My husband and. I decided to stop for gas and Jersey Mike's after a long day on the road driving. We still have about 90 miles to go to our destination. We both ordered the Original Italian subs They were, and are always delicious, but what impressed us was the pleasant young men working the counter. The teen making the sandwiches was smiling and polite. We're senior citizens and we find that refreshing. As we ate in the restaurant, we observed him making intelligent conversation with " regulars" that came in as he worked. It's not something we see very often with young people these days. Let me preface: Love Jersey Mike's! My go-to sub shop. But wake up Old Fort Pkwy! It's been well over a MONTH since your A/C has been out. So now their door is propped open. Now they have one lame fan that does nothing. And now they have to keep their veggies covered with parchment paper cause FLIES are everywhere! It's 95 degrees in the dead of summer and probably 90 in the restaurant. If you love swatting flies and lukewarm mayo, come here! Weeks ago I asked an employee if they've tried to fix it. It had been a long time since I'd eaten here so when I was out for a quick lunch I stopped in. I don't think I'll do that again. I don't eat factory farmed meats so I ordered a regular sized VEGGIE, which is a boat load of two cheeses and a few slices of green pepper. I got wheat bread from the three options I was offered. I added a little mayo, tomatoes, shredded iceberg, and onions topped with a little bit of salt and pepper. It wasn't terrible, but the lack of veggie options made it pretty plain. The veggie plus a small drink and chips was over $10. That's a ton for the small amount of food I got! Subway, in contrast, would get you a lot more veggie and bread options, including guacamole for less money on a 12 inch roll. I don't think this was a good value. The customer service was mediocre as well. I wasn't given the option of the larger drink (+$0.30) before being told my total. I watched the sandwich artist put vinegar on the sandwich for the guy in front of me when though he said no. While hee was paying, I saw her realize her error, pause, have an internal debate and then just put the sandwich together and wrapped it without telling him. So a really expensive, small bland veggie with limited options, quick service without verifying my order and the chance of errors that they didn't fix all equal me probably not coming back again any time soon. read more

My husband loves Jersey Mike's, and we typically visit another Mboro location, but we were on this side of town on Friday night, so we decided to give it a shot. We walked in at 8:58pm, not realizing they closed at 9pm, but the door was open, OPEN sign still lit, and one employee said hi when we walked in, so we thought they were willing to make a sandwich before closing up. The two employees up front both promptly turned their backs to us, ignoring us, and then retreated to the back. Another employee also ignored us while cleaning a machine. We stood there for a few minutes, clearly ready to order, with zero interaction from the workers. We then left and as we got into our car saw the employees come back up front, laughing, to turn off the OPEN sign and continue closing. I want to be clear--I would have had zero issue with these teenagers saying, "Hi, we're actually about to close up, sorry we can't serve you." I get it! But their inability to communicate with a customer and their subsequent retreat to the back to hide from us until we gave up and left was immature, impolite, and completely unprofessional. I love Jersey Mike's! The night crew is really polite and they are really efficient workers. The food is delicious and when I was there tonight I enjoyed the company of the staff because they are respectful and funny. I encountered three girls in particular one with short, curly hair and she informed me that she was new but she seemed to be doing a great job! Another girl that was African American was nice and carried herself very well. The last girl had long, brown hair and she very professional and enthusiastic and made me laugh. This is my first negative review on one of my favorite places to eat. When I walked in everything was normal. The problem started with my sandwich, the bread was wrong so I decided to only mention it to the staff and they were apologetic. I waited another 15 minutes for my child's meal that was ordered at the same time as mine, the order was completely wrong. I sent it back and it came out wrong again and the explanation was "we are busy and were closing" . Me nor my family should have to suffer for this. I instructed my family to eat it because I was losing my patience with the staffs dismissive attitudes because "they were closing". Then to add insult to injury the person that served us had the audacity to offer another custom a free cookie or chips for their short wait and merely offered me an excuse for having me pay for the wrong meal that was botched twice.
