I decided to try La Siesta Mexican restaurant today. I was able to conveniently place an online order through their website for pick up. The online ordering feature is great because it allows some customization. After entering the restaurant, I immediately decided that I would have to return to dine in. They have lots of different drinks specials available, and the restaurant had an upbeat ambience. My order is available on time for my scheduled pick up. I had already paid so checkout with quick and convenient. Side note, they do offer a 3+% when you pay cash. I ordered the Chicken and Guiso Mexicano with extra onions. The Guiso was a little different than expected. However, both meals were very tasty and nice and hot, and their portions were definitely generous. I look forward to my return to pair my meal with some tasty of drinks. read more

Maybe we ordered the wrong things but not my cup of tea for Mexican. The food came out fast but it was not as good. Nachos are generally good at any Mexican restaurant, unfortunately it failed here. My husband also agreed. We could definitely make them at home and taste a lot better then what was served here. The horchata was super sweet and didn't taste as fresh. The tamale was a sorry looking and tasteless tamale. The fajitas that my sister in law ordered was good so like I said, maybe my husband and I ordered the wrong thing. read more

Doesn't look like much, attached to a pretty run down hotel with big rigs stored long term here, but we have been going to La Siesta for about 15 years now, longer if you want to count the other locations in town. They say they have the best margaritas in town. They are not lying. We meet friends all over for mexican fare and margaritas often. Hands down, our favorite place for a pitcher of top shelf margaritas. They are just that good. If you like mexican pork dishes, this is your joint. Their pork is insane. So incredibly tender and delicious. We really have never had a bad experience here in any form. Food - always on point, beef and chicken as well. Service - it can be a little slow, but usually very good. They have an outside patio where you can sit on nice days, but the view isn't all that pretty since you are either looking at a parking lot full of trucks or Hwy 231 where it meets I-24. So drink a margarita and look at your dining pals instead. read more

This place used to be pretty good, but tonight the food was GROSS. The nachos had no flavor whatsoever was definitely missing something. The taco salad was so watery it should have been called taco soup. The lettuce was very brown and the meat was so dry it was gross. The only thing that was good were the chips, salsa, queso and the margaritas. We will not be back again. We held a meet n greet here and will be moving it elsewhere next month. We have been eating at this location for 20 years at least 3 or 4 times a month. They have the best carne asada I've ever tasted. They also have the best salsa! The food is always good and more than I can eat and the price is reasonable. The servers all know us and seem genuinely happy to see us every time we go in. I recommend the #16 with a twist. Added Onions, Jalapeños, and cheese sauce to the chicken! So good and the Green Salsa is the best in town! Always great service and Carlos greets me with a hand shake every time he sees us. You don't get that to many places these days! read more

Conveniently located right off the interstate, this was a great lunch stop for our family of five. We went on a Saturday at noon and were seated with no wait. There is ample space, including outdoor seating. We were served quickly, with our drinks and appetizers arriving almost instantly. Our server was very friendly and checked on us often. I stopped in to pick up our dinner which my husband called in. I loved the atmosphere there and even text him while I was waiting telling him we need to eat in next time. That is where the good review stops. I went to pay once they called me up and I'm not sure if it was the language barrier or something else (I want to believe it was language) but he was unable to explain the cost to me. I even called my husband to ask what total he was given on the phone; he said he wasn't given an amount. The man first said $48 once I questioned it he lowered it to $42. I'm fine with paying for whatever we ordered however it just greatly shocked me that 2 meals, quesadilla, and 2 tacos came to that price. we always oredred the same items at Camino but it has NEVER cost anywhere near that even with 2 chocolate chimichangas.... I stupidly just gave up and paid his amount then rushed home to eat. Other than the quesadilla, the food was awful. The "steak" in the burrito was rubbery and tasted very odd. The tacos were not good and all the sides of rice and beans were very small. Needless to say, we will not be returning solely based on the refusal for a cost breakdown/receipt. read more

Mexican food is my comfort food, and La Siesta consistently delivers great food and exceptional service. Attached to the Select Inn just off the interstate, it's the kind of place many might pass up as it might appear a bit shady. However, in 5 years of it being our go to Mexican restaurant, I've never left disappointed. The rich, deep and savory brown sauce that tops the enchiladas sets them apart from the standard red sauce many others use. The chicken - whether it be grilled or shredded - is flavorful, juicy and melt in your mouth tender. The rice is just that. Rice. No vegetables to add bulk, resulting in perfectly cooked, simply delicious rice. I also love their fish tacos, and the California burrito is a masterpiece. The service is always friendly, and we rarely ever wait to be seated. Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen in this area, but La Siesta is special. read more

All right here we go... I love mexican food. I think I just like endless chips and salsa. So I had to hit up Sams Club in Murfreesboro and said screw it lets eat at a Mexican Restaraunt we've never eaten at. I see La Siesta. Me being the wierdo, thought to myself. (This has gotta be a dump it's attached to a run down hotel!! Hell yes!!!) It's one of those places if your heading toward Chattanooga on 24 or coming toward Nashville, its right there off the exit. But my Chicken Chimichunga was the size of a Krystal burger!! It was good but I want FOOOD!! My wife ordered the Chicken Fajita Quesadilla It was basically just a crappy taco. She hated it and did'nt eat it. Then I felt bad for picking the place. Then as i was eating the chips and salsa she said " How can you like that salsa its spaghetti sauce with pepper?". Then I realized this is some chunky spaghetti sauce with spices!!! but i kept eating it. Overall my food was'nt horrible. The place was clean. The waitress was very friendly. It's just not a place I will personally go back to. The crazy thing is, is that there is one in Smyrna, where I live. The menu is different, food is excellent. I took my daughter there for her birthday. I saw it on the front of my menu, and thought " this will be good" I'm done now. It's something for us to laugh about. read more

Went for the karaoke on a friday night. We arrived early and the place was about empty. By the time the karaoke started the place was packed. Several regulars were very entertaining. Kids had fun. Food was hot, but nothing special. I"ve had better, and worse. We'll be back. read more

Great margarita! The taco was pretty tasty. The chili rellenos were not crispy...apparently not even an option so they were weird. Also, mine was stuffed with beef, as was my enchilada and I was never asked what I wanted in them. There is not a crosswalk or anything to aid crossing the street from the truck stop, so you're pretty much risking your life near an interstate on/off ramp. read more

La siesta is my home away from home in Tennessee ever since a whim brought me here during a brief hiccup in freight left me twiddling my thumbs at the truck stop. I invited my student for dinner so I wasn't so awkward and Jose hooked up just what we didn't know we wanted for dinner and it was exactly on the money. I really love La Siesta. When I lived in M'boro, we'd come here pretty frequently - I came back this past weekend and still loved it. The food is good and the service is always pretty quick. Don't let the location deter you. While it is attached to a hotel,the food is fresh and tasty. My wife had the taco salad and I had the mixed fajitas. Both were fresh and had good flavor. The decor was typical Mexican,and was clean Only suggestion I would add is they should put ice bags in he pitchers of beer to keep cold. We will return. read more
