This place has been on my list to try for quite sometime now. I discovered this place through the owner's youtube channel. I'm a beginner fisher and the owner does fishing videos around the area. Back to the food, this is a small shop with no table or chairs to sit in you order your food on the counter and get it within minutes. It's like a fast-food BBQ! The owner was super nice and was very helpful in going over the menu. We ordered brisket, wings, mac and cheese and potato salad. The brisket was tender juicy deliciousness with smoke! Not the liquid smoke that over powers everything. The brisket has a nice subtle smoke flavor. The bbq sauce was really good I got bot mild and hot. The hot was really hot I couldn't handle it and I like hot food so consider this a warning. The potato salad was perfect way to cool off my mouth. It has the right amount of sweetness and tanginess from the mustard. It's my favorite side dish. The mac and cheese was good my gf loved how cheese it was. My only complaint I think was it's a little over cooked the noodles didn't have texture but mush for me. I can't wait to go back and try the bbq nachos! read more

We heard good things about this place so we drove 30 mins from Nashville to give it a try and we were not disappointed. We were immediately greeted by the new owners who chatted with us and asked if we've ever been in. We let them know we were first timers so they went over some of the menu items. The brisket (which they smoke in house) goes quick so when they still have some to sell, make sure that's what you pick! We ended up ordering a brisket sandwich (with your choice of house made bbq sauce), pulled pork sandwich (I chose Carolina Gold bbq sauce), mac n cheese side, corn bread, and fudge pie (also made in house). Everything was flavorful and the meat was perfect. If you have a dog, make sure to pick up their twice smoked pork shoulder bone if you see that it's available! Our pup devoured his. Why is zero not an option? The two times I've been there (which will be no more), the owner (Richard, or maybe Dick is better...) has been rude and abrasive to someone. This time, he yelled at CUSTOMERS (yes, his own customers) for ordering too slowly. Then as they left and walked to their car, he said something VERY offensive about the woman and laughed maniacally. All of us looked at each other in shock and he said something about not needing new customers anyway. It was disturbing, I think he's got major issues... There are so many great BBQ places here, and honestly, the food here is nothing spectacular. So my recommendation is, don't support a local dick. read more

I either got quality food nor service the brisket was way fat straight and marveled all throughout and even on the sides I called him on it and he said that you must ask for the lien brisket. I couldn't pass up an opportunity to say how good my food was. Let me start by saying that it was amazing warmed up because my husband bought it for me at his lunch and I didn't get it until he got home (well after 5pm) and I warmed it in the oven on 425°. What did I have you ask? A BBQ pork loaded potato. Wow!! It comes with butter (on the side), sour cream (packet), bbq sauce (2 condiment cups), green onions, a liquid white cheese (could be queso), a few grape tomatoes (on the side) and of course the pulled pork. It was DELICIOUS!! I didn't have to add salt or pepper. I didn't even use the BBQ sauce that came with it. If it tastes this good warmed up, I would be blown away to eat it freshly ordered. I can't tell you about the ordering process or the service BUT this food is worth it. I hope to try this place again soon and see what else the menu has to offer. read more

Dropped by here the other day and picked up pulled pork sandwich and small brisket nachos. This place is strictly pick up and go which is always a nice thing. The guy making the food was a nice talkative guy but was having a rough day.from previous customers. The sandwich was big and had alot of meat. The nachos was good especially the queso cheese, but it did lack the tomatoes and sour cream. It did fill you up pretty good for the price. We would eat here again. read more

Hot diggity dog this place is great! I'm in town for work and was looking for a quick BBQ joint, because that's what you have to do in Nashville. Since it was a nice day, I also wanted to eat outdoors so I turned to Yelp to find good BBQ with outdoor seating. Better Days BBQ came up and was close to my office. The restaurant is small-no seating inside at all and only two small tables outside. It's great for a small party or for take out...not really a "sit down" type of place. But HOLY COW is the food good! I had the brisket with sweet barbecue sauce, green beans and baked beans. There was enough food in my meal for two people, but I proudly put most of it away myself. The owners were extremely friendly and even bought our drinks. I'll most definitely be returning the next time my travels bring my to the area. read more

