Amber is the best server, give her a raise!! When I say this meal blew my d**k off, I mean it. Starting with the focaccia topped with parmesan was a dream and like nothing I've ever experienced. I'd come back just to eat 100 more of these. Pairing them with the mozzarella trio and Nancy's deconstructed Caesar was next level. The first main was the oxtail tagliatelle which was excellently executed but missing a certain je nais se qua. The second main, the rigatoni carbonara, was the best of the night. I have NEVER had a perfect bite on rigatoni like this and I have NEVER had such crispy perfect guanciale. I want to be drowned in a vat of this pasta. It is my dying wish. At this point I'm stuffed to the gills but of course they recommended the coconut gelato pie. Coconut gelato, douro almonds, chocolate ganache, and mascarpone cream all on a chocolate crust was the figurative cherry on top. You know a place is nailing their opening weekend when the only nitpick I have is that the spacing and timing of the courses was very off. In spite of this, I can't wait to come back if I can ever score another reservation again. Well done Osteria Mozza! read more

Stunning space, good service, some nice menu items. I loved the little gem salad with toasted pepitas and chock full of lots of fresh herbs. The banana bread and cinnamon roll were both tasty and crowd pleasers especially with the kids (though the icing seemed heavy handed). The burger had good toppings and flavor but was really hard to eat and messy. The rosemary fries that came with were really crispy and tasty. I'd definitely be back to try other menu items. read more

The king of food reviews, Dommy Dishes visits the Capital of the best country in the world - how fitting. I've been looking forward to our reservation to Osteria Mozza for weeks, after my brother gave me rave reviews. So I packed my bags, got a hot date and arrived. Upon entrance. WOW. In fact, my gorgeous date even said to me "this is going to be amazing." Ugh. I wish her lips didn't lie. Atmosphere was the second prettiest thing in this restaurant. Really well done. Romantic. High-end. Elite. And the food. Wow. It's not often that Dommy Dishes takes a picture of an entree, just for personal preference, but I did. I ordered the Nancy Caesar and the Smoked Salmon Crostone and both were unbelievable. Seriously, the make up of the plate and the flavors were out of this world. I know what you're thinking... "Dommy, how come the 2 star review!? This sounds too good to be true." Ugh, I wish I didn't have to be so honest all the time, but there was a major major problem. The service. 1 hour for our appetizers to come out. 1 app for me... and another 10 minutes for my date's. Come on man. When the food arrived, the runners all auctioned off the items like I was at Olive Garden. I mean what is that about? Beautif Oh ya, and one of my orders was wrong. Dang it. I'm torn even giving SUCH a delicious and romantic restaurant a 2 star review, but unfortunately the service was that bad. Dommy Dishes was fully prepared to give this spot "Best Date Night Spot in DC," but unfortunately Osteria Mozza isn't getting a second date from me. -Dommy Dishes read more

Beautiful venue with incredible food. If you are in Georgetown I would highly recommend getting a resy for here. We went for brunch and it was buono. Their pizzette is thin and crispy and the mozzarella tasted fresh and pure. The arancini is very cheesy and the appetizer has three balls and mozza caprese again very fresh and delightful a great appetizer. The chicken Milanese panini was filling and fresh and so crispy. Bravo. The staff was attentive and so personable read more

Went for brunch with the fam. Daniel was our server and he was amazing, he told us about the menu and what restrictions we might have to make sure we have a good experience. We celebrated a new job and marriage so they brought us champagne. Pancakes, herbed cheese omelette, smashed potato's, Americano and cold brew were delicious! Loved the ambiance and light music! read more

New favorite Italian spot! The decor is fun, stylish, and sets the perfect vibe. The focaccia is a must-try--thin, crispy, and filled with a delicious layer of cheese. The orecchiette pasta was fantastic, though a bit on the heavier side. Surprisingly, the chicken stole the show--so tender and perfectly seasoned. Our server was great even though it was so busy. Reservations highly recommended and very limited parking since it's Georgetown - but there's a valet outside! Everything we ordered was outstanding, and I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu and Nancy Silverton's artistry! read more

