We stopped in mid-afternoon between the lunch and dinner rush on a Wednesday for half price pizza.m. You order at the counter but we sat down with menus to just be able to look (it was our first time and there are lots of options!) and one of the employees came and took our order at the table since they weren't busy. I got the Bellini cider (beer isn't my thing), my husband got a beer flight, and our daughter got one of their NA spritzers - we enjoyed all of it! The pizza was honestly incredible - I got a seasonal (Mediterranean pizza), my husband and daughter both ordered create-your-own pizzas. I finished the small pizza bc it was so good I didn't want to stop. Our daughter (10) ate 3 out of 4 slices, and my husband ate half the medium he got and admitted he should've just gotten a small. The crust is amazing - it tastes homemade and was the perfect mix of crispy and chewy. I, personally, think the regular price for the pizzas is a bit high BUT it's absolutely worth it on Wednesdays when they're half off. And if you don't mind spending a little more for a solid craft pizza on other days, you won't be disappointed! read more

Known for their craft beer and pizzas, if you're not local you obviously have to try the 'Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich', spicy Nashville hot seasoned chicken, pickles and coleslaw. Pretzel bites with cheese are really good too. If you're a lager and Hazy IPA's drinker, then you'll love this place. I personally wish they had Stouts on the menu. I tried their 'Summer Porter' (flavors of cacao, coffee, and caramel), which is good, but the only porter/dark beer available on the menu. I think next time I will try their cinnamon roll pizza for dessert. You have to stand in line to place an order at the register. The place is okay, family friendly. Staff was pretty nice. read more

Was very excited to try this new location as we heavily frequented the restaurant that used to be here. They did an amazing job updating the space, it feels so open and roomy now. When you walk in go straight to the bar and order, the team are so friendly and will point you in the right direction for brews to try and food options. Finally made it to the tap room. We just so happened in on a Wednesday aka half price pizza and a beer deal too. It was a mad house think hunger game with beer and pizza. Thankfully we scored a table and the wait was about an hour, but we had fun chatting and people watching. It is a great spot with tvs and a fun atmosphere. I am devastated that the taco pizza is not on the menu but i am hopeful it will come back soon. The birria pizza and the whipped ricotta were both amazing. Excellent pizza and a good selection of beers. So far it hasn't been too crowded and the service was fast and friendly. Plenty of places to sit and lots of TVs with all the events showing. However, I'm very sad to see that the selection of sours is much less than their other tap rooms I've visited. I was VERY excited to see Tailgate come to Murfreesboro mostly for the selection of sours and the great pizza. I hope they add more to the taps soon. read more

Just love a place that has cold beer, good food, and great service. Visited the recently opened TailGate Brewery - Murfreesboro and also got to reconnect with Jennifer who works here now. Here you order at the bar, give your phone number, and they will text you to come up when your food is ready. I ordered a Belgian Hazy (7% ABV) and Jennifer recommended the Birria Pizza...they do have a decent size menu for "bar food", kids food, and specials so there are a lot of choices. I'm a huge Birria Taco fan and I was impressed with the Birria Pizza...the crust is OK, there's a good amount of mozzarella, and the beef marinated in birria sauce is delicious. Liked the side cup of Birria consume for dipping the pizza and crust into, great flavor. While the pizza may have looked "small" it was extremely filling and I took 1 1/2 slices home. The sandwich picture I took when I picked up my pizza...it's the Burrata Caprese and it looks awesome. I plan on trying this next time I visit. The place is large with the main room accommodating a good size crowd plus covered and outdoor seating with plenty of televisions. Note they are still renovating and adding improvements to the space, so be patient. I liked it that the music was not loud, so you can carry on a conversation here. 3.5 stars. Decent beer offerings here and there. Can be a little heavily focused on IPAs (gross), but occasionally they hit a home run with a different style of beer - especially when they switch up their sours. Service is generally very nice, but some things are a touch confusing: 1. When ordering, standing in a line awaiting to get to the cashier, not only are you expected to know what food and options you want for eats, but you also have to quickly decide what beers you want right then. There are a ton of options and they are off to the side and not easily seen when standing right at the checkout stand, so it makes it difficult to order. 2. The food delivery is very odd. We've been to Tailgate twice and when ordering food at checkout before sitting down, they have given us a number card and asked for a phone number to text when the food was ready. Ok, but when the food is up, the text comes through and we have always had to go to the counter to pick our food up ourselves. Not even sure what the little number card was for. However, every time we've been in we have noticed that many other tables are getting their food delivered to their tables for them. Is this a big deal? No, we can easily walk up and grab our own food, but it sure is confusing that we seem to get selected to have to get up and get our own stuff while others get their food (appetizers and full entrees) delivered to their tables for them. What an odd and random business practice. As for the food: What we have had has been hit or miss. We went in one night for discount appetizers and another night a few weeks later for 1/2 priced pizzas. The fry basket we shared on discount appetizer night was VERY good, (although, the girl at the counter forgot to actually put our order in with the kitchen, so it took over 40 minutes after ordering to get a simple basket of fries) but when they did come out, they were delicious. On 1/2 priced pizza night we got a Detroit style pie with pepperoni and sausage. They gave us EXTREMELY skimpy meat toppings. Not sure if this is a way for them to save money on discount nights, but the pie was very disappointing. Barely one tiny slice of meat on each slice of pizza. None of my slices had pepperoni at all. Only one of my wife's slices got pepperoni. We did get sausage on each, but only one tiny slice of each piece. Also of note for anyone considering the "top shelf" option for their pizza: the toppings are not worth the extra expense - minuscule shaved parm, decent basil, odd taste to the seasoning mix. Save your $ on that one. Overall, we'll come again, but will likely not ever order a Detroit style again if the toppings are going to be so skimpy. read more

I've loved Tailgate for years and have admired Wes for how he runs this ship! We live in East Nashville but were at the boro location to celebrate my brother's birthday last night. We had some decor with us and a small vintfigurine that my mom had brought (was from his first birthday!) accidentally got thrown away when our table was cleared. (also huge shoutout to tailgate for taking care of all of your trash - there are no trash cans on the floor for this reason. an employee noticed I was looking for one and intercepted me to take care of it!) The service was great every time we went and there is never a real wait because the place is big.
