Typically love this location, but will be taking a break. Most staff were very friendly, but there was a newer staff member (shorter, middle aged woman with short red hair) that was super disrespectful when our order was messed up, no fault to the young man that took our order he entered it correctly. In addition to being short and snappy with me, she appeared to belittle other staff members. Food was hot, but tenders also seemed skimpy! Quick place to stop for some chicken tenders. The thing about Slim chickens is ordering the sauce, but not knowing which sauce you like you're tempted to buy several so I went with typical favorites, buffalo and mango habanero... They were good I don't know if options are available for sides, because I was served fries, but I would've liked to try deep fried mushrooms or another choice if it was an option... I also learned from a customer that you can have the tenders tossed in the sauce rather than plain. Both might have made this a 5 star. read more

New to the area and have been here twice! Their Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese is boooomb! First time we got one to share. Never again lol. It doesn't seem very "Buffalo-y", more of a special sauce they make, but suh good. Reheats well too. Have ordered wings in garlic parm which is also super good, fries, and chicken fingers. I've tried a few sauces, and all good but not loving the honey mustard, it is more on the mustard side. Overall, def coming back again and again for that Mac! read more

Not a bad spot at all. We pretty much just went up to the counter, ordered our food, grabbed a number, and sat down. They brought our food out to us. Their drink station set up was pretty nice and clean. I liked that a lot. Their sweet tea was good. I tried their fried chicken tenders salad. It was very good. I honestly didn't have high expectations for the food here, but it was actually pretty good. I liked it a lot. I thought they were going to use iceberg for my salad like at other places, but they didn't. I loved that a lot since I'm not a fan of iceberg lettuce. They really went above and beyond for their salads. It was really good. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked, too. Their wings were also cooked perfectly. It wasn't over cooked or undercooked. They weren't dry either. It was nice and juicy, which is hard to find- even at wing spots. I tried it on their new Nashville hot chicken flavor. The flavor was pretty good. If you're looking for the heat spice, it wasn't there, but it was still good. I will definitely be back because I liked the food here. The restrooms were also clean. We're in Murfreesboro for.a long weekend (part of the throngs of people who have descended on the area for Bonnaroo). After a long drive from Philly, we were tired and just wanted something yummy and easy). Slim Chickens (great name, btw) was close by, so we decided to give it a try. The Upsides: The place was bright and clean as a whistle, the line moved fast, the kids working the counter were friendly, and our meals were served FAST. The Downsides: Everything we ordered was just... "meh." My chicken tenders were crazy salty (like, I couldn't suck down enough iced tea to un-pucker) and sat like a brick in my stomach for a couple of hours. The fries were sorta warm (definitely not hot) and also really salty. At the end of the day, it was convenient and after visiting, we weren't hungry anymore (which I suppose was the point), but it's chain restaurant chicken and isn't something I'd go out of my way for. read more