The food was lovely! A very nice surprise after some Georgetown shopping. We started with the burrata and bacon + pickled escarole. I like it but the escarole was heavy on the vinegar flavor. Could use less for more balanced bite. I had the whole branzino -- it was divine accompanied by fresh tarragon, chives, dill, mint and celery leaves drenched in lemon. That was a delight with its freshness! We also tried the octopus -- perfectly cooked, chargrilled with nice flavor and lastly the rigatoni carbonara with pork lardons! It was really good too! Service was great and they were very accommodating despite no reservation. We did arrive around 6 to ensure table. Make a resy! Can't wait to come back and try the duck confit! read more

As a Philadelphia native who spends a lot of time in DC these days, I eagerly awaited seeing Steven Starr's vision for the old Dean and Deluca, especially in collaboration with Nancy Silverton. It lives up to the hype. The space is stunning. It's lively, energetic, a little loud, and beautiful from the windows, to the floor, to the back of the bar area, to the impressive opening on the back wall to see the giant operation that is their kitchen firing in sync. Even the bathrooms are pretty. And the food matches the environment. We started with their cheesy take on focaccia. That's as close to a must order as I can think of anywhere. The raviolo with browned butter and burnt sage was also delicious, with a perfect runny egg, and Lucious ricotta inside. Then I had the Chicken Alla Diavola, which might be the best chicken dish I've ever gotten. Fair warning, though, they give you twice as much chicken as it would take to feed a hungry giant, so if you're the type who feels obliged to leave a clean plate, you might consider something else. Finally, we finished it off with bombilini in a huckleberry sauce with a Meyer lemon mascarpone, which was a thoughtful dessert that played nicely on the tongue. The huckleberry sauce had a nice tartness to it, while interestingly the lemon mascarpone was minimally tart, which throws your tongue/brain for an interesting loop when you put them together in the same bite. Our service was good, too. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful. And, they have a cool thing going on where the servers are actually casually dressed but all wear white shirts that echo the white of the chefs in the back, so when you survey the room, it has the look of an army of uniformed staff moving in sync to establish a high end, formal, fine dining kind of backdrop, but then when your server is table side, you see it as a laid back outfit establishing a fun, friendlier vibe. The one warning I'd give is that it's a place where you might want to go in with a strategy of how you're going to order. The menu offers a lot of variety, and if you order carefully, you can tailor it to the experience you're looking to have. But, with separate categories for focaccia, mozzarella bar, antipasti, primi, and secondi (plus desserts, different drink courses, etc.), it can be overwhelming. And among those, there are small plates, normal plates, and bigger probably shareable plates, and items range from $8 to $175. While it's certainly not a cheap restaurant, we got plenty of food for an amount that was comparable to (and not at the highest end) of comparable places in the area, and one could get a great meal there for less than we paid. But, with so many sections, some might be tempted to order way too much, or one looking to eat there for less could probably make the opposite error, so I'd recommend going in with an idea of how you want to order. Overall, it was a really fantastic restaurant experience. read more

Beautiful space inside!! So lovely in the ante room with all the plants, the main room was super loud and the whole place was packeddd on a Monday! My only complaint is service was really really slow and sometimes it feels like they forgot about you. The focaccia is amazing and thinner than any other focaccia I've ever had! I also tried the mafaldine with oxtail which was my favorite dish - SO so good and the pasta was cooked perfectly, you could tell it was homemade. The lamb sausage was also really yummy and a huge serving size. Whatever garlic sauce they served with this dish was tangy and really unique. I would come back! read more

