I ordered a 6 piece wing 1/2 soy garlic and 1/2 spicy with a side of pickled radish and an oder of Korean cucumber salad. While they are on the pricier side, I still find that their food is definitely well worth it. My order was still nice and hot after a 20 min drive home. The chicken was super crispy with bold spicy and garlicky flavors. The radish was light and sweet and the cucumbers salad was delish. Definitely a fan and will be back for more. read more

Not a bad spot at all. We finally got the chance to try the one in the boro. We've had the one in Smyrna before, but wanted to give this one a try. You pretty much go up the counter, and place your order. They bring you your food once it's done. We came during lunch on a Sunday, and it wasn't busy at all. Their tech time was really good. We tried their spicy wings and at the time we came, they came out with a new one called classic fried chicken. I prefer their regular classic wings. I really don't have any complaints about how they fried it. It had the crunch. I really liked their pickled radish. The fries weren't bad, either. In all, I didn't have a bad experience. read more

Missed having Bonchon since moving to TX so I definitely had to get my fix while visiting here in Murfreesboro. I'm noticing that every Bonchon I go to is ran a bit different than the others, I believe they are franchises. This one unfortunately didn't have the Takoyaki that my husband likes but he was able to find something else on the menu that he enjoyed! This specific location is ran more like a fast food spot rather than a restaurant like the other Bonchons I've been to. The two female cashiers were nice and welcoming when my family and I walked in. I ordered the pork buns, seasoned fries and pickled radishes. My husband got their bulgogi fries. Everything tasted great and we were all pleased with our food! So I'm giving 2 stars for the place being clean and the friendly staff, but... I ordered Bibimbap. It was $16 and the picture on the menu showed lots of vegetables and meat. What I got was more than half a container of lettuce. Just plain lettuce. Then at least another 1/3 container of plain shredded carrots. I got about 2 tablespoons of egg and maybe 1/8 cup of meat. All this on about 1/2 cup of white rice. What a rip off. In no way does what I got resemble what is advertised. Save yourself some money and take your business elsewhere. read more

Bonchon is always my favorite KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). In the past 11 years, the sauce recipe has been the same. It tastes the same no matter what locations you go. I love the soy garlic and spicy sauce with the crunchy wings! The pickle radish goes really well with the fried chicken. It cleans your palate and cut that greasiness in your mouth. I've been patiently waiting for this location to open! Formerly, this restaurant was a Pizza Hut, so they are utilizing the drive-thru window for pick up orders. (Please note, you must make your order in advance to use the drive-thru.) I ordered the extra crispy, Korean BBQ chicken tenders and street corn. My son ordered the hot tenders with seasoned fries. The chicken is interesting! But, I really like the way it's fried. I'm giving it 4 stars because it's ridiculously expensive for what it is. Plus - why, oh, why do I have to pay extra for dipping sauce? Service was good and pretty fast, considering how many people were there. The restaurant is laid out a little weird. Finally a Korean bbq chicken place in Murfreesboro, but it's not bb.q chicken! Murfreesboro really needs a bb.q chicken place, it will definitely blow bonchons away we did an carry out order here. We got both wings and chicken drummies. The drummies were super tiny, just slightly bigger then the dumettes. When you order wings at this location, you get both flaps and drumettes at the symrna location when you order wings, you get all flaps and when you order drummies, you get drumettes. Ok did I confuse y'all? Just go to the Murfreesboro location . Chicken was fine but more so on the salty side. Sad that their slaw was just an American Cole slaw. Was hoping for a korean type of slaw. Location can be a little difficult to drive in and out depending on day. Not sure what this place use to be, but parking lot and exterior looks very run down and needs to be redone. Plus side, there's a drive thru for pick up orders! read more