Slims oh slims how I was disappointed :( I've been here plenty of times before and they've been good, but that's it, just good. The most recent time I went I got their Nashville hot chicken sandwich (a new menu item) and was incredibly saddened to taste absolutely no spice on the sandwich at all. I'm one to compare Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and must say that Hattie B's is light-years ahead of this one and, for a more local spot, party fowl's are superior as well. We went up to see if they gave us the wrong sandwich by mistake and they said that "the coleslaw and buttery bun calms down the heat". I disagree with that statement because I didn't taste a single spice on this chicken sandwich not even a black pepper spice, there was NONE! They said they have received complaints about it. Being an Arkansas based company, if you dare come to Tennessee and disrespect the Nashville hot name by making a "hot sandwich" a 2 year old could enjoy, then you're in for some backlash. They settled our complaint with some "spicy dry rub seasoning to sprinkle on the sandwich, which also wasn't spicy. It resembled a cinnamon sugar seasoning more than a spicy seasoning to be honest. On top of that, the chicken was tough, didn't seem fresh. The fries were good but that's about it. Their Mac and cheese was also just okay, nothing crazy. Slims has continued to be mid in my eyes and isn't my first chicken option in Murfreesboro. ALSO, once they started to close we started leaving the restaurant and one of the associates threw out one of our take home boxes of food. After bringing it to her attention she said 'oh I'm sorry I didn't know" and proceeded to clean the tables. My friend responded with, "well, could I get it back?" Wonderful customer service! I give five stars on that alone .. young man at drive thru exhibited wonderful courtesy customer service to me.. also young man who brought my food out were sincere. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I decided to get both wings and tenders.. the food was fresh and good.. no complaints here. I will definitely try again **UPDATE** I did try the pecan dessert jar and in my opinion wasn't worth the price.. mines had more crust than actual pecan pie.. I don't know who made that jar but they didn't do a good job.. Slims chicken is similar to raising canes chicken. I'm not sure who was established first but they are very similar. Chicken is good here, their sauce is good, their fries are good too. I got Buffalo wrap-good but definitely spicy so got a dice of honey mustard to soften the spice. Chicken tenders were crispy but soft and fresh inside- slim in size. We loved the fresh chips for our sides-crisp, salty and flavorful almost like garlic powder or maybe onion powder ( not quite sure of the seasoning) but so good. Drive they lines long with two lanes. Tried this place out the other day after work. Went through the drive through which was fast and easy with pleasant staff. Ordered fried pickles and 2 orders of the 8 piece wings with fries. Got home and the wings were barely luke warm and we don't live to far away so not sure why ours were luke warm. They were fully cooked so we just reheated them in them microwave to be sure and make them nice and hot. The wings were big and had good flavor and plenty of delicious buffalo sauce on them. The pickles were really good and fresh from the fryers so that was a nice bonus. Great thing is the cups you get your drinks in can be reused which is always a nice thing to see places do. Didnt get dessert this time but they looked amazing so we will try them next time for sure. We will come back again soon and try dining in this time around. Slim chickens is by far one of best places for chicken in Murfreesboro. The chicken is always fresh and never feels greasy. I always get the tenders but the sandwiches are great too! First of all: get the tenders. Their wings aren't the greatest in the land, and they are known for their tenders. Our wait was short and we got our food immediately after sitting down at a booth. The chicken was so hot and crisp that the oil was still sizzling--it was beautiful. The fries were seasoned to perfection with cajun spices and salt. The slim sauce and sriracha garlic sauce are an undefeated combo. I overestimated my hunger and ordered a seven piece, but I easily packed it home. A four piece meal would have been the perfect size. If you also have extra to go, pop the chicken and fries in the air fryer at 350F for a few minutes to warm it all up. It'll still be delicious. read more

I came back and tried some of their new menu items. There was a mac and cheese bowl, which came topped with chopped pieces of fried chicken. The noodles were very soft and the sauce was super thick and creamy. I also the bbq smothered chicken tenders. The chicken was melt-in-your mouth. So tender! And the bbq sauce is delicious! I had a bite of their waffle. Nice sweet vanilla flavor. To end it, I tried their fall special pumpkin cheesecake jar dessert. Amazing! Generously big chicken tenders (LOVE), salty flavorful fried pickles, hot wings (weren't that hot but I don't expect REAL hot from franchise places since they have to accommodate to a big audience), and your good 'ol Texas toasts. A LOT OF FOOD for the price. Chicken sandwich, dare I say it, better than chickfila (I know!). The pickles, chicken, buns were perfect. Buns were soft and glossy on top as they should be. Big chicken as the main character of the sandwich, and a bit of lettuce and pickles to top it all off! Strawberry cheesecake dessert jar and chocolate shake. Normally I'm not a chocolate shake gal, but I've learned they use ghirardelli chocolate for their chocolate shake!!! WHAAA. Chicken Strips - very good, Cane's are better and larger but I will have them again. 2. Texas toast - not even a competition. Slims needs to start over with proper bread and work from there. I didn't finish it. 3. Fries - I prefer their natural cut fries to Cane's frozen crinkle. 4. Sauces - Cane sauce and honey mustard are better, but I like Slims Korean barbeque and cayenne ranch. I expected it to taste a little manufactured and corporate, but it truly tasted like something from a soul food kitchen! It was very very good. I think the fries are also pretty good, as well as the potato salad. The only thing I wasnt super impressed by were the wings. They were good but they werent amazing.
