This is a great place to get Mexican food. It doesn't kill your wallet to eat here. They make the food after you order, so it's fresh. The food tastes delicious. They have great choices for beverages. There is plenty of seating inside. It has more of a fast food atmosphere than a restaurant atmosphere, so it feels kind of odd. Being from California this is about as close to get to a California style Mexican taco shop (heck they even have a California burrito). They have a great selection and the food is really great including the shrimp burrito. Like a California shop they offer the carrots which I haven't seen anywhere here. the tacos are probably a little over priced, but the rest of the prices are more than fair. For fast food, it doesn't get any better than this. Consistently good, great portions for the (slightly higher than expected for fast food) price, so a very good value for the money. They don't skimp on anything here. The young ladies working there make eye contact and smile. That's unusual in the fast food industry. They blow taco bell out of the water when it comes to Mexican fast food. They have great 2 for 1 deals in clippers magazine. The only drawback is that they get bum rushed for the lunch hour and it takes forever to get your food. read more

I've only been to Oscar's twice but that's enough to convince me that this place is pretty delish. Both times I've gotten it to go and haven't had to wait more than 10 minutes for everything. Their pastor is pretty awesome, not too hot like many places serve. I've also had the chicken tacos and the fish tacos as well. The fish tacos were fried cod and tasted more on the fish stick side so I will see if they offer a fresh fish taco instead. Their combo deals are pretty awesome and affordable. I got two tacos, rice, beans and a drink for around $8. Definitely affordable and tasty. I will be back for sure. :) read more

After getting denied at another eating venue (they were closed during normal business hours), I got back on Yelp and found Oscar's. It was a ways out from my travel area, but the reviews and food pics lured me into Oscars Taco Shop. I'm glad a chose this place. On a cold night, there was a wonderfully diverse clientele eating at many of the numerous tables. Older folks, younger folks, all kinds of folks enjoying their delicious meals. I ordered the carne asada burrito ($7.29), a shredded beef taco($2.79), and a shrimp taco($3.09) for $14.45 total. The burrito was AMAZING! It was about as round as a Fosters Big Beer and stuffed with spicy, but not hot, beef bits. It didn't have a lot of fillers like lettuce, sour cream, cheese, but I'm sure I could have asked for them. The tacos were tasty, but for a little more $$$ than I'm used to paying. Nonetheless, this place seems like a wonderful getaway from the chains and offers a delightful array of flavors to suit whatever taste you're seeking. read more

This is the best Mexican food in middle TN, not just the Boro. Dine in or carry out. Not real hungry, get a taco, it's really two. I love to share the Super Nacho cause I can't eat it by myself. Don't get me wrong, their portion sizes are big enough for a hungry person and if everyone orders something different, it's a feast!! If I have to pick a favorite it would be the Quesadillas, any meat, BUT that's this week. I'm probably on my second trip through the menu. The meat is real meat; chunks of chicken, shredded beef, , it's not ground beef. The seasoning is superb and the sauces are really good. Service is great and if you don't want to wait, don't go at 12:00 or at 5:30. Options: Bacon, ham, steak, chorizo, or machaca (equivalent of beef jerk per internet search) Location: Directly across the street from KFC. Store front is rather non-descript. Parking: Not huge, decent enough. Shared with another business or two. These are nice fat burritos, not those sad burritos you buy at some places and look at them and second guess whether or not you order a taquito. I had the bacon, egg and cheese one and I will say that if was filled with bacon. I added potatoes for $.50. I asked to add green chilies but the only thing they had was jalapenos. That was a bit disappointing. You are given a choice of sauces on the side so I picked the "hot" green sauce. I would say it was more of a medium. Breakfast burritos do not come with a side. Total cost for two with added potatoes about $11.00. Restrooms: One single room for each sex, no extra stalls. Clean and neat. *Since we left Colorado my husband has been in search of a decent breakfast burrito and this is the first one we found that he was happy with. These aren't spicy burritos but they are fat and blow fast food places out of the water in Murfreesboro. read more
