We have been meeting our best friends there every Tuesday. The heavy pour of the happy hour drink is to be celebrated. We regularly have Aliyah as our server and she is wonderful. She remembers our drink orders from week to week and is incredibly attentive. Each item that I have tried for dinner exceeds the last time. Everything seems to be made from scratch. Best queso I've ever had. Their blue cheese dressing should win a trophy. Their meatballs make you want to slap your momma. The 2 for 1 pizza should be illegal. The godfather sandwich is an offer that you can't refuse. The French dip would have made them not surrender to the Germans. Even early in the afternoon the bar sounds like a party. This is a wonderful version of a Southern "Chers" where everyone knows your name. One is coming to Smyrna but as long as Aliyah is working we will drive to Murfreesboro. She is the best. read more

Sat at the bar, had 3 beers and ordered my food to go which was the spicy sausage pasta and added a chicken breast. Bill came to 48, I tipped 15 ($63 Total). I get home and there's no sauce. Just pasta and like 8 pieces of sausage and still no chicken. The waitress/bar tender didn't even look at the food. It's my fault to think they hire anyone better than someone working at McDonald's. I've had 3 beers, thankfully I have my 9.99 Costco pizza for lunch because this place is a f*ing joke. read more

This would probably be 5 stars if we didn't order pizza. Holy lord, some of the worst pizza ever. No wonder it was BOGO 12"... It could be B1G5 and I wouldn't get it again. The Caribbean Jerk Pizza was inedible as I think they put Thousand Island Dressing as the sauce. The Margherita was OK, but honestly, a cheese pizza would be better. Anyway, the rest was stellar though... I will say the Hot Chicken Sliders were so darn good. Nice spice, came with pickles on top, cause, you know, we all like sandwiches with condiments on the outside. And for two of us, the 3 sliders presented a challenge and were good enough for us to bifurcate the third as neither one of us were going to say "you can have the other one". The Thai Chicken wrap was pretty good and refreshing. It was well dressed and flavorful and was happy with it, especially after the pizza. They also had 2 for 1 beers which was awesome as well. Surprisingly Jonathan's Grille was extremely packed on a Wednesday night. But bring my first time I was really surprised by how fast we were seated and served. We had the guacamole, fish tacos and salmon tacos. The guacamole could have used a little be of Tabasco but you could really tell it was extremely freshly made. The fish and salmon tacos were huge! This place rocks! The food is upscale bar food, but the prices aren't too bad and they're always running some sort of drink special. Every time we have been, the service is top notch despite how packed this place always is. They've got plenty of TVs around so you can catch a game that's on and they have a patio that's great for drinking beer on. The only negative I could really find was the parking. There's simply not enough spots to accommodate the people this restaurant can seat so if you aren't lucky enough to find a spot in the main lot, you're forced to walk quite a ways. read more

Had lunch here yesterday & everything was great! Excellent service (did have to ask for silverware & napkins though). We ordered tacos; I had the grilled mahi tacos & my husband had the bam bam shrimp tacos. We ordered the brussel sprout appetizer too. Brussel sprouts were delicious!! A little heavy on the sweet chili Asian sauce (will ask for it on the side next time). My mahi tacos were excellent!! Grilled & topped with cabbage, avocado & salsa on the side...yum!! My husband liked his bam bam shrimp tacos but felt he was over them by the 3rd taco. He ate one of mine & said he'll order those next time or we'll share them so he gets some of both! We went during the 2025 Superbowl and they got us in as soon as we got there! Food: 8/10 - appetizer: loaded potato bites, spinach dip - 10/10 - entrees: the burger and tacos were good. For the wings, we got dry rub but it felt like there still wasn't enough seasoning on them. Tasted very bland. Service: 10/10 - I forgot our server but she was very attentive! took great care of us. Quite possibly the BEST salmon I've ever had in my entire life! Pair it with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and dinner becomes an experience. The only thing I would suggest is to cut off the stems of the spinach before adding it to the salad. We completed the meal with the most delicious cheesecake and coffee. We had a mixed lunch experience at Jonathan's recently. The food was terrific - no complaints there and the service was fine. On the negative side was the noise - it was so loud we couldn't hear each other 2 feet away. It's one echo chamber. The other was a $.99 "hospitality fee" slipped in on our check without notice. The server responded when questioned that it was to allow the owners to buy benefits for the "staff in the back." Let me 1st start out with how disappointed I was when I got my bill. Pay attention to it. They add a hospitality fee, which is a fee to just eat in their establishment. Then I had a glass of wine, while it was a big glass, they charge you a TN liquor tax every drink you get from their establishment. WTF! While it isn't much, why charge this? When I asked the waitress about it, poor thing was explaining it and then went on to say people take it out on her and tip less. Not her fault at all. Shame on you Jonathan's. Going on a business trip to Murfreesboro, we had no idea where to go to eat. Driving along our merry way to a nearby vegan cafe for lunch, we see Jonathan's Grille, but kept going to our intended destination. Arriving at the unnamed restaurant, the boss decided that it was a little too casual for the event, and we went back to Jonathan's - and it was a fantastic happenstance! The place was a little dark, but classy. The server was very polite as we asked to switch tables (we were right under the vents) The food was fantastic. I got the chopped caprese salad - a salad so big, all healthiness went away due to the amount of chicken and cheese. My wife got the pulled pork stuffed potato, which she loved. We split the chocolate cake for dessert - the alternating layers of dark and milk chocolate was just lovely. Definitely worth a stop at this wonderful restaurant! read more

