THE ABBEY IS A HIDDEN GEM INSIDE THE TASTY TABLE! I am so excited that Murfreesboro finally has a place where food and overall experience is the core of the restaurant. And when we arrived to the tasty table we discovered that it was closed but the Abbey Pub & Coffee House was still serving food. Let me begin by saying Austin is by far one of the nicest human beings I've ever met and was a staunch champion of the Chef and her expertly curated menu. The Monkey Bread is a the best I've tasted & adds a unique touch by having four sections with different flavors. Herbs & cheese adorn the top of this appetizer & with the garlic & marinara dipping sauces this makes for a starter that the entire table will fight over. So much so we bought an extra batch to go. I ordered the Beer Battered Mahi Mahi with beer battered asparagus & I can honestly say this is the most delectable fish I'd ever tasted. The batter is fried to perfection until it's flaky, golden/brown. The Mahi Mahi is so juicy, which is a hard task because often times restaurants overcook the fish. Not The Abbey...you can tell the chef(s) take pride in each dish. And I've never had fried asparagus & I can honestly say this will be my new go to over fried green beans. The batter gives the asparagus just the right amount of sweetness they need to take a relatively boring veggie to the next level. My mother ordered the Pasta. I'm not a pasta eater but I surprisingly look over my mothers plate. The sauce was so flavorful...savory with a hint of sweet that makes for a boatload of fireworks on your tastebuds. It's quite delicious. My only request would be to the option add a protein like chicken or salmon BUT honestly it doesn't need a thing. Here's a secret...Order the Flybird...it's an amazing take on a margarita...it uses wine instead of tequila. Thank me later. Overall my Abbey experience is easily my new favorite restaurant in Murfreesboro and when I come home to visit my parents this will be my go to spot. After having two catered meals, I was not impressed. The first was a broccoli casserole that as a fiend said, had too much sour cream or cream cheese. The next event brought out lasagna. Pasta was overcooked and mushy. Not much in between the layers of pasta and too salty. It tasted like a bad version of Chef Boyardee canned pasta. Cookies for dessert looked store bought. The salad and bread were good. Not my favorite and I don't understand all the five star reviews. They don't rate in my book. read more

Bug with wings found in one of our catered lunch box salads. Owner asked us not to order with her again. Told us we had no common sense when we elected not to eat the other salads included in our order. We had concerns of other bugs to be found or cross contamination as all of the meals would have been made together. This pains me to write because I'm big into supporting small businesses, but when the owner was this bad it deserves to be called out. We use Tasty Table for catering at work. Last week one of my employees found a large bug in her greek salad. It was covered in dressing, so clearly had been in there for awhile. We immediately called the lady we deal with to place the orders, she was so nice and apologetic and told us she'd contact the owner. She also said they'd refund us the price of the salad, and I kindly requested they refund the whole order. To be frank, none of us wanted to eat our food not knowing where it had now been prepared. I offered to still pay for the delivery charge, but asked that the 6 sandwiches and salads be refunded. She said she'd call the owner and get back with us. About 15 minutes later, the owner called back and so nasty to us! Said we needed to 'have some common sense' that the lettuce was organic, justifying why the bug was in there....WHAT? I could not believe it! Said it was completely ridiculous we were asking for a full refund, and that we were no longer customers of there's and not to call back or ever place an order again. We have used them for catering for office events MANY times over the past year. I probably would have continued to use them, but the owner was so mean and rude, never again. As a small business owner, just take accountability, refund us the $90 or whatever it was and let's move on. We have given them a lot of business, but I was so disheartened and even if we wanted to, we apparently can never order from there again. read more

