Friday evening here is busy. Happy hours 3-5pm and I missed. But the drinks here were delicious. The service getting the food out was fast. kids menu chicken quesadilla was great. My daughter enjoyed it very much. Molecajete dish was more than enough for one person. The meat was well seasoned and loaded. The parking lot a bit small since it is shared with other businesses. Parking tight for bigger trucks. But overall very easy to find.

Ok, I must confess I was a bit skeptical. Many Mexican places but hard to find an authentic one. I would categorize this as nicer than most but not high end. It that makes sense. They have full bar and the drink menu was is on point. We tried the mezcal old fashioned and it was delicious. Be aware, mezcal is more of an acquire taste. They have a lunch menu and we found it more affordable too. It runs from 11-2. The food was authentic and tasty. The service was great, from the moment we walked in, they acknowledged us and waited less than 5mins to be seated. They have background music playing to it can be aloud. Totally family friendly.

Service seemed a little slow given that it wasn't busy for this late lunch/early dinner time of 3PM. Our server was nice and knowledgeable once she arrived. Had the Mexican Mule which was really good and had just enough alcohol. For food, had the shrimp ceviche and steak street tacos. Everything was presented really nice but was lacking in flavor/seasoning. I had to ask for more limes for my ceviche. The steak was bland. Overall, I suppose a decent experience and quantity of food and drink for ~$55 (includes tip). Would I go back---possibly if on the area and wanted a good drink and chips/salsa. Not on my list for a return visit anytime soon though.

It was very busy when we arrived with several large groups. We waited as the hostess cleared a table and in less than five minutes we went from the door to our table. Our server was busy but efficient. Our dinner order was taken and delivered very quickly considering all the people. Our dinners were fresh off the grill, tasty, and satisfying.

Really enjoyed our visit to Casa Tio's. I had the cochinita pibil, which was flavorful, tender, and a differentiator than most of the other typical Mexican restaurants along with other menu items. My wife ordered Tio's nachos with steak, and they were better than average, quality steak, and a generous portion. Service was friendly and the overall experience was excellent. We'll definitely be back.

Food was hot and fresh. The Salmon Salad was my favorite. The cheese dip was delicious. They have great drinks. Service was great. Our server was well informed and friendly.

AMAZING Mexican food in Murfreesboro! We moved here from Texas four years ago and have yet to find good Mexican food. Presentation, service and quality was outstanding! We had the TENDEDERO DE TACOS as an appetizer, we got chicken and potato - the chicken was wonderful! For our main course we got the TROMPITO DE PASTOR and my husband and I shared that. It was huge! We have plenty of leftovers. Meat was cooked perfectly, the onions and grilled pineapple was perfectly paired. Corn tortillas were delish! So glad we found this gem

First of all, this is not your ordinary Mexican food, this is INTERIOR. And no offense to the first idiotic review on here, but Camino Real is trash compared to this place because again, it's NOT TexMex. You're going to pay more for better quality. Some of you need to learn the difference between Interior Mexican and TexMex because there is a BIG difference. Our waiter, Santos, was very prompt and on top of everything so the service was great. We loved the interior of the restaurant. It's very cozy and relaxed. The food was wonderful and the Interior flavors were delicious. I highly recommend getting the Enchiladas Mole because the mole was so smooth, not spicy, and not chunky like I've had at other places. My husband and my dad loved their dishes as well. Great job everyone and so glad to have you on this side of the Boro!

We are from Texas and it's been a challenge to find good Mexican food. Casa Tios is a long awaited blessing! The restaurant has nice esthetics and the food is fabulous! The food presentation lets you know it's going to be a great experience and it does not mislead. It will be one of our weekly spots for lunch or dinner.