Came here during lunch time on a Saturday. The parking lot was mostly full, but we were seated right away. The restaurant was clean and the employees were very nice. I ordered the Bam Bam tacos (very good) and my wife had the Thai chicken wrap. We ended up sharing our food. The Bam Bam tacos were the clear winner. Not sure why they give a side of sour cream and salsa as neither were a good match for the shrimp. Our opinion on the Thai wrap was that it needed more chicken and while the first few bites were tasty, the flavor became boring after that. Hard to explain but it doesn't warrant us buying it again. I've been to the Jonathan's Grille located in Mt. Juliet, TN several times over the years; however, I recently visited this location (Murfreesboro) for the first time. Much is similar, but a few things, such as the server's level of attentiveness and a few nuances in the layout left me favoring this location of the two. Jonathan's has some pretty awesome drinks and the food is good as well. Price points are solid (I'd say pretty aligned with industry average). I would rate a 4.5... the food wasn't craveably delicious but the experience and environment was great. We are newer to the area and have seen Jonathan's in a few places and add it to the list of "we should try". Had a night away from the kiddos (newborn with parents here =we get to actually sleep) and came in around 8pm. Greeted immediately and sat within seconds, in Kelsey's section. She was excellent. I was a server in my younger years and mentally judge servers a little tougher than I think most others. If we ate out more, we would become regulars of hers. She was perfectly attentive, with the right about of talking, and DELIVERED THE SAUCES! I'm a saucey person and request the sauce when ordering and can't eat my food until I have the sauce. The sauce was there, in the amount we needed, when the food hit. We ordered the bang bang eggs rolls (shrimp), sweet potato fries, and the bbq pizza. I loved the pizza. Their ranch was also delish, which really makes of breaks food for me. The egg rolls were meh (husband's choice) and I enjoyed the sweet potato fries. We will def be back to a Jonathan's. read more

Service and atmosphere were above average but the food has much to be desired. I am staying at a nearby hotel and stopped in for a bite on my arrival. The bone in wings were not too bad but the Cajun dry rub was much milder than I have experienced at other restaurants. It just so happens that this restaurant was chosen for our group dinner after our first day of training. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. It wasn't too bad. While edible, it lacked the flavor that I anticipated. I ordered the shrimp scampi flatbread for my meal and was VERY disappointed. The menu describes it as: Shrimp Scampi Flatbread: Creamy scampi sauce, topped with mozzarella, fontina, grilled shrimp, tomatoes, and parsley. The sauce was anything but creamy; pasty may be a more appropriate description. The overall pizza was dry and what is described as grilled shrimp were not grilled but looked like they came from a can. They were also the smallest shrimp I believe I have ever been served in my life. The flatbread was cut into eight pieces and each piece had only one shrimp; each of them and could not have been larger than a dime (generous size description). I ate a third of the flatbread, only because I was very hungry after a long training session. So disappointed and would rate this as one of the least desirable meals I have ordered in many years. They are located in an area with multiple hotels and the place was packed with what I assume were business travellers that were likely as disappointed as I was in the food. While it is reasonably priced I would say the old addage "You get what you pay for" holds true for this establishment. Do not waste your time or money. You WILL be underwhelmed at BEST. read more

Mid Bar Food. We came here on a work trip while staying at the Embassy across the road. The location seemed perfect for a quick bite during our two hour lunch, due to its location. Unfortunately, this lunch took the entire two hours. While I understand the business may have been slammed or understaffed due to the large influx during our lunch break-- I would think a restaurant in Murfreesboro's convention center would be better prepared. The menu is large and contains classic bar food like burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas. I opted for the larry bird with only chicken and swiss. It arrived with greasy, bacon all over it. When i took off the bacon, the cheese attached also peeled off. The service was lacking. We saw our waitress four times total. She took the order, brought the food, brought the check, and brought back our cards. The food was slow, but we were chatting so it didn't feel too bad. I needed a refill bad, and we didn't see her again until we got the checks. Overall, I was unimpressed. This is your classic mediocre bar food. read more

I've been here a few times now when in town visiting my kids. The food is consistent, albeit run-of-the-mill for this upscale-Appleby's. The service is hot or miss, and the last time we were here it was "miss". At a table for eleven, one of our party never got her grilled chicken entree. It came at coffee service, packed to go...and still on the check. BIG no-no... The beers are good if you can actually get one delivered before your meal arrives. Otherwise, Murfreesboro offers a plethora of better choices, that don't have consistently understated waits for tables. read more

