The meat was on point! Best brisket I've ever had outside of my own smoker. Ribs were perfect, though I would enjoy a little more dry rub dusted on them when served. Pulled pork was great also. The only thing my wife and I didn't enjoy as much were the sides we ordered. While we were there though we saw lots of Mac n cheese coming out of the kitchen so we will be trying that next time. Their regular BBQ sauce was also good. The service was great. Friendly and attentive servers. The restaurant was surprisingly clean. Not spotless but you can tell they clean. Did a google search for the best bbq near me and this place came up and after reading some reviews I decided to give it a try and it was delicious! The pulled pork was juicy and flavorful even without the house bbq sauce on it. The potato salad was good and so were the wings!! The green beans were bland and over cooked. The cornbread mini muffins were also missing an ingredient but I couldn't really put my finger on it. Overall the food was good and the portion size was great. Wow... I'm really impressed with Single Tree. Their brisket was tender and juicy, but those spare ribs just melted off the bone. The sausage was like a flavor bomb going off in your mouth and mixed with their hot bbq sauce, it sent my tastebuds straight to heaven! I had originally ordered a slab of ribs and brisket al la carte, but they didn't have a full rack of ribs so they gave me some sausage to make up for it. The service there is great too and I loved the energy in this place, next time I'll have to dine in instead of doing carry out. A few TVs on the walls make it an okay place to watch a game. I love when barbecue joints have premade platters that lets me try a little bit of their various meats, though usually not for a single individual based on the name like Single Tree's Community Style Sampler which I will happily be the whole community. When I saw the golden fat on the brisket, I knew I'm set. Just how moist the brisket was and evenly seasoned throughout the meat. There aren't many variations on how to talk about great brisket because you don't need any complicated adjectives. It was the first meat that disappeared into my belly. Loved it. After that the pulled pork disappeared. It was again moist and alternating bites of the pulled pork and bites of the pickled jalapeños made it disappear before my eyes. The beans. The slaw. The Mac. Just the volume as well if the sides. Look at that mountain of slaw. You can ski on that. I'll be honest. This was my second platter of the day so I didn't finished everything but dessert is always an exception. The "Dark Side of the Moon" that was ice cream with a warmed moon pie, chocolate sauce and whipped cream was excellent. It came out waaaaaay bigger than I was expecting. But one bite into marshmallow and ice cream . . . I ate it all. Next year if I have to make the drive between my Chattanooga office and Nashville office. . . Im stopping by again. read more

I really liked this place. We got in during lunch on a weekend and it wasn't too packed. The service was pretty quick. They come and get your order at the table, and they also had a small bar that serves beer. I tried their small sampler, chilli, and grilled cheese. My favorite thing here was the chilli and beans. Their chilli is soooooo yummy. I loved it!! I pretty much liked everything that I had here. I wasn't too big on the pulled pork, though. I've also never been that big on pulled pork so it's probably just me. Their brisket had a nice flavor. I also liked their curly fries a lot. Their spicy bbq sauce is very yummy!! I loved it!! During a recent visit to the food truck, I was quite please with my sliced brisket sandwich so I ordered food to go. My order was the Sampler Platter which comes with brisket, pulled pork, coleslaw, jalapeño sausage and jalapeños with sauce on the side. I added a sliced of smoked bologna. Before leaving the lot, even though I was full, I tasted the meats. For me, this platter is a little bit of heaven. I could hardly wait to finish the rest later on. The next day, I happily warmed up my Platter and dug in. M first time having smoked bologna - it was a very tasty thick slice. The pulled pork and brisket was still juicy and wonderful. I especially like that these are served without being sauced. The full flavor of the meat stands well on its own. The jalapeño sausage had just the right amount of heat for me - I could see myself eating these a few times per week. Not bad for a new business. We were immediately greeted by our server. My husband ordered the smoked bologna sandwich with potato salad. He devoured the entire thing and was ready to order a second one! The potato salad was good...a little dry compared to what I'm used to in the Midwest, but very good flavor. I ordered the BBQ burrito and LOVED IT! I dipped each bite in their mild sauce and I licked my fingers clean! Service was great. Quick backstory... I move to Tennessee about a year ago and ever since been missing the quality and variety of food from the west coast. I was recently inside Outpost Armory for a little target practice and was speaking with the range officer Aaron who was also a west coast transplant. We got to talking about the food and he recommended I try Single Tree Barbecue in Murfreesboro. That turned out to be a great tip! My girlfriend and I drove directly to Single Tree Barbecue where I recognized the gigantic smoker in the parking lot. We went inside and found a clean and comfortable environment and the smell of good food. