I've heard this place was good so today we decided to go try it. It was only lunch on a Friday so it was not packed which was nice. The server was great and got us everything we needed no hassle. It's a little on the pricey side for the type of food served. They do not do crawfish until after 5pm if you're looking to get some. The menu is mainly fried foods but they do have lots of happy hour drink specials. The ambiance was dive bar-ish and dimly lit. It seems like it could be a wild place to go when it's busy or if you were having a group party but other than that it was just another place to eat. read more

This place is excellent on their 3 piece white meat meal with the extra side of baked beans. I get this every time. Murfreesboro facility charges .25 cents for their sauce, but Smyrna does not. Not sure what's going on there. I CAN NEVER WAIT TO TAKE A PICTURE!!! read more

Champy's in the 'Boro rocks. Their fried green tomatoes and pickle spears are delicious. The fried chicken is prepared to order so it takes a bit longer but it comes out piping hot and crispy and is well worth the extra wait time. The waitresses and staff provide great service to their guests. The casual laid back ambiance, sports on the TVs make their $2 mimosas even more scrumptious on their Sunday brunch. Their Sunday brunch is a win, but you can order anything on the menu if you choose. Today I tried their shrimp and jalapeño hush puppies. Both were delicious. Service a bit lackluster, but that's about standard these days when tipping and expendable income are at record lows. Food is good as ever, chicken tenders crispy and not sketchy, green beans that taste like ham, crunchy fries with that cornstarch coating. Yum! Stopped at Champy's for a little hair of the dog after my birthday. We went to the one in Murfreesboro which is easy to access with lots of parking. It's an understated restaurant with friendly service. I ate the fried shrimp, which were delicious! I also had a Bloody Mary, which was fantastic and spicy enough for my liking! The food was delicious! I highly recommend the baked beans, potato salad and coleslaw for sides. The 3 piece dark meat and white meat fried chicken mains were also excellent. No kick from the pineapple margarita, but big points for taste. They told me the "eye Candy" was incredible and I'm all about beautiful women. We were greeted and seated immediately by a wonderfully beautiful women and who was extremely friendly. Our waitress was yet another beautiful woman named Victoria. Not only was she wonderfully pretty, she was a skilled and attentive waitress. Came here after work since we drive past here all the time. Got seated right away, friendly staff who got our drinks right away. Ordred the tamales as the appetizer, then I got 2 pounds of crawfish with the fixings on the side and my husband got the chicken tenders with fries. Both were good and had alot of flavor. We finished off with the meal with Mississippi mud pie which was thick and yummy. Plenty of parking and they have outside patio for seating also. Even gave us drinks to go which was a nice touch. Been to Champy's a number of times and have never been disappointed...until now. Visited last night, not busy, was told I could sit anywhere I liked. Anna was to be my server and she went to get me a beer and put in my order for tamales. She returned with the tamales and I ordered the fried half-chicken platter with a double mashed potatoes & gravy. The tamales were just OK and were a bit "dry" so when Anna came by I asked for some of the tamale sauce because they were dry. The extra sauce helped a bit, but these were not up to the same standard I've enjoyed here before (P.S I am not a tamale expert, just know what I like). The fried chicken arrived and again...it was just OK and didn't have any real flavor. I thought to myself I could have gotten fried chicken from a gas station with more flavor than this. If you want a beer you can order yourself a 40oz and even get a koozie for it. Never had I ever seen a restaurant where you can order a forty with dinner.
