Was really hopeful this one would be a 5-star experience, but unfortunately it wasn't. I came with a group for a planned event. We called the restaurant multiple times to confirm they had the capacity for a group of 20, once on the day of our meal. Once we arrived, there were only two staff members in the restaurant, one in the kitchen and one server. After we placed our orders, the kitchen realized they were out of chicken and we had to place our orders again, this time with a limited menu. Once we ordered, it took quite a while to receive our meals and there were several items missing/incorrect. They were also out of ketchup even though most of the meals came with fries. I ordered the catfish poboy with mac and cheese. The catfish was delicious, but the rest of the sandwich fell apart for me. Literally. The sandwich was on white wonder bread that couldn't hold up to the catfish, sauce, pickles, lettuce, and cheese. Between the miscommunications, awkward interior, and food quality, it's hard to rate this restaurant more than 1 star. My bf and I went on a Friday evening around 5:30pm. We were greeted with friendly faces and seated immediately. We started the night off with the Cajun chicken quesadillas. We tasted the Cajun seasoning throughout the quesadilla and chicken. It was just enough of spice to tickle your throat. On to the star of the night! The catfish dinner arrived with 2 nice size fillets seasoned and fried to perfection. The smoked turkey collard greens were amazing, along with the white cheddar macaroni. The candied yams were decent. My sweet tea never got low because our waitress wouldn't let it. We met the owner and the GM, who were both very nice. The owner asked us how we liked the food and we gave it a 10/10. He also thanked us for coming in. The atmosphere is so inviting. We can't wait to go back and try the breakfast. read more

This food was so trifling I'm mad I wasted my money for $20. I got the catfish plate came with three sides. The turnip greens tasted like dog water. The yams look just like they taste Nasty! They didn't have mac & cheese so I got the wild rice and that also had no flavor at all. very disappointed first and last time eat at your own risk. read more

Visited this restaurant, first impression we felt special because we were the only customers Red flag or nah... Nah, from the customer service to appetizers to the entrees, everything was amazing! Kourtney was a great waitress who took the time to go over the menu with us being very attentive and friendly! Everything was flavorful and fresh. The greens were my fav, season to perfection. Had the Thanksgiving meal there. Food was ok, but nothing to rave about. Two drinks cost $28 plus tip. Turkey dinner was $44, which seemed pricey for the quantity and quality of the food. Service was very good. Overall, an ok experience, which we probably would not repeat. read more

We found out it is under new management and the new owner told us about all the changes they had made. All the staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. I heard about this restaurant & decided to try it..I walk in she tells me to sit anywhere.I sat at a table.I noticed it was only me and another costumer sitting at the bar.. the waitress came and took my drink order.i ordered sweet tea with lemon..I'm looking over the menu to see what I want to order.. as I was about to take a sip from my tea it was a dead fly in my tea..she apologized and said I'm giving you 50% off I explained to her it's not about the money.she swap my drink out..I ordered a wing meal with collard greens & rice.. I got the fried chicken wing dinner + 3 sides which consisted of collard greens, mac and cheese, and yams. The chicken had potential but underneath the batter had a slimy texture which did not sit well with me. Sides were cooked well but everything was bland.
