute whim. We were seated quickly. Arriving early definitely helped, but I'd still recommend making reservations in advance. We were seated in the indoor patio area, which had a wonderful ambiance and gave us the feeling of dining outdoors while still being comfortable inside. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and highly professional. The food arrived quickly. Standout dishes included the Sweet Corn Cappellacci, the broccolini, and the tiramisu. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared. Highly recommend!

This is one of our go to places whenever we are in Georgetown, it never disappoints! The inside of the restaurant is absolutely stunning. We have ordered everything from prosciutto + melon appetizer to steaks and pasta, everything is always prepared perfectly and the service is excellent. Will be back often!

Osteria Mozza nails the atmosphere. The place looks great, service was excellent from start to finish, and the prices are actually more reasonable than I expected for a nice restaurant in DC. That said, the food was a letdown. The mozzarella appetizer was fine but nothing special.. it's cheese and tomato. Everything after that was further disappointing. I wanted to like it because everything else about the experience was solid, but the food is ultimately what matters most. Unless they're having an off night, I don't see myself coming back.

I had really high hopes for Osteria Mozza after hearing so many great things (since my LA years). First impressions were fantastic. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, the service was warm and attentive, and I was pleasantly surprised that the prices were actually pretty reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber in DC. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to everything else. The mozzarella appetizer was the best thing we ordered and delicious. My pasta dish was noticeably overcooked and mushy, which was disappointing for an Italian restaurant. I kept hoping each bite would get better, but it never really did. Overall, I left feeling pretty underwhelmed. I'd happily come back for drinks and the mozzarella, but I don't think I'd return expecting a memorable Italian meal.

WOW. I went to Osteria Mozza between their lunch and dinner service for a quick bite. I ordered salad & a pasta and was absolutely blown away by the depth of flavor from the dishes. The salad was so fresh and well balanced, and the pasta was clearly made right at home. I went back again a week later, as a walk in for lunch, and also tried arancini and two pizzas. I really was again blown away by the pure deliciousness of the food! It also is such a beautiful and large restaurant, with multiple levels and different rooms. Easily in the top 2 Italian spots I've tried in DC!

Went here for a beautiful weekend brunch. Interior was spacious and immaculate, very airy and nicely decorated. Staff was as welcoming and knowledgeable as can be. We shared several dishes. I got the roasted eggplant piadini. A Margherita pizza was also ordered, as well as the steak and eggs. Everything was delicious. The piadini was a light, puffy and crispy round bread stuffed with a heaping portion of roasted eggplant with a yogurt dressing. A side salad of greens in and oil and vinegar dressing rounded out the meal. The pizza had a thin but chewy and crispy crust with a savory tomato sauce, soft mozzarella and basil. The steak was tender and slightly charred in the exterior. Great place for an intimate meal or groups!

So many great things to say about this place, best of all being its STAFF! We stumbled upon this place by chance. I insisted on going in here because they just look like they have good wine. Correct. They did. A great selection of respectable European varietals. We noshed a bit but didn't eat a meal, but I can tell you that the wines would pair incredibly with their menu. We ordered the olive bowl and grilled octopus-- which was made to perfection, btw. Really brought the wine to life. The space omg THAT SPACE! Beautiful, breathable, eclectic and yet wholly European lakeside chateau vibes. We sat at the bar but there was also a huge dining room, a wide green room (glass ceiling so it gave major outdoor vibes without actually being outside, and even a (roomy) private dining room on a mezzanine level that overlooks the dining and bar area. As mentioned, the staff were our favorite part. Special shoutout to Oja (spelling? It's pronounced Oha), Dominic (if I remember correctly), and a member of the catering/events team, who was so warm and professional. We spent most of our time with Oja, who was so delightful we proactively highjacked her time! Definitely will come back much as I can. Everything was such a smooth, professional, and obviously carefully curated operation. A stand-out place in G'town.

We joined as walk-ins for a cocktail and dessert at the bar. What a beautiful Italian restaurant right in the middle of Georgetown. The service was disengaged, but the dessert was delicious and my Negroni was perfect. Definitely try the butterscotch! I will return to try the full experience. PS they even have your favorite Italian spices, pasta, sauce, and other goods for sale as you walk out -- worth a little shopping spree!

I tried the margherita pizza and carbonara pasta which I loved! The atmosphere was very nice and felt super fancy haha

Tuna crudo. Delicious

From the hostess, Tiffany, at greeting, to the attentive service with Francesco, fresh food and atmosphere, this is a must visit place. Even if stopping in and sitting at a small table at the entrance. Food: Little Gem salad (not shown) is fresh and bite and the pepitas give a great crunch. The crudo was also fresh and delightful.