I had a drink at the bar and my dirty martini had the most delicious blue cheese stuffed olive! The three of us moved to the table.... We started with the focaccia. Really any combo of bread and cheese is going to be good. And this was! We decided to get two pastas and two main dishes and split everything. The pastas we chose were the carbonara and oxtail. They were very different since one was a white sauce and one was a red. Both delicious. Loved the big rigatoni in the carbonara- a bold choice! For our mains we split the whole Branzino and porcini rubbed ribeye. Wow - that steak was a surprise and stole the show!! It was recommended by the waiter and he was dead on. The. Branzino was also very good. We also got the Broccolini and sweet potato side dishes. Would get both again! We indulged and got three desserts! All good and good portion. They remembered my birthday and put a candle in all three desserts. Service was perfect and our waiter personable. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing and has flattering lighting. And they have matches!! Love that throw back! Highly recommend this place!! read more

Really enjoyed this place for brunch! It's a little unconventional for brunch, but everything we tried was really good. First of all, the interior is beautiful and they did an incredible job at renovating the space. There's an indoor area and a closed patio area, which is my favorite part of the restaurant! It has lush plants and palm trees and is so nice, especially in the dreary winter. For food, we got the carbonara pizza which was awesome, the cinnamon roll, and my husband got the poached egg crostone, which had the most perfect poached eggs! My friend got the Caesar salad and it had a really unique composition and he said it was great. My other friend got the waffles and loved them too! I wouldn't say any of the food was totally out of this world, but it was solid! I would love to come back and try this place for dinner, as I've heard awesome things about the pasta. read more

Great restaurant! I haven't been since it was Dean & DeLuca way back when. I loved what they did to the space. They definitely used the unique Georgetown-style architecture to construct an elegantly old-fashioned ambiance. We sat in the covered porch area and loved it. The green accents, unique light fixtures, open brick, and iron arches were awesome. I also liked how the reception area doubled as a small Italian market shop. Even the bathrooms were nice. 10/10 vibes all around. Service was great. Our waiter was super nice, and the hostesses were friendly. No complaints. For our appetizer, we had the asparagus burrata. The brown sugar glaze was unique but good (I did ask for the asparagus charred, and it wasn't really charred, but it was still tasty). The steak was solid--I liked the marinade & side salad and thought it was cooked well. My virgin mojito was refreshing. I went for my mom's birthday dinner, and they gave us a complimentary scoop of ice cream. Solid meal all around! read more

Osteria Mozza has a great ambiance-- inviting and great design. Perfect for a date night. The Little Gem Salad and the Orecchiette pasta were standouts. The pasta dishes are a bit small so I definitely recommend ordering an appetizer and secondi dish. We had bread, a salad, two pasta dishes and one secondi dish and left very satisfied. The Beef Tagliata was solid, while the cocktails were just okay but the wine with dinner was great. A great spot to add to your date night rotation if you can get a reservation! read more

Glad the former dean & deluca space has finally reopened with this lovely restaurant. I like the mini market area as an option to browse around while waiting. The host podium is more towards the middle of the restaurant. I also like that the restaurant is quite spacious. For brunch, the brussel sprouts salad was one of my favorites - nicely dressed and so elegantly presented. The tagliatelle was perfectly al dente. For dessert, the rosemary olive oil cakes with vanilla gelato was a lovely combination. I would reorder everything I tried. Our server was warm and provided great service. 3.5 - Cozy vibes and tasty bites in Georgetown The building is situated on the remains of the Georgetown Market. They beautifully redid the interior with a dark moody bar and cozy interior as well as a chic all glass conservatory-feel room. Had a reservation but took 10 minutes past that time to be seated as the place was packed - not an empty chair in sight. Service was super friendly. The latte was excellent with a small cookie. Pizza and rigatoni were good as well. I think this is a great option for the Georgetown area and would return to try the dinner menu. read more