Casa Tio's: A Love Letter to Real Mexican Food! We tried a new restaurant last night that's only been open about six weeks, but it already feels like it's been feeding happy people for generations. Casa Tio's isn't your typical Middle Tennessee Mexican spot. No sizzling fajita parade. No neon cheese waterfall. Just honest, authentic food that makes you realize how much of what we call "Mexican" around here has been missing the soul. Salvador, the owner, was seated with some guests when we walked in. He popped right up to greet us. Not the polite kind of greeting you get at a host stand, but the kind that feels genuine. We asked how they handle gluten allergies, and he was all about that conversation, which blew me away. Most of the menu is safe if you skip fried foods and flour tortillas, and they even flag allergens in the kitchen. I've had that conversation at plenty of places, and it's usually awkward. Here, it was expected, and Salvador made it easy. We immediately felt like we were in a safe environment for my Celiac family members. When we asked about chips and salsa, Salvador said the chips share a fryer with the enchiladas. Before disappointment could set in, he said, "We can bring you pork rinds." Those chicharrones went great with the Guacamole Casero, served en molcajete, that heavy lava rock bowl that means business. It was freshly prepared with Hass avocado, tomato, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and lime juice. Simple and perfect. I swear that guac could run for mayor and win. My wife ordered the Piña Hawaiana, served inside half a pineapple. I've only seen food like that on vacation. It was packed with grilled shrimp, portobello mushrooms, onions, pineapple chunks, and melted Oaxaca cheese. It came with rice, beans, and salad, but the pineapple was the real show-off. I thought about asking for a bite, then remembered her "glares equal fork stabs" rule. The food looked amazing, but I like my hands just the way they are at the moment. Our son went with the Molcajete, the lava rock bowl's big brother, and that's where the show really started. He's in his early twenties, and any time we invite him to a no-strings-attached dinner, the answer is always yes. But this time wasn't about free food. The dish came out sizzling in that stone bowl piled high with chicken, steak, shrimp, and chorizo cooked with peppers, onions, and tomatoes, all topped with melted Oaxaca cheese, grilled cactus, cambray onions, and a pork rib perched on top like a crown. The ghost of Dr. Keto himself could have walked in and given him a nod of approval. He didn't speak for twenty minutes. Just quiet concentration while he built each bite like he was fine-tuning a strategy, mixing flavors until he hit the perfect rhythm. Every move intentional, every bite earned. Every so often he'd pause, nod at the bowl slightly, and go back in. That's how you know the food wasn't just good. It was commanding his respect. Then there was my dish: the Chile en Nogada. This dish went far beyond what I expected. It wasn't dinner, it was history on a plate. According to the menu, it was created in the 1800s and is considered Mexico's national dish. Now I understand why. It's a roasted poblano stuffed with minced pork, beef, fruit, and spices, served at room temperature and topped with a walnut and sherry nogada sauce, then finished with pomegranate seeds and parsley. When it arrived, I just stared at it for a moment. It was almost too beautiful to eat. Then I took a bite, and everything stopped. It starts out sweet, not dessert sweet, just "wait, what?" sweet, then the savory layers step in. The pomegranate adds this bright, tart pop that ties everything together. I wasn't expecting that kind of balance, but once it hit my palate, I was all in. Elegant, bold, comforting. You don't eat this dish; you experience it. Even the tortillas are made from real blue corn. Not dyed. Not "blue corn flavored." Actually blue. That's when you know you're eating the real thing. We don't know which dish they belonged to, but they were delicious. The restaurant itself is cozy and colorful. The closer you get to finishing your meal, the more you uncover the hand-painted plates beneath your food. The blown-glass lamps hanging from the ceiling are works of art. There's a bar in the back calling my name for football season. And the blackberry margarita? Dangerous in the best way. Our server, Tania, was outstanding. She carried herself with pride, like the entire experience was hers to protect. She was friendly, attentive, and clearly loved being there. We even learned each other's names. It didn't feel like service. It felt like being welcomed into someone's home. Everything about Casa Tio's feels intentional, from the food to the people serving it. You can tell it was built on love, family, and pride. I left full, grateful, and already planning my next visit. If you think you've had good Mexican food before, go to Casa Tio's and get ready to rethink that.

They did NOT disappoint!! I am officially hooked! From the moment we walked in, I could see and feel the sheer energy coming from the crowd and the ambiance: it already felt like great food and great people. It was packed to the brim for Wine Wednesday! They had one table available for two! Our server, Sarah, was outstanding!! She was sweeter than pie and extremely attentive! She always made sure we had exactly what we wanted when we wanted it. She advised sharing a bottle of wine since we wanted the same one, and since it was half price most wines. The young manager on duty delivered and uncorked the bottle, and she was just as sweet as Sarah! Her name escapes me, but I will find out the next time I go. The Spanish Tempranillo we tried was divine! It was perfectly balanced without being too dry or too tannic or too sweet. It was so smooth and thoroughly enjoyable to drink! For food, we started with the goat cheese bruschetta. It was perfection - rich in flavor and well balanced in the distribution of each component! From there, we tried the special of Steak Tips Au Pauvre - with a peppercorn wine sauce. We chose brussels sprouts as our side, and it also came with a side salad. We weren't too hungry, so we split it. Sarah even had the kitchen split both the salad and the main dish in half for us! The salad was so fresh (with ripe grape tomatoes!!) and the ranch dressing was classic and delightful. The wine sauce was everything I wanted it to be: rich, complex, thick, and buttery. It reminded me of the beautiful sauces you find on a steak or chicken dish at a sidewalk cafe in Paris. The dessert menu looked amazing, but we didn't have any room left. All I can say is you MUST try this place!!! If you can find Sarah, even better!

We ordered a bottle of wine (delicious), and noticed some guests bringing their own, though I'm not sure about corkage fees. For entrées, we tried the lamb, braised beef, halibut, duck tacos, and mushroom ravioli. Everything was served promptly, and overall the food was very good, though there's room for small improvements. The braised beef came highly recommended but didn't stand out in flavor or texture. The lamb, cooked medium rare, was excellent. The ravioli was rich and tasty, though the cream sauce slightly overpowered the dish. The halibut was well prepared, but the potato leek cream truly stole the show. As we were leaving, the staff surprised us with a serving of strawberry ice cream for the birthday guest; a sweet and memorable gesture that capped off the evening nicely.