Had the 6 wings with soy garlic with my friend, fire. The crunch is insane and those wings are thick. Also had the Korean donut. Korean Fried Chicken is now something I'm gonna have to look more into. I was like "why is so much of their branding involving the crunch?" I found out why. We were happy to see this open up near our home here in Murfreesboro. We have been several since, and each time, we have been very happy with the food and the service. Pleasantly crispy chicken wings and sides, with your choice of 3 or so sauces. My favorite is the soy garlic, but the Korean BBQ is good, too, if you like some heat. There are several sides to choose from, including pot stickers, shrimp, pork or octopus dumplings, bulgogi fries and more. If there were a separate category for fast food restaurants, I would have given this five stars, but alas, without the gourmet chef and local ingredients, four stars is the best I can do. Please enjoy reading this extensive tome. I went back the next day and tried more dishes. Our local monthly news magazine mentioned that Bonchon was coming to a former restaurant near our home. Touting "Korean Fried Chicken", the article piqued my interest. It is a chain restaurant that was very popular in Korea but established a central office in Texas. For many weeks, I drove past the renovation site, hoping they would open soon. Voila! They opened this week. Anticipation built. Seeking the advice of a fellow foodie at work, I found out that she loved the chicken. More interest evolved in our household. Finally, a native Korean at our church praised their fare. Takoyaki, or fried octopus dumplings were the first choice of my Japophile adult son. They were on the menu, but not available. Our alternate choice of pot stickers was a good one. Last night were the vegetarian ones, and today I got the pork. Normally a carnivore, I enjoyed the blend of flavors in the vegetarian ones. Both were nicely grilled and not over cooked. Japchae is a glass noodle dish with beef and vegetables. This was also chosen by my son. He found it to be quite good, but cautioned that with any glass noodle dish, the noodles tend to clump together. Bulgogi Fries are what I consider "Korean Poutine". Poutine is a Canadian dish growing in popularity which consists of French Fries smothered in beef gravy and cheese curds. This Korean variety features marinated beef with mozzarella cheese. My wife ordered these and is a self-proclaimed French Fry and Poutine expert. She really enjoyed these and said that the fries were well seasoned and stood up nicely to the toppings. Pork Buns - As we are fans of the Food Network, we have seen some awesome buns. We have also been to some pretty poor variations of these buns at "international buffets". However, unlike the familiar dome shaped delectables, these were formed like a taco. They also have Korean Tacos that look similar and are different. The filling was great and tasty, and the bun portion was nice and light and fluffy. Fried Chicken was the main dish that drew my attention. Their website explained how Korean Fried Chicken is different. OK. I'll go. Besides, my coworker touted the dish. Yesterday and today, I got two different chicken cuts. I got drumsticks yesterday and wings today. Both were nice and crunchy with a light coating and the meat inside was tender and moist. On both orders, I got the special limited-edition sauce that was pleasantly spicy and sweet. The wings were perhaps the meatiest I have ever enjoyed. Kimchi is one of those dishes I gravitate to. Three standards for this condiment come to mind. One is an excellent Korean restaurant we love in Nashville. Second is a great variety of I found at a mega grocery store in the Cincinnati area. Finally, there is a small Korean market here in Murfreesboro that has homemade kimchi. It is good, but beware. My first bite chewed a nice, sweet piece of cabbage. When I swallowed, the hot pepper hit the back of my throat and OMG was it gagging hot. Raspberry Mochi was not available. A few years ago, we discovered Mexican Street Corn. Here they have a Korean version. While not creamy, it was delicious, but the corn had a covering that was a little stiff. Leftovers from the feast last night did not last until 10:00 that evening. As soon as everyone's dinner settled, the grazing began. Leftovers from today sit in the fridge and probably will not last long. Because it is a recently renovated store, it is clean, light, and airy. Staff tried very hard to make sure you were pleased. My wife went for dinner last night and found the place very busy but turn around time for her order was reasonable. I went after church today and it was not as busy, and my to-go order came up in about the same time as it takes my favorite sub shop to give me my Philly Cheesesteak. Prices are a tad high, but the quality and quantity are well worth it. After we go back and try other dishes, I will update this review. read more

We've been waiting on this spot to open for awhile now and it didn't disappoint! We ordered a bowl, wings (bone in and out), slaw, fried, pickled radish, and the steam buns. Pros: the crispiest wings you can find around the Boro! The garlic soy sauce has amazing flavor! I could survive in those steam buns with the pickled radish (try them even if you don't like radishes). The beef in the bowls is so tender and beautifully cooked. Friendly staff. Clean dining room. My first trip to Bonchon was a mixed review. Ordered the Bonchon K-meal for 4-6. The seasoned fries and fried rice were very small portions, and the fried rice was clumpy and not fresh. Tried this for the first time today. i was excited to have a sort of Korean restaurant in town. I spent a year in Korean and fell in love with the food. But this was a bit of a disappointment. I had the bulgogi, which was not bad, but was bland, with little actual bulgogi beef flavor. The mushrooms in it really added nothing. The kimchi (and I LOVE kimchi) was not bad, but it was not fresh. I reminded me of the kimchi I might forget about left in the back of the fridge for a couple of weeks. Now, the potstickers in the soy-garlic sauce were awesome. The were very different than what I was used to, but were very good. i will be back at least for these. I will probably try them again, maybe try something else (with the potstickers) but was a little let down overall. read more

This take-out is very expensive at $12.99 for lunch. You don't get much as far as meat/rice, etc. compared to other take-out/fast food restaurants. Clean and friendly staff, my wife and I ate inside, we shared Pork Potstickers to start with nice but nothing special, then my wife had House Fried Rice with Chicken, not very much chicken and not very much taste, I had the Bulgogi plenty of beef but lacking in flavor, we did finish with the Korean Donuts with the dipping sauce they were very nice.