We were so excited to finally make it into Osteria Mozza! It's an impressive and beautiful space that feels luxurious from the minute you walk in. We were seated in the enclosed glass space on the left side of the restaurant, and while we were initially disappointed to not be in the main room, it was an equally beautiful space full of lush plants. We were celebrating a birthday and were served small glasses of prosecco when we sat down to celebrate, which was such a nice touch. We also tried a few cocktails and really liked what we had- the Rosa Spritz was particularly good and had a nice fresh profile. It was so hard to decide what to order! We didn't love everything we tried, but the standouts were so good that they made up for the less impressive dishes. Everything we tried is below, but the standouts for us were the focaccia, the burricotta, and the hanger steak. - Arancini alla Bolognese: These were quite good, a serving came with three. Some of the better arancini I've had. - Foccacia di Recco (with prosciutto): This is a MUST ORDER. We saw why everyone always raves about this dish- it is SO good I didn't even get to take a picture, lol. It's Ligurian-style focaccia, so it was very flat and came with a layer of cheese in the middle- highly recommend adding on the prosciutto (I'm not usually a huge prosciutto fan but this was exceptional and the saltiness really complimented the rest of the dish). - Burricotta and walnuts: This was such an unusual bite and really delicious. Ut came with cheese, radicchio, candied walnuts, honey, and fried rosemary on top of what felt like a savory shortbread; there was some element in here that was surprisingly spicy, but it was a complex bite and really good. I will caution this was very hard to share with three people, it came with two servings and was extremely difficult to cut, but I'd absolutely order again. - Grilled beef tagliata (hanger steak): This was excellent, the balsamic added a really lovely sweetness to the steak. It initially came out rarer than we had ordered, but the kitchen fixed it immediately and a manager came over to our table to confirm it was to our liking, which was a nice touch. - Rigatoni carbonara: This was just okay- there was a sourness to this dish that we really didn't enjoy. Definitely not one of the better carbonaras I've had. - Winter squash side: This was also just okay- it came with Parmesan and dried fruit, but didn't have a ton of flavor, and the skin was very chewy. We had the nicest server, Luciano, who really made our experience special. Overall, we were very impressed and hope we can get in again to try brunch! read more

10 April 2026 Had dinner here recently and it was a lovely experience: freshly made, delicious Italian fare. We had arancini, fett'unta, mozza caprese, ragatoni alla carbonara, tagiatelle, and charred broccolini. Everything was perfect. A couple of shortcomings: $8.00 for bread with olive oil Quite small portions for pasta, even with the understanding that they are first plates. The wait staff could use some polishing. Our Waiter asked if we were done literally as we were mid bite with bread and delicious mozza capres waiting to be finished. We felt a little rushed by our waiter; maybe he was just uber efficient. read more

Food was excellent for the price. We tried the focaccia (which is flattery and crispier than traditional focaccia), three different pastas, and 2 sides for 2 people. We probably slightly over ordered but not substantially so. The pasta dishes are on the smaller side. This is not a place you're going to get seated without a reservation so make sure to plan ahead. I will say I did feel a bit rushed by the server at the end which was a bit of a bummer. But overall I had a great time and the food was very good. read more

