Don't recommend going for early dinner (~6PM). You will get the potatoes left from lunch--hard, dry and tasteless. Used to love McAlister's but unfortunately they have lost their touch and flair. I would say it might not be too bad to go soon after they open but they are rarely busy at this location. Seems like they used to have more options than the numerous club sandwiches. This is the original location in Murfreesboro and now has numerous competitors for sandwiches, soup, salad and potatoes. There is plenty of parking and it is fairly easy to get in and out. read more

A couple of weeks ago, my family and I went and dined in at the McAlister's off of Memorial Blvd in Murfreesboro, TN . We had an AMAZING waitress, Addyson, that not only took our order and brought our food to our table, she checked on us a few times, made sure our drinks were full and even suggested some yummy items on the menu. What is happening here!?! Something has changed! I have always been a fan until ordering dinner tonight! I went online to order a couple spuds and it gave a 20 minute pick up time, I arrived and it's not ready. I was told it would be 10 more minutes and I waited 45 minutes total after I arrived to receive them. Then they proceeded to give me cold soup that had been sitting out waiting on the spuds to get done. Had to ask for fresh soup. I get home and the spuds were very lacking in meat and I didn't receive my rotel cheese I paid $1.50 more for either! No wonder they never look as busy like they use too... read more

When they do well, this place is phenomenal. But ever since the manager from a couple of years ago left, this place is so mismanaged and inconsistent in their service. Today they ran out of lids, butter, and sour cream (keep in mind they are most famous for spuds and sweet tea). They can't keep up with large orders and require multiple corrections for family orders. Todays management was so poor they had to stop taking orders. I don't leave negative reviews but I'm sad because this used to be my favorite restaurant. First time coming here and I'll definitely be back. It was quiet and clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the menu selection was huge. My husband and I stopped here after our nieces softball game. Our meal was $42 for two people! Yes you read that right! I ordered the choose 2, 1/2 a rueben and a cup of country potato. My husband ordered the French dip. My sandwich was cold, the toast was not toasted, it was soggy, lacked taste, and hardly had any meat or cheese on it. My husbands sandwich was literally one piece of meat and just a big thing of bread. Also, they charged for $4 for a drink in addition to charging me $14 for my sad ass meal. I love McAlister's. I get food from the one in Brentwood regularly at work, and try to get the wife dinner here but services has gotten slower and slower. Tonight I walk in and there's literally 1 table with people in it at 6pm and it took me over 20 min's to get 2 sandwiches to go. Would make sense if it was something special or if I saw big orders going out the door but i only saw 2 small orders go out in the almost 30 min's I was there... tables covered in trash through out the entire time I was there. sadly it'll be a while before I'll try this one again...seems to be a management issue, or lack thereof... read more

My first and last visit to this place...totally unimpressed in the food would be too simplistic. About the only item I would say was worthwhile was the lemonade. BLT Sandwich...if that was bacon on the sandwich you fooled me. My guess is the bacon is cooked in a microwave as it was as flat and thin as paper and oily. Even the macaroni & cheese side was microwaved. We also had a grilled cheese that was supposed to be no tomatoes and had to be sent back and redone, and looked like it was microwaved too. The PBJ for my granddaughter was OK...probably the only acceptable part of the dining experience. Do not pay that kind of money for this - order from Jason's Deli or Subway instead so you at least get something between the bread. I opened my sandwich and looked for the chicken salad. They probably put about 1to maybe 2 tablespoons of chicken salad on the croissant and called it a day. I don't know what all the hate is about in these reviews. Let's just say that it speaks to a restaurant's quality if former employees still go there to eat. This was totally my first job. They have a little bit of everything you might be hungry for- soup, baked potatoes, sandwiches, salads, nachos, chili, potato salad, coleslaw, cheesecake, and a banging kids menu. And people go absolutely nuts for the sweet tea. The biggest complaint people have is about the price. Can you get a baked potato and a club sandwich down the street at Wendy's for half the price? Of course. But it's not apples to apples. The "huge" potatoes at McAlister's are actually two large potatoes pushed together and loaded with toppings. Like, it's as big as your head. I can't finish one by myself. And their sandwiches are generously sized with fresh ingredients, not skanky fast-food sandwiches in a paper wrapper. I think you like or dislike Mcalister's based on what you're used to. Their food is on par with Panera, not Wendy's. So let this help you decide if you want to give it a try or not.