We visit this place often enough. The food is always great and has so many options. I like that they have multiple gluten free options which most places only provide one. The service can be a little slow. It's a cool place for a game, but the bar is usually packed so get there early. The reason we don't go here as often as we would want to is that the parking can be difficult. There's very limited space and tow signs if you try to park anywhere else. Let me just say... I was NOT ready for how good this pepperoni pizza was. I came into Jonathan's Grille expecting your average sports bar fare, but what I got was hands-down one of the best pepperoni pizzas I've had in a long, long time. First off -- the crust? Perfectly baked. Golden brown with a nice crunch on the outside and soft, doughy goodness in the center. It tasted like it had been kissed by a stone oven. No sogginess. No sad floppy slices. Just pure crust excellence. The pepperoni deserves its own paragraph. Thick-cut, slightly crispy at the edges, and loaded with flavor -- spicy, salty, and rich without being greasy. Every bite had that satisfying little crunch that only good pepperoni gives you. It wasn't just a topping; it was the main character. And the cheese... chef's kiss. Gooey, stringy, and golden on top. It pulled beautifully, had that perfect melt, and didn't drown the other ingredients. Underneath was a sauce that actually had FLAVOR -- a little sweet, a little tangy, with just the right amount of seasoning. The pizza had balance. You could taste every layer, and nothing was overpowering. It wasn't just good for a sports bar -- it was just good, period. Service was great too. My server was friendly, fast, and made sure everything was hot and fresh. Drinks were never empty, and I felt taken care of the whole time. TL;DR: If you're in Murfreesboro and craving pizza, do yourself a favor and hit up Jonathan's. This pepperoni pizza absolutely slapped. I'd come back for it in a heartbeat. Friends and I came in on a Thursday evening for dinner. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes, we ended up waiting closer to 35 minutes for our table. Once seated, it still took at least 10 minutes for the server to acknowledge us. By then we were ready to order our entrees. We didn't see drink menus, so we placed our meal orders, and asked her to bring us the drink menu. We also asked what the soup of the day was, she had no idea. Seems odd not to know that. She never did get back to us about the soup. The hostess was not paying much attention about how she was seating people, she gave the server 4 tables at 1 time. We were seated first of the 4 tables, but we kinda seemed to get lost in the shuffle. Our beers arrived pretty promptly after ordering them, however the food took a long time to come out. There was a food runner who brought out the food- when she dropped off the food to us, auction style- she didn't know who ordered what. When I waited tables we took orders in a way that if someone else ran out the food, they would still know who the food went to- not so at this establishment- she asked if we needed anything else. One friend asked for a sweet tea, her reply was- I don't do that. Ask your server! Then ran off. So many other ways to say this. Like, I will let your server know. The fish and chips were pretty standard- served hot, so that was appreciated. Nothing worse than cold fries. The fish tacos were ok- he said he wouldn't order them again. The kale salad was nothing special- I've had better bag salad kits at the grocery store. The shrimp was over cooked. I did appreciate the dressing on the side. We ordered another salad to go for the next day- the same food runner brought it to the table. The takeout container was sideways, and the salad was all over the place. She couldn't have cared less. She just dumped it and ran off. They have tvs all over so people can watch the various games- so obviously this will be a louder establishment. My friends told me this place has a decent happy hour- they have both an early and a late one that is popular. We had to flag down our server to get her attention for to go boxes and the check. The waitress was absolutely terrible. She was very slow. She couldn't remember anything. We had to ask multiple times for refills. We got our food before our silverware. She brought the check before we were done getting drinks. The wings were really good. We did not get the wings we ordered but they were good. We didn't want to wait on her to come back around. The Buffalo chicken dip was really. But the first we got was refrigerator cold. The second one was hot and had great flavor. The fried pickles were not as good as the last time we were there. They were just ok. The nashville hot sliders were great. My only complaint on them. Is they piled all the seasonings up in the middle. I had to spread it out. Me and my husband dined here for a quick lunch. The restaurant is located in a great area and parking is close by . The aesthetics of the restaurant are really nice (the exterior and interior) look new , clean and decorated nicely . The hostess greeted us promptly and friendly. The restaurant was highly populated but appeared to accommodate everyone as there was nobody waiting for a table. The menu was full of options to select from. We ordered a round of drinks and a pizza . The cosmopolitan was pretty good . We had to send the pizza back to cook a little longer - the crust was doughy and the cheese and toppings weren't cook through ..however once they brought it back it was perfect! We sat at the bar - the bar was pretty big in size . The bar had two bartenders, they were moving pretty slow and appeared to be struggling to keep up with demand . We dined around 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. The bar could have used one additional bartender in my opinion. The bartenders were friendly, but seemed overwhelmed. read more

This a great bar and grill to watch any sporting event, with plenty of TVs and great atmosphere, but get there early because it gets pretty crowded. They have good drink specials and the food is always great. The new Thai Crunch Chicken Wrap was delicious. The crispy brussel sprouts appetizer was also tasty. The service is usually average, and could use a little work on the attentiveness of the staff. My biggest criticism is the parking. They have a tiny parking lot that is almost always full and the surrounding parking lots all have tow warning signs. I come here fairly regularly, but would honestly come here more often if the parking was better. read more