KenScale: 8.25/10 Visit: January 2025 When I was a college student at Georgetown, Dean & DeLuca on M Street was one of the landmarks in the area filled with health obsessed and affluent grocers. By the time I returned to the DC area with my wife Jun, the store was closed. I had been wondering what place would occupy the former grocery space, and then came a blockbuster news that restaurateur Stephen Starr would partner with acclaimed Los Angeles chef Nancy Silverton to open a DC outpost of Silverton's Osteria Mozza. I had always wanted to try Osteria Mozza in LA (especially after Silverton was featured in the Netflix Chef's Table show so it was certainly a very exciting news. Ever since its opening last November, Osteria Mozza had quickly become one of the hottest dining destinations in the city. For our first date night of 2025, I decided we should check out the hype behind the restaurant. Overall, we had a very good meal with some showstoppers. During the holiday season last year, Jun and I stopped by a Whole Foods store and asked a young staff member behind the ham section to carve out some prosciutto slices for us. It turned out to be a disaster with the staff member completely bungling the slicing of the ham so we ended up with uneven textures all across. That is perhaps why I very appreciated just how perfect the texture of prosciutto that came with very gently smoked mozzarella cheese to start the meal. According to the press, Starr knew he wanted to collaborate with Silverton after tasting her iconic focaccia de Recco. The thin slices of focaccia (with stracchino cheese inside) were indeed quite wonderful, even with a rather hefty $26 price tag, that we ended up finishing the entire pie (I think next time we try the focaccia again, we should bring a friend or two to share). Our server, perhaps sensing that we had done our fair share of Italian dining experience, wisely steered us toward dishes that are not as well known as Italian restaurants. My favorite dish of the night was the corzetti stampati pasta accompanied by seared eggplant, olives and ricotta cheese. Jun thought the seasoning was a little too overpowering for her palate, but I absolutely loved the explosion of flavor without using any meats. Jun's favorite dish, on the other hand, was half duck confit with Brussels sprouts and pear mostarda (think a spicy Italian condiment with mustard, almost tasting like wasabi). I thought the duck could lose some salt, but agreed with Jun that the duck meat's texture was otherwise quite remarkable, especially with the spicy kick from the mostarda providing a very nice balance. For dessert, we split another famous dish from Silverton, a butterscotch budino with decadent caramel sauce that would win over any sweet tooth. Not surprisingly, getting a reservation for a table at Osteria Mozza requires advance planning, even with a relatively spacious dining room. The sleek, upscale dining space was already bustling with handsome crowds when we showed up for early dinner around 5 p.m. If you luck out on the table seating, perhaps you can grab seats at the central bar area that serves the same menu. The Italian wine list at the restaurant was quite impressive, too, covering diverse areas of Italy with very well-known producers and (somewhat surprisingly) at not totally unreasonable price points. When a star chef opens a new restaurant, it doesn't always fully reflect the best the chef can showcase to the diners, perhaps due to his or her commitments in multiple projects. To that end, I was very glad to see what Osteria Mozza delivered with very high level of execution on Italian food with Silverton's California ethos. We will be sure to be back to try other dishes on the menu. read more

Very solid, what you'd expect from Starr/Nancy. Food was delicious, service was attentive, pacing was good, space is beautiful. Dishes run small overall - get more to share. The pastas (especially carbonara and orecchiete) and salads were great, I'd skip pizza (believe this is only brunch), which was a nice thin crust but nothing extraordinary. The burger is very similar to le burger americain, the tuna melt has awesome bread and a fried cheese crust. read more

The negative review comes mostly from the experience we had with our server. From the very beginning he seemed kind of judgmental about what we wanted to order. He kept trying to insert his recommendations, and when he was taking our order he wasn't listening and we'd have to correct him. He also wasn't helpful with my friends dietary restrictions. The vibes got progressively worse, and he started asking us differential questions which came across as a bit rude. Once we got to dessert he stopped taking care of us and we had to flag down another waiter to get the check and pay. First impressions really matter. The space is stunning and the food was top notch, but I wish the negative experience with our server didn't sour my opinion. read more

Osteria Mozza is, without exaggeration, one of the most refined and complete dining experiences I've had in DC. Nestled in Georgetown, the space immediately sets the tone. It strikes that rare balance between upscale and inviting. The ambiance feels intentional without being pretentious, with a layout that makes every table feel like the right table. The menu is where things truly elevate. What I appreciated most is how effortlessly they execute dishes that appear simple on paper but are incredibly layered in flavor. The handmade pastas are the obvious highlight. Dishes like the tagliatelle Bolognese and orecchiette are rich, balanced, and cooked with precision. You can tell there's a deep respect for technique here. Brunch is equally impressive. Items like the poached egg crostone, smoked salmon crostone, and the mozzarella breakfast show just how well they bridge classic Italian influence with modern brunch expectations. Nothing feels gimmicky, just thoughtful and well-composed. The mozzarella bar deserves its own mention. It's not just a feature, it's the heart of the restaurant. The quality of the cheese and pairings is on another level, and it's one of those experiences you don't skip. Service was attentive without hovering. Staff were knowledgeable, confident in their recommendations, and clearly proud of what they're serving. That kind of energy elevates the entire meal. And then there's the overall execution. From the cocktails to the pacing of courses, everything feels curated. Even the smaller details, like the bread service and presentation, are done with intention. This is the type of place where you come for a meal and end up having an experience. It lives up to the hype and then some, which is rare, especially in a city like DC where expectations are already high. I'll absolutely be back, and next time, I'm coming ready to explore even more of the menu. read more