The owner is rude, narcissistic and foul mouthed. I asked for a sample of the hot sauce to see if it was too hot for my liking, he replied I wasn't at Baskin Robbins and didn't have little spoons for sampling. Went from bad to worst. Calling some Nissan mgr (I suppose he saw I was in a Nissan uniform) a racist, rude mother f***** over him wanting a receipt. (He's not required by law to give a receipt). He proceeded to tell me he doesn't care if a customer returns because he's been in business for 6yrs and is "killing it". There was plenty said in 8 mins that I was there to get my order. Don't waste your money. The owner has anger issues and doesn't care about your business. He also disagree's with the 'customers always right', he went on a rant about that as well. Those wings though....not a fancy place but you walk in and it smells like smoked bbq heaven. The owner is super nice and tells awesome dad jokes. But...those wings! They are smoked to perfection and really no bbq sauce necessary on these at all. Go by and pick yourself up 10 or 50! I've seen it in passing many times. I actually stopped there, but they were closed since it was Monday. Take-out is the only way you get to enjoy this yummy food, and it is great. The owner is weird. This is not my evaluation,it is his. He said he was weird, and since he owned the business he had a right to be. My observation is that he is a bit eccentric. Local following is very strong. They "specialize in to-go orders" according to their website, yet they cant be bothered to answer the phone. You can't order online, and at 6:10 PM on a Thursday they took the phone off the hook so nobody can place a to-go order. No BBQ is worth this much trouble. Edit: my kids still wanted to try it so we got it anyway. Portions were humongous for the price but nearly all of it got thrown away. It's basically meat doused in Lowrys salt and then slow cooked. The ribs are the whole slab including the fatty chunk that most cut off. So it looks enormous but half of it is edible, and unless you are absolutely in love with Lowrys it wont be your cup of tea. He also "forced" my wife to buy a $4 cup of sauce which no one liked and was thrown away. The prices are appealing but still isn't worth it. While there, my wife watched him pay a postmates delivery driver $20 to not complete the order. Calling this guy eccentric is way too kind. Avoid this one. read more

His pulled pork is CONSISTENTLY some of the juiciest, most flavorful BBQ pulled pork I've had either here or back home in Memphis!!! You could, & I most certainly HAVE, make a sammie from the pulled pork WITHOUT ANY sauce & it would STILL be OUT-FREAKIN-STANDING!!! His spicy BBQ sauce IS SPICY, but its FLAVORFUL, NOT ao spicy that you can't taste anything else, including the pork. His smoked wings are ALSO amongst the best BBQ wings you can find ANYWHERE!!!! You can smell the BBQ smoking from the parking lot. It's not a sit down place, just take out. We got the family pack for 3 adults and it was perfect with some leftovers. We got the red skin potato salad and mac and cheese as sides. Real smoky flavor to the pulled pork. Short wait time, staff is friendly, and proud of their product (rightfully so!). LOVE THIS PLACE! Eve tried every barbecue place in town, and this one is by far the best! The guys that run the place are super nice, professional, friendly, and make the experience so much better. Love how they have set the prices to come out to an even dollar amount after tax. They were helping a local marine vet around the holidays that didn't have enough to eat by collecting can goods for him. I took a bag on non perishable food in for him, and planned to buy some BBQ. When it came time to pay, he told me that it had been paid by my generosity. What a nice surprise!! Again, love the place, love the people who run it, and love the food. I am not certain how this restaurant has an average of 4 stars. I will not be returning to this place for 2 reasons: the food and the experience. I'll start with the food. I had the pulled pork plate with a side of Mac n' cheese and mustard potato salad. I had to spend time picking out large sections of fat from the pork. The rest of the pork was mushy, which means that either it is extremely over cooked or left too long to warm at too high of temps in it's juices. If not for the barbecue sauce it really had very little flavor. Good barbecue should not need sauce at all. As for the sides that I had, they were most certainly store bought. In the South, where you can find a non-chain barbecue place on every other corner, your sides should be able to stand on their own and be made-from-scratch. These two were most certainly not. It's sad when the best part of the meal were the Wal-Mart/Sam's container sides. Now for the experience...I went in at a non-rush time. There was no one else waiting for food. From somewhere in the back, someone yelled asking what they could get for me. I peered through the plexiglass to see where the person was. They seemed extremely disinterested in the fact that I had walked in. I told him that I would wait until he finished what he was doing to come and wait on me because I was not in a hurry (as I am not into yelling at one another from across an establishment). He scoffed and told me to go ahead and order. I told him that I had a few questions first. He yelled for me to go ahead and ask away. I told him that I would just take a minute and look at the menu myself and figure out what to order without my questions. This then irritated him. He made a few smart comments. At this point I just wanted to get food (which I would have been better off not doing) and leave. I finally yelled out an order to him. As he checked me out he completely continued to be a smartxxx and was condescending. He needs to learn to treat customers as if they are actually his customers and not people that are just walking in and interrupting him. Even if the food had been good, I would not go back to this place due to the experience and the egotistical/dismissive owner. If you want good barbecue looks elsewhere. Plenty of great places around this area. If you like store bought sides, mushy meat and flippant /rude attitude...this is your place. read more