Complimentary birthday dessert

Came here recently Saturday night to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriends. The restaurant is nice, and has an energetic vibe! The bar was packed too. Service was great--our server Mili was friendly and attentive. We started off with the Nancy's Caesar and Shaved Brussel Sprouts--the Caesar was disappointing, just a few pieces of lettuce and oddly presented. Pastas were delicious and flavorful but were relatively small portions--we enjoyed the Mafaldine, Rigatoni, and Linguine & Clams. The 24oz. Grilled Porcini-Rubbed Ribeye was huge--well flavored, tender and cooked perfect! Whole Branzino Alla Piastra was just okay--fish was soft but it lacked flavored, would have been better more seasoned or accompanied by a sauce. For sides, highly recommend the Sweet Potatoes! Roasted Cauliflower was good but it looked like broccoli since it was green, but tasted like a cauliflower. For dessert, Mili brought out a birthday dessert (ice cream with cookie) and a lit candle for the celebration! We also tried the Tiramisu and Apple Crisp. Cocktails were on point and prices started off at $16-17 a drink. We had an awesome experience, would definitely come back!

Absolutely worth the hype. The duck falls off the bones with a slight tap of the fork and the pasta nearly melts in your mouth.

Even the Polpette was extremely delicious, especially for something as simple as meatballs. Now for the main course, the 40-Layer Lasagna was amazing. I will say, though, that after a while, the flavor became so rich that it started to feel a little tiring. The Rigatoni alla Carbonara was also super good. I actually ended up switching with my partner so we could both enjoy the rest of each other's dishes. For dessert, we got the Crème Brûlée. I'd rate it a 4/5. The flavor was different from a traditional crème brûlée, but it was still delicious. Overall, everything was really good, and I would definitely come back to try some of the other dishes!

They have many good options on their menu. There's a little something for everyone. From the antipasti menu, I enjoyed their Verde salad, the Carciofi, and the Hamachi Crudo. The hamachi was a highlight; it was so fresh and bright. For mains, we got the pomodoro and bolognese pastas. These were alright. The pasta itself was a little harder than al dente unfortunately. But the flavor of the sauces were yummy. I loved the dessert! We had the chocolate cake and the creme brulee. These were among the best bites of the night. Restrooms were large and mostly clean. Wasn't expecting them to be as ornate (or as dark inside) as they were. Downside is that the restrooms are right next to the kitchen area so wait staff were constantly moving and I was worried about tripping someone.

Greeted warmly by our server, Ditonio, and toured thru the menu which had incredible choices. Started with a Caesar salad for two. Nice size, perfectly dressed. Wifey was advised to try the lasagna. Serving was large enough to feed four. Covered with marinara on one half and a light cream sauce on the other. Brought home more than half. I was advised by a friend to try the signature dish Linguine Cardinale. It was divine. Homemade linguine adorned with a cream sauce that resembled a cheesy She-crab soup and loaded with large chunks of fresh lobster. Dish was so good it put me in a coma. We finished with a piece of double chocolate mousse cake and their good night toast. Double highly recommend without any reservations. Ambiance was gorgeous and service was spectacular. The hostess told us we likely wouldn't sit until 9:45 so I inquired about the bar and the manager quickly stepped in to put us on a waitlist. Since the restaurant is connected to a food hall of sorts, she recommended we grab a drink there while we wait. Shortly after we got our drink, we received notification of an opening and were seated by 8:15. We had the burrata appetizer, Ragú x 2, and the seafood fra diavolo. The burrata was one of the best I've had since they serve it with pesto, pine nuts, and garlic bread. It was truly divine! The Ragú was not far behind. Incredible flavor and a generous portion. The seafood dish had a nice kick and had plenty of seafood, which is not common as of late. All dishes were also priced reasonably for the quality you received. As we sat at the bar, we had pleasant conversation with the bartender and finished our meal with a small cannoli that really sealed the deal. If you're looking for excellent Italian food in DC without breaking the bank, look no further than Caruso's grocery! However, I'd recommend reserving ahead of time because it's certainly not a secret. LOL

Found it to be a bit louder than I would've liked but I think it was because of the spacing between tables. Came toward the end of the night and got seated and welcomed right away. I ordered the polpette, meatballs to start. They were quite tasty, but the sauce was a bit watery. Think that's just because the meatballs themselves were pretty juicy. Heard the focaccia was a hit, so asked for some of that. I was told they didn't have any left. Which was weird, because then another server came and asked if I wanted bread. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. The pasta is thick, you're really coming here for fresh noodles and ingredients. If you want to top your meal off just right, you'll get the chocolate lava cake. Very delicious! He was incredibly attentive, warm, and thoughtful from the moment we sat down and somehow always anticipated what our table needed. One thing that meant a lot to our family was how attentive he was with my younger sister, who is autistic. She was laughing with excitement throughout dinner because her soda kept getting refilled so quickly. It might seem like such a small thing, but it genuinely made her so happy, and seeing her enjoy herself that much made the night even more special for all of us. Sebastian also noticed when I accidentally got something on my clothes and immediately brought me stain remover without me even having to ask. Those little details really showed how much attention he was paying to our table. We came in while my siblings were visiting DC and ordered a ton to share--the Truffled Garlic Bread, Prime Beef Meatballs, Mediterranean Octopus, Shrimp Scampi, Carbonara, Spicy Dungeness Crab pasta, and Chicken Parmesan.