I am a big fan of Eataly, Osteria Mozza in LA, and Pizzeria Mozza in LA, so I was excited to see that Osteria Mozza was opening a location in a stunning space in the Georgetown area of D.C. I was promptly informed, however, by our waiter that this was a Stephen Starr restaurant, nothing to do with Bastianich and no mention of Nancy Silverton. Ok. Got it. As others have mentioned, the space is beautifully done and feels good. The Mozza Caprese ($18) described as "basil pesto & slow roasted tomatoes on the vine" was absolutely delicious. The Tagliatelle Bolognese ($24) was delicious and perfectly portioned for what you are supposed to eat, smaller than what you'd like to eat. The side of Roasted Market Carrots ($14) described as "dill yogurt, cumin & coriander" were ok. The service was a bit condescending and uneven. We were told several times that Chef needs to have our entire order, so after we ordered an appetizer, pastas, a side, and drinks, the response was "so you're not hungry? Chef wants the entire order." We wanted to enjoy our New Years Eve dinner and determine how hungry we were as the meal wore on - intending to add if we wanted, or enjoy what we had. Waters went unfilled, drinks came individually, and twice (although they didn't leave the second :)). Bottom line: the ambiance and food was great, the service such a detractor that we'll likely not return. There are tons of great restaurants in town, why go somewhere where the service takes away from the experience? read more

I was in Georgetown for a jazz show down the street at Blues Alley and decided to try for a walk in at the bar at 5:00. I'd say me and about 8 other people had the same idea. But they have so much bar seating, there was plenty of room. It was totally full by 5:20 though, so if you have trouble finding a reservation, keep that in mind while they are really hot! I do need to go back because all I was able to try was the Mezze Maniche alla carbonara and a cocktail on my first go around. The pasta was delicious and I can't wait to try more. I wish they had more cocktail options. Honestly most of them didn't appeal to me. I also love the little italian market near the entrance. read more