I can honestly say everytime I have been here I have had something so delicious! Today was no different. I have been trying the pescatarian diet for a weeks. Tasty table has a black bean wrap that I had to try, man was it so good! I picked it up and it was warm which was such a pleasant surprise. There were plenty of flavors going on in the wrap and it hit all the taste buds. I had a side of hummus and carrots with it, which is such a healthy option. We have heard good things about this restaurant and decided to try out their breakfast. My husband ordered the southern breakfast and I ordered the sweet potato hash. We also ordered the fellowship blend and Guatemala blend coffee. The southern breakfast was ok. We could definitely tell the biscuits were made from scratch but the portion size was on the small side for $9. The sweet potato hash was good but definitely too greasy for my taste. The egg was slightly over cooked as well. The fruit skewers were a nice ending to the meal as a palate cleanser. The coffee was really good and probably our most favorite part. Super cute and great food. Stephanie was extremely helpful- especially with Jules gluten allergy. They even went off the menu to make her a special cauliflower pizza. Couldn't have been more accommodating. The pizza wasn't cooked throughly. But it's the thought that counts. The rest of our party (4 gluten eaters) had sandwiches, soup, and quiche. My husband and I had chosen Tasty Table to cater our wedding back in 2020. Thanks to COVID, our wedding reception got delayed to June 6, 2021, and Tasty Table was able to reschedule us without any extra costs (Although, I never received an email confirming that it was rescheduled). We had discussed using small plates as our buffet since we wanted to do small plates from different places we've been (spanakopita from Greece, steak tacos from Mexico, you get the idea) instead of doing a full course. The owner had agreed to this (no advisement from her on how to best go about our plan), and we thought she was also on the same page, but she was clearly not. She never asked for clarification on anything, and we found out after the event she just assumed that they were appetizer stations before a meal (she was our only caterer + we did not order anything other than these small plates), and did not take into consideration what our plan was. When we went to get our food the night of the event, the food tasted fine, but the food was COLD already, and my husband and I were the first to get our meal. The food is made in house and then transported to the venue. They did heat it up when they arrived, but apparently the serving room was too far away from the kitchen, so the food got cold (it was literally one room away). Everyone was only able to get one helping as nobody from their staff asked if there were extra plates or if anyone wanted seconds (we had 100+ extra plates in the kitchen waiting for people to use for seconds). The plan was for the food to be kept out until 8:15 (last call for food + starting the breakdown). This did not happen as the food was put up around 7:00, and guests who had arrived late did not get a plate. The staff was not well-trained in cleaning up as they kept trying to take plates from people who were still eating around 6:30. This meant we disposed of OVER HALF of the food that we had paid for because it was picked up too early. The staff also seemed to be in a rush to clear plates off of the tables - One of our guests said the staff tried to take his plate THREE times when he finally had to say," Do NOT touch my plate, I am still eating. Can you not see there is still food on my plate?" When we received an email after the event about providing feedback, we emailed the owner with our honest feedback. She did not take this well as," This is the first email [she] had ever received where [they] did not satisfy [their] client in the past 11 years." I HIGHLY doubt this. She also begged us to not write poor reviews about our experience with her company. She was very argumentative with the feedback, owned up to picking up the food too early, and blamed everything else on either the planners or us. Throughout the whole process, we were not impressed. We are not professionals in the field of catering as she claims to be; we have no idea what it takes to put all of this together, so we expected more advisement on the situation prior to the event, but we never received any communication on this. Came in for lunch, after looking at the menu I thought this place is extra and I may not find anything I like. I thought wrong! I tried the grill cheese with bacon, havarti cheese and blackberry jam, it did also have jalapeno but I told them to not put those on. Jam on a grilled cheese is absolutely yummy! I just attended a wedding last Sunday, catered by Tasty Table. OMG. OMG. OMG EVERYTHING was absolutely DELICIOUS! Full of flavor, fresh!!! Tasty Table is a nice little restaurant for the downtown area. Downtown restaurants tend to come and go, but the amount of people in the restaurant on a weekday lunch would suggest that Tasty Table will be here for a while - deservedly so. On top of the great atmosphere (and beautiful garden area), the food was delightful. From the lunch menu, I got the Nana. The meat was very tender and delicious, but the bread did get a little soggy. I also shared the blackberry bacon grilled cheese sandwich, which had a very interesting yet delicious combination of salt, sugar and heat. The Tasty Table and Olive Branch Bakery is a real treat. Their location downtown is very quaint and relaxing to go in and grab a coffee. The food is very high quality and delicious!
