The pizza was NOTHING special. We got three different types to try them all. The kids pepperoni was the best of the bunch. The crust wasn't cooked all the way and was only so/so. The birria pizza was so incredibly dry with very little meat, it was more like dough and fried left over meat shavings. The margarit could have been delicious but was undercooked and soggy. One type of beer was ok. The server said there was something wrong with their kegs and it needed to be adjusted. Well, why didn't they adjust it? We needed salt/pepper but they DO NOT HAVE IT??? We asked for Parmesan and they said it is only fresh grated ( that's awesome!!) and then charged 50 cents for a small cup partially full. The staff was not happy to be there. The location is good for the movies but come on! When you spend $60.00 or more on pizzas, it needs to be good! There was nothing here that would make us return. read more

Wow, They are open! We were at the movies and saw that they were open so we did a turn and came in! Super cute place lots of beer to choose from. I'm not a big beer drinker so I really appreciate that I got to taste it first before purchase. My husband loved it! The pizza looks amazing. Gonna get one to take home! I've visited 3 times so far and collectively I can't give this place a great review, unfortunately. The pizza is so expensive. $23 for a regular crust medium pizza. If it were out of this world maybe that price would be justified, but if I did a side-by-side blind taste test with a Tailgate pizza and a Domino's pizza I'm willing to put money on the fact people would choose Dominos. Also, I've seen this mentioned in comments on their social media posts before but I didn't believe it until I saw it on the menu myself. The vegan pepperoni option for a large pizza is $8 extra. That's how much it costs to buy a full package of BeHive pepperoni from the deli in Nashville. So they're charging you for the full box of vegan pepperoni, yet you're only getting one portion on the pizza. Also, if you want a side of red pepper flakes, they'll charge you. If you want a side of parmesan cheese, they'll charge you. Want ranch for dipping? That'll be an extra $1.09. What's even weirder is they don't have salt & pepper. AT ALL. It's not available at any table nor will they give it to you if you ask. Another curious aspect is there's no table service. You have to order everything at the register. Want food? Gotta get up and go to the register. Need another beer? Gotta get up and go to the register. Just want a water or soda? Gotta go to the register, pay, get a cup, and go dispense the soda yourself at a soda machine. None of that is really an issue except they still expect you to tip and the checkout tablet pre-selects a 20% tip. With respect; why? We are so happy Tailgate has opened in M'boro!! We've been going to South Nashville pretty regularly since they've opened. Hubs and several friends were mug clubbers! I joined today! The most friendly people, fantastic beer and great pizza and adult nuggets. We've been twice already! Great patio, large dining room. Dog friendly! I LOVE TAILGATE BREWERY SO MUCH!!! Every time I go there, I constantly crave it afterwards. The Burrata Margherita is so good, but my favorite is the build your own with hot honey, breaded chicken, and fresh mozzarella. IT IS AMAZING!!!!! The service is great, everyone was super nice. My only complaint was that it was a little slow, but the taste made up for it. The place also looks so good! The walls are painted and the layout is nice!! A few friends went to try it out. We have been to another Tailgate closer to Nashville. They still of some outside construction to get done. The inside is very open but functional. The food was pretty good. Selection of beers was great. Not an overwhelming about to choose from. We had a Mexican Corn pizza, margarita pizza, union rings and garlic knockers. Was second time coming ,first time was amazing we had pizza.Which, we will definitely come back for.This time we wanted to try something different so we decided to do wings and the loaded taco fries chicken.So disappointed,barely like 3 pieces of of minced chicken was in our order! This review is based on several visits and those that occurred when they freshly opened. It is a long, detailed review of many aspects. I will start off with an "Executive Summary" for those who just want a quick overview and then get into the nitty gritty. Summary How they remodeled the existing space is bright, airy and welcoming. Since they have just recently opened, the staff is learning and very accommodating. I don't like paper plates and plastic utensils. My pizza was very good, but I am very interested in trying all the enticing options available. When it comes to beer, there are many offerings only available at the taprooms. They all have a great flavor profile, but generally lack a nice creamy head that coats the glass Value is what you would expect. It is now my top place to frequent. Ambiance Located in a former local place, they really fixed things up. The old business had been vacant for quite a while, but when Tailgate decided to move in, things moved fast. More windows and an open seating areas with many murals make the place inviting. The murals and artwork reminded me of a 1970's vibe. The customer base so far has been varied. As word gets around, this place will get very busy It is already picking up. Almost all of the plates and utensils are plastic or disposable. They could have added more class and reduced the impact on the environment by utilizing reusable settings. I needed a toothpick and they do not have them, put probably will. Staff and Service All the servers were friendly and helpful. As they are just opening, they have enough staff to meet all needs. One lady behind the bar recognized me from a previous bar and that made me feel welcome. They are still training staff, but all is going well. When you order, they ask for your phone number to text you when your order is ready. I did not want to give them that information because I believed I would get inundated with frequent spam. They accommodated my request by giving me an order number and the food came out in good time. They do have a "Mug Club" which offers some nice perks. I do not have the money right now to join, but I will. Juliana helped make our visit very pleasant on my third trip. She was conversant and since there was not a huge crowd, we all entertained each other with stories and conversation. Food On my first visit, I did not eat, but saw a pizza being delivered to a table and decided I need to try that. As I mentioned before, this review is based on several visits. The sight of that pizza enticed me to put that on my list of things to try. On my second visit, I wanted to try the sandwiches - no go. They did not have the bread/rolls to make sandwiches. Something got mixed up with the local baker, but I am glad they are using a local baker. Second choice of the pizza was not a bad one, in lieu of the lack of sandwiches. I was not disappointed. It was a meat lovers and it was loaded with great toppings. The crust had a nice chew, and the tomato sauce was nicely balanced. The small was more than enough to fill me. Looking to the future, but not part of this visit is some of the pizza menu offerings. One is Detroit Style. Now, I lived in the Detroit area and never encountered this delicacy until many years later and moving to Tennessee. It looked legitimate. Options for the "build your own" include ingredients I want to try including Canadian Bacon, Honey Whipped Ricotta, Burrata Cheese (Burrata is a soft, fresh Italian cheese made from cow's milk. Based on the outer appearance alone, this cheese could easily be mistaken for fresh mozzarella--and that's because the outer shell is made of soft mozzarella.), Cotija Cheese (Cotija is a cow's milk cheese used. The mild and tangy flavor is versatile, Traditionally, cotija cheese is aged 100 days to 12 months, which helps dry out the cheese (it doesn't melt when heated), making it perfect for crumbling or grating over foods.), Mac and Cheese, Coleslaw, Pickles and Shredded Lettuce. So, there are so many options inviting me to come back I will not rate every single pizza on every single trip. This will be fun. I will ask on my next visit if I can try the Burrata and/or the Cotija by themselves, just to taste and not on a pizza. My wife opted for the chicken salad. She loves salads and enjoyed this one. She speculated that the chicken was cooked in a sealed envelope with a marinade and then heated on the grill. This was good, according to her. Vegetables were crisp and fresh and the Spicy Ranch dressing was, well, spicy. Third time visit was the charm. A good friend joined my adult son and I and we all ordered sandwiches. Both the Nashville Hot Chicken and Buffalo chicken sandwiches came out on the same roll. That roll was a nine inch or so hoagie roll and the bread was so hot we had to let it cool.