Osteria Mozza is the hot new restaurant in DC and it mostly delivers. The food delicious, the space gorgeous, the service solid if a bit uneven, but a bit pricey for the portions. It's a tough reservation to get, but I snagged one for four people at 5 PM about four weeks in advance. Coincidentally, we visited a few days after a positive review in the Washington Post, which informed a few dishes we got. I visited with four people and we got three starters, two pastas, and two entrees, plus drinks. That was enough to be comfortably full. The Gordon's Cup ($17, basically a Pimm's Cup) was a hit, with three of our party ordering it. It was bright, light, and refreshing. The Negroni Classico ($16) was a solid negroni, if a bit thin IMO. We also had a bottle of wine. I'm not a wine guy, so no opinion there, except that the wine list is pretty expensive -- it was even called out in the recent Post review. All of the food was really good. The focaccia di recco ($26) was nothing like the focaccia I know, but instead a delightfully thin, cheesy, and crispy dish that reminded me of tavern-style pizza; it's the same size and shape, and was sliced the same way (into squares). It's apparently a must-get, classic Silverton dish. The burrata with leek ($18) and Nancy's Caesar ($24) were also delicious. The flavors really popped, especially on the caesar, which is mostly a DIY affair. The orecchiette ($26) with a sausage ragu and toasted breadcrumbs was a success, although the temperature a bit uneven. The trout ($34) with peas, cabbage, and egg was very tasty, and a surprising presentation with bright white hardboiled egg slices on top. The combination was unusual but delicious. Our side of broccolini ($16) was simple and a decent portion size. Our table got, but I didn't try, the tagliatelle bolognese ($24) and grilled beef tagliata ($39) -- hanger steak with arugula. I didn't hear any complaints. The restaurant space is gorgeous and enormous, if a bit confusing. The small market in the front gives way to the mozzarella bar, then the drinks bar, and then finally the host stand and most of the table seating. Thanks to other Yelp reviews, I knew to look for the host stand in the middle of the restaurant, but it was still a bit tricky to find. It's a step down from the bar area, and can be obscured if the bar is busy or staff are bustling about. I was worried about the service, based on number of negative Yelp reviews. I am glad to say our service was mostly good. We had one waiter throughout dinner, plus a helpful and friendly visit from the sommelier, and a few difference bussers delivering dishes and clearing plates. They refreshed our plates and cutlery after each course, which was fine, but a bit unnecessary and overeager. We still had pieces of our focaccia left when they cleared plates, and then later still had broccolini left when they cleared them again. I gave them some in-the-moment feedback about this and they were apologetic. They folded my napkin when I went to the restroom, which is a nice touch that more restaurants need to do. The brightest spot in the service was when we got a complementary scoop of gelato with a birthday candle. I did not mention a birthday on the reservation, but they evidently overheard us wishing our friend a happy birthday and brought the dessert. I have never seen a restaurant pick up on this without being told. Even if this only happens 1 in a 100 times, I was still impressed. Overall, a very good meal. I would not go out of my way to visit again, given many other excellent restaurants in the city and the fact that I avoid Georgetown as much as possible, but I'm glad to have visited. read more

Welcome to Georgetown, Osteria Mozza! We tried Chef Silverton's restaurants when we were out west, and it was nice seeing a location open up in D.C.! Their grand opening was on 11/10, and they took over the space that was once Dean & Deluca. We came here for an early dinner, making reservations in advance - we started off with: +Marinated Olives & Cacio di Roma +Anchovy Stuffed Pickled Peppers +Nancy's Favorite Trio from their Mozzarella Bar - this came with mozzarella di bufala, Cantabrian anchovies, semi-dried tomatoes, and cruschi peppers with fett'unta +the Burricotta & Artichokes from their Mozzarella Bar - with Sicilian pine nuts, currants, and mint pesto +Burrata & Braised Leeks from their Mozzarella Bar - with mustard vinaigrette and breadcrumbs +the Burricotta & Walnuts from their Mozzarella Bar - with radicchio, honeycomb, and fried rosemary For our mains, we tried: +the Spaghetti alla Calabrese - with Cantabrian anchovies and olive oil croutons +the Ricotta & Egg Raviolo - with browned butter +the Corzetti Stampati - with eggplant, taggiasca olives, and ricotta +the Tagliatelle - with oxtail ragu +and, the Grilled Porcini-Rubbed Bone-in Ribeye - with fingerling potatoes and rosemary; there was an option to finish this with a 24-year aged aceto balsamico at an upcharge, which we partook in We wanted to have some accompanying sides, so we tried their Roasted Market Carrots (with dill yogurt, cumin, and coriander) and the Charred Broccolini (with garlic & lemon-mustard vinaigrette). The interior has high ceilings with the exposed brick, and I loved their little mini market that features fresh produce. Staff were welcoming and kind! I split the Nancy's Caesar (which I had loved from dinner and was just as good) and the Croque Madame pizza, and both were delicious. Would highly recommend. Online, I had seen a carbonara quiche but didn't see it on the print menu in person. The sheet tray cinnamon sounded delicious but we just didn't have room. Service was great and the decor remained beautiful; no complaints. read more

I wanted to check this place out for a while. I finally got to have dinner. The indoor ambiance whereas where the greenhouse area is it seems to have more light than the main dining area. It's great to see that a restaurant has taken over the former Dean and Deluca area. Service was great as they seem to have a lot of staff onhand to ensure that customers have the best experience. They have a front bar area with store items on the side. I will check the bar area sometime, but good to see there are new places to eat in Georgetown. read more

