Honestly my expectations were super low and the Waffle House was a surprisingly good eatery. You get what you pay for and the prices are cheap. I am from California and wanted to experience eating at a Waffle House; which is a place of rumor and infamy. We went during the day to avoid any chance of confirming certain rumors. The menu had breakfast and lunch options. I had the special and it was definitely a bargain for how much food you get. There were 6 of us and our bill was below $75. Dang good for this economy. The service was good enough, drinks got filled and food got to us. No one was rude. Would go again for the prices alone. read more

Oh boy How can anyone not love the Waffle House. Immediately when you walk in you get the smell of bacon eggs and the Waffle smell that you start to drool ! The old school diner look and the way the orders are called out to the cooks is amazing . So fast paced. Everyone that works here always has such a great attitude , greeting you when you come in, seats you as fast as possible, comes and gets your order, and believe me you get your food so fast. I placed an online order, and waited 35 minutes for my food. It wasn't busy when I arrived, but still took forever. As I got in my car I realized they gave me the wrong toast, so I went back in. While I waited to get the correct toast, the cook handed the server a hot plate, which burned him, and the cook thought it was hilarious. Real classy place, slow service, not a good experience. After I got to my hotel, I realized they had way overcooked my eggs. Overall a really bad experience. read more

I came here with a large party of 10 on a late Saturday night. The restaurant already had a lot of guests. We were seated quickly, the servers were attentive, and the interior was clean. It looked like a classic waffle house with retro decor and an open kitchen space. They had people at every table by the time we were seated and eating; however, our service was still great. Our server Caiti was quick, friendly, and welcoming from the moment our order was taken to the moment we payed. This was truly the best Waffle House staff i've seen. I frequent Waffle House and usually enjoy the experience. Not here. Not today. My wife and I are the only customers in the store with 3 employees. The cook showed up to hear our order about 5 minutes after we ordered. I heard the waiter recite the order correctly. She messed up my order, but waited to inform us that they were "going to make gravy" for my wife's biscuits and gravy until after my order was served. Then the cook disappeared until I was almost done eating. She eventually showed up again to hear that my wife decided to just get eggs. She made those and remade my hash browns (now with no egg to eat them with) then promptly disappeared again. The young waiter did his job. I don't think the gravy is started yet. It's nice to be greeted by the whole staff when you walk in, tired and hungry, on a Sunday morning. Sabrina is an awesome server! The food came out quickly and was fresh and hot. It hit the spot just right and we were able to get back on the road quickly. We love hitting up Waffle House on our road trips because there isn't one convenient to us in St. Augustine, FL. Waffle House is always good no matter where you go. This one in Murfreesboro is just as good as any Waffle House I've been to.

We eat here every Sunday. Today was the worst by far. Ordered a muffin, triple hash browns and large bacon. The muffin tasted like everything they ever cooked on the grill combined, couldnt eat it. The bacon was so well done that it had no taste but burnt, couldnt eat it, home fries were good. Took forever to get, not the servers fault. The kid on the grill was slow as shit. Its a sham because i hear alot of people complaining. They need to put more time into training. Put new cooks on overnight shift thats not as busy until they learn, nit on a Sunday morning breakfast rush. It will be awhile before i return. Its a shame because its the servers that suffer. read more

This is by far the WORST Waffle House that I've visited --- we are talking 5+ states and counting! I'm not even speaking on the menu as I love the simplicity and continuity, but the differences in the manner in which the items are prepared --- yep, the WORST. It wasn't "bad" but it wasn't good either. Maybe it's in the cooks execution? Meh. Let's talk about what REALLY prompted this review [which I rarely write these days]. THE LACK OF CLEANLINESS‼ It is much easier for me to deal with a subpar meal, but it is NOT ACCEPTABLE for any establishment to be nasty [nasty = lacking cleanliness] the table, condiment containers and dishes were sticky [in the case my coffee mug, it had residual lipstick marks on it], but it was the highchair that made me gag! Leftover dried food, sticky any and EVERY WHERE your child's hands could touch, there was food compacted into the crevices of the chair. Who wants to subject their child to that⁉ This is the reason I keep disinfecting wipes and disposable placemats in my bag --- this nasty was too much for my poor wipes --- it was THAT disgusting! The best thing about this dining experience was our server [Hallie]. Even in the face of my turned up, picky and true Northeastern chuff she kept a smile & pleasant demeanor while apologizing at my every complaint. Very disappointed in the customer service the waiter Tasha is rudest person I've experienced at a Waffle House I came in to usual 5$ double waffle she goes and jumps in on my waitress Whitney (nice waitress did good) and swore up and down there was no double waffle and that wasn't even a 5 dollar menu at this location. So she decides to charge me separately and later serves the menu covering half the 5$ menu telling her that they don't sell double waffle. It seem foul so I asked for the five dollar menu which they claim they didn't have. I found it on the menu myself and showed them all they offer it was a glass of water didn't even give me an apology let alone she didn't even come out of the back so be careful at Waffle House people hopefully you won't have to go thru what I went though at this location read more

I've eaten at Waffle House restaurants plenty in my time, and this is the first time I can remember being completely disappointed. Steak and eggs with grits and toast, OJ and coffee- $13, so not cheap. Steak was what I expected, 1/4 inch thick. And barely a steak, but taste was pretty good. Since Waffle House is known for their hash browns, that's what I should have ordered, but I really like grits so ordered them instead. Awful, and I have gotten pretty good grits before, at other Waffle House restaurants. Eggs are so cheap, that I don't understand why "1 order of eggs" is not 3 eggs, instead of 2, other than a restaurant just being cheap. Scramble 2 eggs, and there is not much there. Eggs were ok. As I said, steak was ok, grits terrible. OJ was some "from comcentrate", weak, tasted watered down, and not sweet. Their coffee is ok, but not fantastic: 7/10. And one pet peeve: they have no REAL butter, only some butter substitute "spread" like margarine. Yuck! So my suggestion to Waffle House: don't skimp on the eggs, considering the price, if you can't cook real grits (god, please, no instant grits) then don't serve them. Get real butter, and real, NOT "from concentrate" OJ. I truly believe that any additional money they spend on such things, they will more than make up for, as they will make up for, and skimping just costs customers in the long run. It's a false economy. Suggestion for myself- maybe just go elsewhere for breakfast, since they almost certainly will not do the things I suggested. read more

I've been going to the Waffle House since childhood I'm 43 now but this has to be the most unprofessional and just plain nasty place in Murfreesboro. You would think with the place just recently being renovated that the employees moral would be high and just maybe they would take a little pride in the place but it was the most depressing experience I've ever had and I haven't been back to any waffle house since. I ordered a waffle and bacon. The waffle was tiny no exaggeration a small child could have ate 2 of those things plus I got the waffle first and I sit there 5 min waiting for the bacon and by the time the cook remembered he had bacon that was completely burnt my waffle was not only a baby waffle but at this point was cold. My server was some high school kid that evidently had ADD because he couldn't be still and seemed more worried about getting his groove on to the music that was playing. Waffle House Corp. should definitely check into these shady people they are hiring at every location in Murfreesboro. Avoid this location if you value your health.... read more