The pulled pork is some of the best I've ever had, the baked beans are stringy and delicious because they're jam-packed with pulled pork too. Standard but good homestyle mac n cheese. The BBQ sauce is homemade and he can customize it to be as spicy as you like. I was going to another well known BBQ joint in the area, but this is my holy grail BBQ one stop shop now. We had gotten wings at work, they was very good therefore I had to go the next day and get some more. I looked online and the price for 50 wings was $36 and some change, get there and 50 wings was def not that price. They simply was $1 a wing. No matter if you get 1 or 250. The guy behind the counter is def strange. Has a very dry sense of humor and almost robotic. His opening line is how can I make your day better as if he is tired of saying it. Wow!! I was actually headed to another spot but their hours indicated they were closing so I saw this place out of the corner of my eye. Never having been here I glanced at Yelp and since the reviews were good I went to check it out. As I approached the door, I saw the hours said they closed at 7 and it was like 5 after, so I turned around and headed back to my car. That's when one of the workers called out to me and told me to come in and he'd get me taken care of. Thinking that since it was after closing I'd be limited in the menu, I asked if there was anything off limits. He said no, they would do whatever I wanted and then he went over the menu with me. I wanted a pulled pork sandwich, and when I saw the large sandwich was only 3.65, I figured they were smallish so I ordered 2 and a side of turnip greens. After a couple of minutes, I get handed a bag with a carton and two wrapped sandwiches. The bag had to weigh 5 pounds lol. I can definitely work with this I'm thinking. He then wished me a better day, which I thought was cool, and I left. Then I get home and open the bag, and the first sandwich looked like one that would flip over Fred Flintstones car. I took a bite and started thinking "where have you been?" I let my son, who is very finicky have a bite, and he said it was good, and from him that's high praise. I ate some of the greens, which were also outstanding. After 1/2 of the greens and one sandwich, I was stuffed, and that NEVER happens. Now I've got lunch for tomorrow lol. This ain't a real bbq place. It's not grilled or smoked. It's almost liked it's baked with seasons. The bbq sauces are decent, and the sides were good. We found Famous Dave's by searching Yelp as we always do. Since the reviews were good, we ventured in. First, our waitress Charlotte was awesome!! She was so attentive and answered all of our questions. She kept my hubby's coffee filled continuously. Now onto the food. He got the three meat dinner. He was very happy with his selection, however he wished he had gotten the 2 meat selection because he had a lot of food. The pulled pork was awesome, I tasted it. I am not much for barbecue, so I got the ribeye. It was a little over done, but it had a good flavor. The corn muffin was so awesome and the banana pudding was out of this world!! Had heard raving reviews of the place and really wanted to try it. I saw that masks were required (not an issue), so I went in with one on. I have a tendency to pull mine slightly away from my mouth so that I can be heard better; that's when the owner proceeds to yell at me that i needed to ensure that my mask was kept over the bridge of my nose, and that he could see the top part of my nostril. I politely apologized and explained that I was only pulling it out a little so that he could hear me better. His exact response was "you don't need to worry about me hearing you better, you need to be concerned with protecting me from your respiratory droplets". After getting chastised like that, I will not be supporting this restaurant. I'm all about business owners reserving the right to mandate mask, but he went about it the wrong way. read more

Oh my God. I've kept hearing about this place from my boyfriend and his best friend and I finally got to check it out. I decided to get a brisket sandwich (always get brisket at any BBQ place you go) with macaroni. This sandwich is HUGE!!! I couldn't even finish it. It was so delicious I took it home to enjoy for lunch the next day. The brisket was perfection. Macaroni also good. I really don't have much to say about it than it was just delicious. I got it spicy as opposed to sweet, which is how my boyfriend eats it. Friendly service as well! Sadly, I never got to enjoy that leftover sandwich. My husband and I are trying out all the BBQ joints in Smyrna. Better Days is our second stop. Firstly, I love that they greet people by asking, "How can we make your day better?" The guys there are so friendly. I ordered the brisket plate, mustard potato salad, and greens. (This is my go-to meal to decide how awesome a BBQ place is!) I also had some spicy sauce and cornbread. The brisket was amazingly tender. The potato salad was one of the best I've had. (I like it straight forward without all the extra seasonings.) And the greens were warm and delicious. I loved the sauce. It was a perfect balance between sweet and spicy. But, the cornbread was dry. This place is meant for carry-out, but we ate at one of the 2 tables inside.