I hate being that person, but I'm deducting stars for the weird service experience here. When we entered we told one of the hosts, who was standing around by the entrance holding a tablet, that we had a reservation. I thought he just had a case of gay customer service voice like I do, but my friend thought he sounded condescending when he responded to us. He then told us to wait on the side of the host stand while there was a long line of parties going the other direction. He didn't explain what was going on to us and why we were randomly standing to the side. The hostesses at the host stand did not glance at us for even a second to acknowledge that we were waiting there. We asked two of the employees standing around if we were in the right place, but they never came back to give us an answer. After almost 10min of total radio silence just standing there, the other line ended and they finally started helping us. The people lined up behind us were very confused, too, by the lack of communication and the long wait just to get seated. We both had reservations. I also just thought it was weird that there were maybe 6-7 people crowded at the host stand, most of whom were just standing there, but not one of them could acknowledge us or explain to us what was going on. In the end, I think they simply started a new line, but the lack of communication or acknowledgement was baffling. The other thing is that they took forever to take our order. Typically, soon after you're seated, a restaurant will take your drink order. Then once drinks are served they'll take your food order. However, our server said the bar was really busy so our drinks were taking forever. So we sat around hungry for another 10-15min before we were finally able to flag down our server and put in our food order. Maybe it's just my personal preference, but I would rather put in my food order sooner rather than wait around just to be able to order with a drink in my hand. The food was great, and I was blown away by the focaccia, but I don't think I'll be back because of the service. read more

I had been highly anticipating the opening of this restaurant, and I did go in with some high expectations. Things didn't start on the right foot--we had a reservation and when we're got inside, there was a couple standing at a station right by the entrance waiting to be seated. We joined their line. It slowly started to pile up, with about 10 guests gathered in the front waiting to be seated. It turns out, the host's desk is behind the bar in the middle of the restaurant and we were at the (closed) checkout counter for their market goods. What bothered me is that a full 15 minutes passed before someone in our line went to investigate, and no one paid us any attention or offered to help a small crowd of people that were clearly looking for something. We started off with a number of bread and cheese appetizers, all of which were amazing. The gnocco fritto was my favorite, with the mozzarella and condimenti as a close second. The mezze maniche and orecchiette pastas were perfectly al dente, but were oddly too salty. Not beyond being inedible, but we all downed a glass of water over the course of finishing them. It was as if they were worried about it being bland and had overcorrected. To be clear, it was still good, but I definitely expected better. One of the desserts however was one of my favorite desserts in recent memory. The rosemary olive oil cakes were perfectly sweet with a crunchy exterior and fluffy interior. The accompanying olive oil gelato was also phenomenal. The other dessert we ordered was straciatella gelato. There is another dessert on the menu that features coconut straciatella gelato, but when they mentioned individual scoop flavors they didn't mention coconut so we thought it was a traditional cream based gelato. Luckily there were no allergies. Overall, I would definitely like to come back in a couple of months after they've had time to work out some kinks! I do think it's a great addition to the area and I look forward to giving this place a full 5 stars one day! read more

My husband and I went for an early dinner and drinks on a Wednesday at 345 pm. The restaurant doesn't seat for dinner until 5 pm and the area they placed us had a very limited menu. We went elsewhere and came back for a cocktail and were told to sit at the backside of the bar but there was no seating. So we were "allowed" to sit at the front side which doesn't allow for ordering anything but drinks and is essentially a prep station for caprese salads where customers are eating and drinking. I drank my martini in the oddest glass-which was good-while watching the prep, assembly and distribution of several salads. I'm not sure why the model is to seat customers at a prep station and not move that to the kitchen area where all prep and assembly for food is done. Overall, drinks were good, ambience is amazing, bar situation is weird at best. read more
