Because there's a character limit on Yelp's post... what didn't make it into the first review and check in. Synopsis: Hooray for Slims Chicken new location. For the price point $9-$11/meal, obviously depending on what you get, a proper price point for the amount and quality of food and the (southern/Tennessean) hospitality experience. This currently can't be said for the other places (including sit down restaurants) that do skimp on the aforementioned areas and don't hit the mark. There's drive thru! It's located right next to Aldi's. Permitting, civil engineering, or the project manager and development dropped the ball with transportation flow and parking design. More likely cutting corners on cost. With the apartment complex directly behind these businesses it's going to be a bit if a cluster. The parking lot was full and drive thru loop is short. If you enter from the back by the apartments, there isn't a flow to zipper drivers into drive thru with drivers entering from Memorial Blvd and it's a tight turn right. Drive thru also goes through the parking lot, it's going to be tight trying to pull out of parking if the drive-thru line gets long. Parking spots are tight- ish less you have a compact vehicle. Hopefully in peak hours they'll have properly trained staff to help prevent incidents. Other businesses haven't opened yet, construction is still in progress, for streets and future business structures. It'll be interesting to see how things run once the area is fully developed. Not that this is a reflection upon this business. It's just interesting compared to other eateries set up further down the road. They all have much more space, it's as if a non Tennessean either deigned &/or approved development for these two blocks of development. It all, unfortunately, reminds me of big city, urban planning. read more

Why am I writing a review of a fried chicken place in Murfreesboro, where they are a dime a dozen along Memorial / Old Fort? Because I love their food. At first glance, they have chicken and wings... but it is so much more. You can get the tenders grilled or fried. You can get the tenders tossed in any of their wing flavors, even on their sandwiches. They have some nice sides instead of just fries. They have mason jar desserts. And they have an easy to use app / loyalty program. Slim's is one of my go to faves here in the Boro. The best part is you can get grilled tenders with a side salad if you're trying to be good (I'm not this time!) I am currently enjoying a mac and cheese bowl with tenders tossed in BBQ sauce. Usually, I do not rate chain stores, but this is not one of the mega chains, so here goes. I've enjoyed their first store on Thompson Lane. When they fry wings without breading, it is practically the way I do it at home. This new store does it the same way. Our order was exactly as expected. I make my own sauce and theirs is good, but I like my wings fried like I do them with my sauce. This works. I had fun. My wife had one of those things.... I think they call them "salads". Anyway, she enjoyed it. Our garbage is filled with wing bones and boxes. We HAD to pick a sauce, so I did, Now, what do I do with it all? Good job. we are coming back. read more

Underwhelming. It tasted like under-seasoned Zaxby's. It could have been an off day, but we received the smallest chicken strips and the blandest fries. They also gave me unsweetened tea instead of sweet. I might try them again, but not in the near future. read more

The food is always amazing, as always. For a quick meal, even if later in the evening, Slims on Memorial has you covered. The food is always plentiful and the chicken truly makes you want to come back for more. And of course, the atmosphere was clean and laid out well. However, this experience was one to remember. I placed a mobile order, and the food took a little longer than expected (Only 5 minutes). Unlike most restaurants (especially in fast food) which either don't have any customer service or award a "free item" for the wait, Slims on this experience have great customer service, and even included a special little gift. It's Slims service, food, and environment that keeps me hungry for Slims every week. I will 100% continue to be a future Slims-thusiest. read more

I went to this location today. The girl taking my order was very nice, as was the guy who gave me my order. That said, I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. One of the pieces of chicken was way overcooked and the fries weren't crispy nor hot, but the drink was very good. The only fast food restaurant that I have found to be consistent with really good food is Culver's, which I'll continue to go to. I won't be back to Slim's. read more
