Finally... A burrito that comes close to what we used to get back in California! We've been…read moresearching for so long and I had honestly given up multiple times, but like all great explorers, we endured and persevered. Taqueria Lupita is a great spot nestled inside a gas station market. As soon as we walked in, I knew we were in for a treat. The smell of meat on the griddle and the aroma of toasted tortillas met our noses and it made my mouth instantly start salivating. The team behind the counter was working fast and got our order out super quick. I opted for a chicken burrito and it took all of my self control to keep from eating it on the drive home. But like all great explorers of old, we had to take our bounty back to the motherland for all to enjoy. I cut it open and see what the cross section looked like, and it was practically perfect. I forgot to ask for avocado, so that's on me. We got the red and green salsas with it and they were both great. I loved the roasty undertones and heat of the red salsa. The first bite of this burrito took me back to another place, far from Tennessee. It was a glorious first bite. The melty cheese, the rice, beans and the chicken combined to make the most delicious symphony of flavors. I can't say enough good things about this burrito, you have to try it for yourself. I'm eager to try more things on their menu, especially the torta, it looked amazing.

As soon as we saw the (previously Oakland) Raiders logo, we knew it was gonna be good! I got the steak (asada) burrito - it came with rice, beans, meat, sour cream, and lettuce. If I had to give a critique, I'd say it's just missing a little guac. But oh my word, this burrito transported me right back to California! The flavors were spot on, the ratios were perfect. It may have taken us five years, but we finally found a Mexican spot that will definitely be in our rotation. It's located inside a small gas station, which confused us at first. But once we walked in, it was clear where to order. Both guys working seemed extremely kind and helpful, and overall just happy to be serving people incredible food.

That means expect salsas to be spicy and absolutely everything to be exploding with taste. Service is great, you order at the counter and they will answer all your questions. The place is relatively big and can accommodate big groups. They also have a drive through. Family friendly and plenty of parking outside. Just a heads up, the area is super sketchy. But I've never felt unsafe.

If from other, this isn't Taco Bell or anything like the others up or down the street. Real deal. Amazing version of Birria (beef, not goat - and I'm not sure if they have chivo). Served with a side of drippings broth, and dipping is heaven. Caldo de Res is real. Rarely found in full servings, this is a meal by itself and probably enough for 2-3 people. The house made salsas in the refrigerator next to the fountain drinks are perfection. Green is the sluicy Jalapeño crema often accompanying street tacos. And the Red is a roasted chipotle style with the more upfront heat. Parking is plentiful. Service is order, take a number and seat yourself. Large patio when the weather permits.

He recommended the Quesabirrias but I was craving standard tacos tonight. I ordered a cheese dip with chips and a couple of their salsa cups came with it and decided on the Tacos Al Carbon and a Mexican Coke (hence the $3.50 price tag). I sat down and within minutes the appetizer arrived and a few minutes later the tacos arrived. The cheese dip was good...pretty standard and their salsa was a surprise, good flavor, smooth, and no heat if that is a concern. The taco's were OK but were more like a cheesesteak taco versus the flavors you expect for Al Carbon (cilantro, garlic, jalapeño) especially seemed to be missing the "cooked over coal" part. Now the tacos were good, I added some lime juice and salsa for added flavor, and I liked how the tortilla was grilled and the onions were Al dente. But overall it really didn't fit the bill for "Al Carbon" steak. I will visit them again and check out some of the other items I saw being delivered to tables. The place is clean, love the artwork, and the service was solid. I'm not gonna debate what restaurants are having to pay for their products and charge for their food, but the cost of dining out is getting crazy.

Considering the amount of customers at lunch time, there's no way they got this dirty today. 3. Food was mid at BEST. Basic tasteless ingredients smothered in queso. 4. Value for money was not there at all.

I popped in one day after running errands around Murfreesboro and when I first saw that it was an old BK converted into Mexican restaurant, I thought to myself this is either going to be distrusting or delicious, and lucky for me it was the latter! El Cubilete serves up authentic Mexican food, and while you can still get the classics you are used to, they focus a lot on the true Mexican classics. Being the gringo I am, I went with my tried and true chicken, rice and cheese sided with some chori-queso. While the order was basic, the food itself was not. The queso, chips, chicken, tortillas and everything was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. To with the food, they brought out their house red and green sauce. SPICY is an understatement, but I could handle in small dabs, and through that realized while the green was milder, the red had better flavor. But honestly it was lose-lose for me with those sauces. In addition to the food, they have a small drink menu with beers, frozen drinks and a solid selection of agua frescas. Service was stellar. The owner was super kind, welcoming me in, checking on me during my meal and ultimately ringing me out. All the servers were friendly and helpful. Overall, odd layout and set up, along with service being communal (everyone serves everyone together), which is a bit odd...but even with all that, the food and service speak up and stand alone. Great spot with good folks and tasty food! I would certainly swing back through when in Murfreesboro.
