The food was made wrong. The sandwiches were dry and the meat on the sandwiches were cold. I asked for them to fix the situation. I'm not sure what took me so long to try this place. It wasn't a bad spot at all. We came outside of lunch hours, but it was still very busy. I really liked how they had their station for sauces and condiments. You can just grab your Italian breadsticks here. Food wise: the pizza was a little too greasy for me. It was oily, soggy pizza. It's not bad though if that's how you like your pizza. Everyone is different. I also tried the newk's club sandwich. This wasn't bad either. The peanut butter crispy was my favorite thing here. That's because I love peanut butter, though. It would've been better if it was a little softer. It came out a little hard and cold like it had been sitting in the fridge. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be, but I just would've enjoyed it more if it was a little softer. read more

My bf and I came here after church one Sunday. I decided to try the new broccoli cheddar soup. I also got my favorite Cobb salad. I was sad to see that Newk's removed the croutons from their condiment table( at least at this location). Next time I know to ask for extra croutons. My salad was good and fresh. It was also mixed well. I didn't enjoy the broccoli cheddar soup. It was lacking flavor and was just okay. I'll stick to the loaded potato soup or the Turkey chili. So, the service is what saves this place. Or maybe it is the management. Eaten twice and both times had problems which they fixed. First time, the order got messed up and also the ice tea dispenser needed refilling. Second time, the dressing on the salad went bad (extremely sour). So, really not impressed. read more

Constantly a big miss in the consistency of the food. The Newks Favorite salad portion changes but more times it is served as the size of a side salad. When brought to the managers attention, she was rude and was quick to tell me I was wrong. Thats fine if they charge what they do but atleast move it to the sides portion of menu. I order half a Philly and bowl of potato soup. The half sandwich was more like a third of a sandwich with very little filling. I was pleased with the taste but for the price it was ridiculous. Tables were kept bussed. Boxwood bushes surrounded the patio and are smelly. Overall I was disappointed with the portion size. My husband ordered a half sandwich and pasta salad. Same thought with his meal. The pasta portion was about 1/4 cup. My friend had a salad that looked fresh and was ample sized. Their condiments bar was a nice touch. Wow, what a friendly place. I love Newk's and have frequented them in Dallas, Atlanta, and Denver.....now Murphreesboro. And I can say that this location has won the award for most friendly, which is tough since all of the Newk's have very nice and competent service people. Pretty good place. I wasn't overly impressed, but if you're looking for a quick bite, it's not a bad stop. I ordered a salad and the lettuce was a bit too wilted for me to enjoy it. The grilled shrimp po boy wasn't bad at all. Not delicious, but it definitely sufficed since I was really craving a po boy. The strawberry cake though... that's what took my review from a 3 to a 4. I have eaten at this Newk's location twice and it has been outstanding both times! We ordered the Club Sandwich, Caesar Salad, and a mac n cheese entree, with a side of fruit. Everything was delicious. The mac n cheese had lots of different types of cheese in it, which gave it a rich flavor... I thought it was great! But it was not our children's favorite... but they did like it! The children's sandwich was a bit small and underfilled, but the full size club sandwich was a good size. This is my favorite sandwich place in Murfreesboro. The atmosphere is calm to take a minute and relax while eating lunch. I love the honey mustard they use for the sandwiches. This is a great place to grab a bite of quality food when you don't have a lot of time. Definitely a step up, as I had a soup and sandwich combo that was a half Shrimp Po'Boy sandwich and a cup of Lobster Bisque. The cashier was bright and cheery and was great to see when walking up to order. The menu is easy to read and is right there on the wall. The only issue I saw was a shortage of busboys. A lot of tables needed to be cleared so we were very limited in our choice of seats. The cashier ended up clearning tables when she had a break from taking orders. Be forewarned, this place gets crazy busy on weekends when the shoppers are out in force at The Avenue! read more

Most of the time I go here for to go orders (online) but it's also a go to meeting spot for lunch for me. Most of the time I'm happy with Newk's. Sometimes it's not good and customer service doesn't responds to concerns, in my experience. I usually get the Five Cheese pizza because I'm only going to eat meat that is responsibly raised so I'm going to get veggie only stuff from Newk's. I've had the Veggie pizza but it wasn't that great, IMO. Very bland. But the Five Cheese is outstanding. Just the right amount of spicy and salty. I add red pepper sometimes and red invading all the time. So great! When I'm sharing with someone I'll get the pizza and salad combo. The salad is huge even though it's a side! You can choose a standard or ceasar salad. It's always great. I'm a fan of the large cups, size- wise, but not happy that Newk's causes so much plastic waste. I've personally lost track of how many of these cups I've thrown out because I just can't keep them all. Environmentally, these cups aren't great. About customer service: I've sent notes to customer service (web page) a couple times and I never hear back. Most recently was about a sandwich I took to go where the tomatoes were sour. I took a picture and sent a note but never heard back. I threw out the sandwich. I just don't expect to have any issues resolved if my order isn't good or right on to go orders. read more

My daughter and I each ordered the Shrimp and Avocado salads. My daughter asked them to leave off the feta. Her salad arrived with feta. The server took the salad back to fix it but they obviously just picked off the cheeses. When he came back with her salad, she found more feta under the lettuce. Since she is allergic, she took it back for a newly prepared salad. My Shrimp and Avocado salad arrived with NO AVOCADO. My sister ordered the Ultimate Salad, which arrived with no bacon or croutons.
