That means expect salsas to be spicy and absolutely everything to be exploding with taste. Service is great, you order at the counter and they will answer all your questions. If from other, this isn't Taco Bell or anything like the others up or down the street. Real deal. Amazing version of Birria (beef, not goat - and I'm not sure if they have chivo). Served with a side of drippings broth, and dipping is heaven. Caldo de Res is real. Rarely found in full servings, this is a meal by itself and probably enough for 2-3 people. The house made salsas in the refrigerator next to the fountain drinks are perfection. Green is the sluicy Jalapeño crema often accompanying street tacos. Mexico Tipico is my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant in the boro. Think no free chips and salsa and margs. Though they do have beer. I have ordered everything from tacos to their soups to their different plates. Everything is awesome. It's order up front and they bring it to you and they have a drive through as well. My daughter and I met here for lunch last week and it was pretty busy but the service was good. I ordered the taquito plate and my daughter had the chimichanga. My daughter's chimichanga was served wet with rice and beans and my taquitos came cut up with rice and beans. The tortillas on my taquitos were crispy on the ends but soggy in the middle so I only ate the chicken filling which was good. The rice and beans were ok, nothing special. So I don't have anything to compare them to, but they tasted great to me. Crunchy outside with a meaty inside. The red and green sauce were good too. They had a slight kick to them and were so flavorful. The carnitas really disappointed me tho. They were extremely dry and didn't taste very good. Carnitas are not supposed to be dry at all. I've been to México Típico Restaurante many times for breakfast and those incredible Birra Tacos and breakfast Burritos but this was my first time for dinner. Dined with a friend and we had a wide variety of food from Sopa de Albondigas (meatball soup), Mulitas Carnitas, Sopes Spicy Pork, and Carne Asada. Everything was really good, portions are huge, and the meals arrived hot. The Sopes was OK neither of us cares for the tortilla part. They were extremely busy but from placing your order at the register you had your food within 10 minutes.