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu options. Being our first time there, we ordered the Community Style Sampler which cost about $46. and the fried pickles appetizer for $8. Add in one sweet tea and 1 Coca-Cola And our total came out to about $61. I thought this to be an average price for the size of meal, but I was mistaken when the food arrived. This was easily Going to be a full lunch and full dinner for two people. The food was served in about 5 - 7 minutes! The fried pickles we're good and came with a white barbecue sauce. To me, it tasted like hot wing sauce without the heat. I personally prefer ranch, so we ordered a side of ranch dressing to go with it. Each table had Single Tree brand BBQ sauce in both "regular" and "spicy." Their sauce favored slightly to the vinegary style sauce. My personal preference is a mesquite-maple-brown sugar style. With that being said, their style of BBQ sauce was good and paired nicely with the meats. This is not a knock on them, it is merely a matter of preference. The quality of meats were excellent and all items were cooked to perfection. The brisket was falling apart with tender juiciness and very flavorful. The ribs had a dry appearance but were also tender and easily removed from the bone. They were covered in a very tasty dry rub like none other I have ever had before. The sausage links had what I think were diced jalapeno peppers inside which added a fantastic flavor. There was nothing fancy about the baked beans and coleslaw, but they were good too. The Mac and cheese was some of the best I've ever had. We literally ate until we were full, boxed up the leftovers, and then had it again for dinner. We still didn't finish it all that night! I've tried many barbecue restaurants in middle Tennessee. Some of them get a couple items right, but none of them get everything right.... until now. I will declare Single Tree Barbecue as my favorite Tennessee barbecue location until the future brings me another unicorn. Well done Single Tree BBQ! read more

Today I returned for the 2nd time in a week. I had other business in Murfreesboro, but the restaurant is about 35 minutes from my home. After eating there last week, it was an easy decision when it was time to grab some lunch. Last week I ordered the smoked bologna sandwich w/ fries and a drink ($10 lunch special). I also ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a side of Mac & Cheese. The smoked bologna sandwich was really good and the fries are curly fries, which are always my go to. The pork sandwich was made with plenty if pork that was pulled and placed as "tubes". I really enjoyed this, because this is how I make it at home. When I returned today, I went with the pulled pork sandwich, fries & a drink ($10 lunch special). This sandwich was made with shredded BBQ which was still really good but give me tubes over shredded ANY DAY. I am glad that I know this know and I understand the reasoning behind it. The meat and sides were really good, BUT THE BUN. They really serve these sandwiches up on great buns that are buttered also. Always glad to see restaurants take the extra step on something simple like the bread. I also had the smoked salsa and chip appetizer. While I'm not a huge salsa fan, I wanted to try it. It had a strong smoke flavor, which isn't necessarily for me - but was good. And the chips were freshly cooked. I wouldn't order it again, but would recommend it to a chips and salsa guru! On the inside, it has a sports bar feel to it, but is not loud and is very welcoming. The staff was top notch and very attentive. My experience so far has been A+ and they're 2/2! I gotta get back soon at dinner time so I can try one of the samplers - but I will admit it will be hard to pass on the pork sandwich and/or bologna sandwich w/curly fries! How in the world that pig was able to walk around with those tiny ribs is beyond me, but part of him is now in my belly! All of the staff were welcoming, hospitable, and professional. You felt wanted, which is always a good thing. How many places have we been where we were just another "have to", right? These people had the "I get to" personalities! Instead of emitting that "I have to serve food" feeling, they clearly gave off the vibe of "I get to serve food"! They even enjoy what they serve. They were knowledgeable about their menu and condiments, too! The new business caught my eye from the road. that big blue smoker looks inviting! I love a good brisket and especially ribs. When I brought it to their attention they apologized and took it back and supposedly attempted to warm it up by putting it in an oven. Food came back out 2 minutes later, still cold. If you've ever cooked in an oven you know that 2 minutes isn't enough to warm up food, so I don't know what they were trying to do back there. I told them that the food was still cold, so if they could just bring me to-go containers I would take it and warm it up at home. At this point their demeanor changed, and I'm not sure why, but they didn't offer any more apologies and barely made eye contact as I packed my food. The sides were ok.. the beans weren't hot, and the cornbread muffins are served cold (like from the fridge cold), and our Mac and cheese was burnt (smelled and tasted like Burnt grill). We ordered the Brisket Plate and half rack of ribs both with a side of curly fries, a BBQ Burrito, and a side of beans. I think it's safe to say we all were disappointed a little with our meals. None of the food looked like the pictures advertised. The Brisket pictured on their website was juicy and tender, but the Brisket we received was dry, unseasoned, with zero salt. The meat didn't taste like it was good quality meat, which made it even more disappointing. The ribs were the only thing that didn't lack salt, the downfall was that it was so tough you needed to sharpen your teeth to eat 'em, but they were better than the Brisket. Still, a bit of a disappointment though. The BBQ Burrito was probably the best thing we ordered from them. Though it didn't look like the picture on their website, the taste was decent. It lacked salt, but with their BBQ sauce it was good. The pulled pork was tender and juicy and tasted quite good. Overall the BBQ Burrito was good. The baked beans were okay, but they had no salt, and they looked absolutely nothing like the picture on their site. The fries are bomb. Well-seasoned. And they're curly, which I personally loved. I don't think I'd be back, but I wouldn't try to stop others from going there either, I always wanna support veterans; thank you for your service.
