It took a while for them to make me and my dad's burgers, but there were only two chefs there. If you go you HAVE to get the tater tots! Never visited The Sandwich Factory before...shame on me. A friend and I went out to lunch and he suggested them. He ordered the Factory Club (looked delicious) and I decided on the Romanucci's Tour of Italy. Granted...it's a sandwich but these folks really serve up a good looking sub. The meats had flavor and the Capicola a nice bit of a kick. The veggies were all fresh and the kicker...the sub was toasted!!! The addition of their homemade sweet basil pesto (don't skip on this) it one of the best sauces on an Italian sub I've had, you might want a bit on the side for dipping. They offer different sides with the sandwiches, go for the homemade potato chips! No pics of the chips...but the cheese sauce is for them. This place is a bit tricky to find but am glad I did. The restaurant is an order at the counter and seat yourself joint. There is pretty much anything you could want as far as the menu goes. They have a few deserts limited to nice looking cookies unless you count the milkshakes. I didn't get one because I'm watching what I eat. Yes, I watched two Chicago dogs disappear right in front of my eyes. My dining partner had a Philly cheesesteak and it was good enough to have again. I tried that so I know what I'm talking about. Thompson Ln off Chaffin Pl. I loved how bright and airy the dining area is. The chairs are a fun seafoam green and the music is great. I ordered the Big Crispy chicken sandwich and an order of mozzarella sticks. My fiancé opted for the Factory Burger plain w/ cheese and a side of chicken and rice soup. Both were cooked fresh to order, so our food was piping hot from the fryers and grill. We also got cookies. I got the Campfire Crunch, while he got the jumbo chocolate chip cookie. It was a hard decision between the cookie and the brownie but the cookie won in the end. They were ooey gooey, but not messy. The service was friendly and helpful. I have been there before and loved the variety. I love the onion rings but consistently I go and the guy with long hair always gets my order wrong. I have to correct him and thank god he reads it back. This time....my son was in town, thought I would take him to this unique place. everything was undercooked. His fries were 60% cooked and not hot, most of OR were good but some undercooked inside. BUT I got a chicago dog I am not exaggerating My hot dog was as cold as just out of fridge 20 minutes ago. My husband and I went tonight for dinner and had an amazing experience! The staff was warm, welcoming, and super patient with us as we ordered. The food was freshly made and came out so fast. We got the Tropical Burger with chips and the Factory Melt with fries. It was all so delicious! The chips were some of the best house made chips I've ever had, as they were super thin and crispy. Each meal was priced under $10 and was well worth it. For dessert we also got a chocolate chip cookie and a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. When we entered the shop we were excited by it's looks and charm, but that quickly changed. The front counter person taking the orders was rude, AND that was after we told her it was our first time there. It's a little difficult to tell where to order and she was just rude about it and where the menu to order from. The guys in the back were pleasant though! I got the mushroom Swiss burger with fries. It literally had 3 slices of mushrooms on it. No toppings, just plain. My husband got the meatball sub and a chili dog with fries. You could count the fries on his plate, less than ten. After driving by for years and not giving this place a lot of thought, I finally stopped in for dinner. I found myself craving a Chicago style hotdog and this is one of the only places that I could find serving them without having to drive to Nashville. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. The Chicago dog was delicious and definitely satisfied the craving i had been having. The presentation of the food was lacking a little bit and it was one of the first times I have had a Chicago dog where they put all of the toppings under the meat instead of on top.The fries reminded me somewhat of a thicker version of Burger King's fries, with a little crispy coating on them. The fries came with what appeared to be a small side of nacho cheese sauce, which was a nice touch but I found myself wishing that the it had a little spiciness to it, or at minimum had some some seasoning because it was a bit bland by itself. I usually get a wrap but since I had time to sit down I tried the double fire burger today and it was DELICIOUS. I like hot, like REALLY hot, and this hit the spot for sure.
