Loved it!! I made a reservation for a Friday night because I didn't know how packed it would be. I'm glad I did though because it did fill up pretty quickly there. The restaurant looked really nice. I loved the decor and the layout. We got in, and got seated right away. You can pretty much see the open kitchen environment even from our table. We started off with the baked oysters. It was pretty good. Their corn muffins were so yummy. It was soft and moist. A really good sweetness to it, but not overwhelming. It was made perfectly. I also tried the wild alaskan salmon. I requested mine well done because I just like my food that way and I just don't prefer soggy fish. I thought it was cooked perfectly for me. The presentation was really nice and the flavor was perfect for me. I don't have any complaints about this dish at all. I also tried the duck breast. I requested this well done as well. It was cooked perfectly and I thought it was seasoned perfectly too. The presentation was really nice for this one too. I really liked everything on this place. We chose Five Senses to celebrate a birthday, and it's a lovely spot for a special occasion. When we arrived, the staff had embossed our menus with a "Happy Birthday" message, which was such a thoughtful touch. We ordered a bottle of wine (delicious), and noticed some guests bringing their own, though I'm not sure about corkage fees. We started with the smoked pork croquettes, which were outstanding and ended up being the highlight of the meal. For entrées, we tried the lamb, braised beef, halibut, duck tacos, and mushroom ravioli. Everything was served promptly, and overall the food was very good, though there's room for small improvements. The braised beef came highly recommended but didn't stand out in flavor or texture. The lamb, cooked medium rare, was excellent. The ravioli was rich and tasty, though the cream sauce slightly overpowered the dish. The halibut was well prepared, but the potato leek cream truly stole the show. As we were leaving, the staff surprised us with a serving of strawberry ice cream for the birthday guest; a sweet and memorable gesture that capped off the evening nicely. Wow! Absolutely one of the best meals I've had in Murfreesboro. I came here for dinner on Saturday before Easter with my family, and we had a great time. The menu is the correct length, in my opinion. One page. All I need. They had a couple of specials, too. They seemed to have a really great selection of seafood. I had the duck entree, which was really one of the most delicious pieces of duck I've ever had. The spinach and potatoes underneath were delicious, too. Service was great, they took great care of us and helped celebrate a birthday, too! They were very well-staffed here and out waitress was very kind. Araya introduced the restaurant and the menu items with genuine enthusiasm to our work group. We all enjoyed our craft drinks that were promptly served after order. When I saw Five Senses had the Crab Stack on the menu, I was there. This is fresh crab meat and heirloom tomatoes in a light vinaigrette and basil aioli...perfectly combined and delicious. I added a Romaine Wedge to complete the meal and while this is not a "traditional" wedge, it is very good. The lightly grilled onions are an unusual but excellent match in the salad. I decided to give the Plum Torte a try for desert...it was good but very tart. While this was a "light" meal it was filling and very satisfying. The food was amazing, the burger was 10/10 best burger I've had in Tennessee. The flavor, the seasoning, the quality of products was top notch. The service was great. My husband and I visited Five Senses on recently for a date night. We were excited for a pleasant and lovely atmosphere as well as delicious food. We were seated in the back room with only walls to look at. The night began with the server and "server in training" greeting us and asking what we would like to drink. We ordered a bottle of wine and a small plate starter while eating the complimentary cornbread muffins. The small plate finally arrived and server in training asked if we needed anything else. 20 minutes later the server and server in training came by the table several times which during this time our dirty plates were ready to be picked up but yet they passed on by. My husbands fork was picked up and he had nothing to eat his entree with and finally had to asked for another. We were looking forward to sharing a dessert and had to ask for the dessert menu as it was not offered. All of the food was EXCELLENT the service disappointing! We have dined at Five Senses multiple times and had impeccable food and service. This bad experience will certainly determine whether we return again or not. We went here for our first time last night. I was concerned our reservation would be too late, but it was still very much busy. We sat at the kitchen station where we got to watch them make stuff. We have dined at five senses numerous times before without issue and raved about the place. Unfortunately today we had a vastly different experience. Our party had 4 adults, a 6 week old newborn, and an someone with multiple sclerosis wheelchair bound. I asked for a table in the back as there were multiple tables open when we arrived. We were seated in on a corner table however it was about 2 feet from another table where two people looked visibly sick with the flu. When escalating to the manager, she was at first very reluctant to switch tables. We could tell we were being a bother to her. She offered a smaller table in the middle of the restaurant citing "it's date night and they are fully booked". We left at 6pm and checked, they had reservations for 4 at 615 and 630. We won't be back and will be venturing to other restaurants in Murfreesboro moving forward. read more

Great experience with a larger group. Outstanding wedge salad but the blackened halibut was the star. Moist and flaky, the preparation was spot on with enough flavor to compliment the fish but not too much as to overwhelm the sweet taste of the halibut. The potato's gratin were seasoned perfectly with a little kick but were not greasy at all. Finished up with the dark chocolate torte to finish a great meal. We really enjoyed our meal. Our favorites were the goat cheese small plate, halibut and filet. Service was also great and attentive. The reason that I am giving 4 out of 5 stars is the fact that there is no changing table in the bathroom. This is very disappointing as we had our 18 month old with us. This is honesty the first restaurant we have been in that did not have one. We had to take our toddler out to the car and change him. So please be aware of this if you are dining with little. It's a small dining room with a nice bar. We called at 6 PM for a reservation but were told we would have to wait till 8 PM. I asked if there was bar seating and was told it was first come first serve. So we went right over within the next 15 minutes and lo and behold there was one table available for us. My wife and I visited Five Senses for the first time for our 23rd wedding anniversary. Overall, it was enjoyable, except for one omission. The restaurant is on the smaller side and is located in a strip center in a more upscale section of Murfreesboro. It is a little on the noisy side, but not annoyingly so. The menu is relatively small, which tells me they are trying to focus on excellence with the options offered. Local sources are listed for the menu items. The menu is divided into Small Plates and Large Plates with a nice variety of options without being overwhelming. My wife ordered the Tuna Wontons small plate, and I chose the Fried Oysters. She ordered the Rainbow Trout large plate, and I went for the Yellowfin Tuna. (I guess we were in a seafood mood, but I was also intrigued by a pasta dish with braised venison. There was also a filet option and a Wagyu burger choice.) My wife's tuna small plate was excellent. I cannot say anything about the fried oysters, because they were never delivered, which was a huge disappointment, as I love oysters and was excited to see them on the menu. Both of our large plate choices were delicious. The rainbow trout dish featured a definite Caribbean touch. I thought the spicy touch with the trout was a bit odd, because the delicate nature of trout can easily be overwhelmed, but I found the bite my wife shared to be quite tasty. The Yellowfin was perfectly seared on the outside and rare on the inside. It was accompanied by an inventive lentils and kale side. My wife enjoyed her drink, which was ginger flavored. The service was attentive without being intrusive or annoying. My only complaint is the person who took our order obviously forgot the small plate I ordered. Our total for one small plate, two large plates, and one cocktail was just over $100, which I thought was reasonable for the food quality. Five Senses is definitely one of the more upscale dining options in Murfreesboro. The experience was generally impressive. I look forward to visiting again at some point. read more
