Aloha is right. We live in Franklin, but will make the drive as often as possible to get the taste of Hawaii whenever we are missing the island. They know what they're doing and make you feel like Ohana the moment you walk in.

This is my first visit to Aloha Express. To say the least, my experience was superb. The service was fast and friendly, despite the fact that they're training a new employee (and she did a great job). They have a wide selection of appetizers, entrées and drinks to choose from. I ordered the Aloha BBQ mix, the Spam Musubi and the crispy shrimp. The BBQ mix was amazing I had a nice sweet yet flavorful bite. The spam was delicious. The saltiness of the spam paired well with the sweetness of the rice. The shrimp had a nice crisp and it was very tasty in the Yum Yum sauce. The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and cute and had lots of Hawaiian decor. Had seating capacity for about 30 to 40 people. The entrées prices are a reasonable $13-$15 and the portions were definitely not skimpy.

Aloha Express Hawaiian BBQ is a fantastic new find on Old Fort Parkway. If you've been missing that authentic island vibe, this place hits the spot. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the food truly captures that Hawaiian comfort spirit--making it a standout "gem" that doesn't quite feel like your typical Middle Tennessee eatery. The Highlights: * Aloha BBQ Mix Combo: The portions here are incredibly generous. I had the combination with the BBQ chicken and beef (Kalbi style). The grilled chicken was a highlight--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Kalbi beef was also great, reg beef is tender but personally a bit on the salty side; however, once you eat it with the white rice, it balances out . * The Sides: The combo comes with the classic scoops of rice and a solid macaroni salad, along with some steamed veggies. It's exactly the kind of plate lunch that transports you back to Hawaii. * Grilled Salmon Salad: My wife opted for the salmon salad and was very impressed. It came with two generous pieces of well-cooked salmon and a large portion of fresh greens. * The Sauces: They offer a great variety of dipping options. Between the ranch, the sweet glaze, and the spicy mayo (yum sauce), there's a flavor profile for everyone. The Experience: The service was really friendly and the overall vibe is very pleasant. It's the kind of place that leaves you satisfied both in terms of quality and quantity. They also have some tempting sweet options and appetizers like Spam Musubi and Takoyaki that I haven't tried yet but definitely plan to on the next visit. The Verdict: I'm very pleased with this first visit. If you're looking for quality Hawaiian BBQ with big portions and fair prices, Aloha Express is a must-try. I'm definitely coming back to explore more of the menu!

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! It's got a pretty simple dining area, but the food was INCREDIBLE. The plate in the photo cost $14 and was easily enough for 2 meals. The food was all super flavorful...even the mac salad, which is often flavorless at many places. We're visiting from out of town and will likely return before we head home - it's a GREAT value, the service was quick and friendly, with the owner noticing we were getting ready to leave and bringing us a bag for our leftovers before we could even as. 10/10, definitely recommend! Wish we had one close to home!

Aloha Express Hawaiian BBQ definitely deserves more than five stars! Their food is delicious and their customer service is on point. I love the vibe of their restaurant, feels very authentic. I got the chicken katsu mini meal and it's definitely a big portion of food! Highly recommend it, the chicken was perfect and the scoop of rice and macaroni salad were the right size. My husband and I also shared the crab Rangoon and spam musubi. Honestly their food is priced very fairly for the good portion that you get! Highly recommend!

Okay, let me just say, the food is so good you'll be thinking about it all night long. We all got the same thing, the Aloha BBQ Mix and let me tell you, it was amazing. Now, if meat is an option, I'm not ordering chicken. Why? Because it feels wrong, that's why. Sacrilegious. Abomination. You get my point. But when I tasted this chicken. Oh my goodness, it was so good, I didn't realize it was chicken. Let me tell you, that chicken was amazing. AMAZING. The beef. AMAZING. Everything had salt and was seasoned. Thank you! The rice. AMAZING. I have one complaint. The Macaroni Salad was plain. I was expecting it to be a little sweet, but it wasn't so it threw me all the way off. I smothered it in the two sauces that came with it. That made it a lot better. Cause them sauces are... they good. They really good. Anyways, I'll be back cause that food was amazing. It was AMAZING. Don't change a thing! Except maybe they Macaroni Salad recipe, BUT NOTHING ELSE! NOTHING! IT IS AMAZING! Also, I hate cabbage, but that cabbage was good. Seriously, CHANGE NOTHING!

This place is great and everyone needs to know about it! I've only been a couple times so far but everything I've had has been awesome. Had the fish and shrimp combo and the BBQ mix, and both were fresh and delicious! Flavorful and cooked to perfection, couldn't have asked for better. Combos come with rice and macaroni salad which were great compliments on both platters. Portions are huge so you'll have plenty for a second meal. Staff were very nice, frequently walking around checking on people to see if anyone needed anything. Store is a little small but most people seemed to pick up and go so there were no problems getting a table. This will be a place I'll be frequenting for sure.

The food is absolutely amazing and has so much flavor. We tried it for the first time today, definitely going back! Super sweet staff and the owner is the sweetest. Everything was fresh and delicious we tried a lot of different dishes and they were all sooo good. Please give this place a try!

I'm a big fan of Hawaiian BBQ and this hit the spot tonight. The spare ribs will always be my favorite alongside Mac salad. There is something to be said for Hawaiian food when the food is good and service is great. It's not a big establishment, but they were super friendly and it was very clean. It was a popular place for a Saturday night too. The food was delicious and everything was priced fairly.

I used to live in Hawaii and this is as legit as it gets! The restaurant is small inside but has plenty of seating. The ambiance is pure Aloha. The servers are attentive and do a great job of getting you authentic food as quickly as possible always providing plenty of delicious sauces. The food is simply awesome. The Spam musubi is a must if you love traditional island food. The shrimp, fried rice, and mac salad are all amazing. Also, they give you a tremendous amount of food for your money.

Aloha Express is a great place for a great lunch. We thought we would give it a try and we were very pleased. Very efficient order taking, reasonable prep time, and delivery to the table. The fresh ingredients and the kitchen produced a tasty lunch with generous portions. Clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated dining room made for a relaxing lunch.

Staff were so incredibly nice and helpful! The food was flavorful and came out so fast!!! The portion sizes are huge, over all we will be back. Just bring a jacket because the inside is freezing!!!

While in Nashville, I visited three of them (as far as I can tell, there are only three in the city). The Pearl Diver is far and away the best tiki bar in Nashville. The drinks are excellent, with both classics and unique creations on the menu. The service is quick and friendly. I couldn't believe how fast the bartender could crank out quality tiki drinks! She knows what she's doing. The food is tasty, with a fun Asian/Latin American fusion that fits the theming. Perhaps most importantly to me, the atmosphere was on point. I go to a tiki bar to relax and escape the busyness of a big city. For that reason, they should be laid-back, tropical, and festively decorated. This place checks all the boxes!

We had hoped this visit would be different. We entered and stood at the front host stand for approximately 2-3 minutes with no host present. Unsure how seating worked, I walked to the bar to ask for assistance and was immediately yelled at by the bartender for my ID. As I retrieved it from my wallet, the bartender walked away. While I was still holding my ID out, a second bartender asked what I needed. I asked if there was a host, and was told "no." When I responded asking how seating worked, I was told to "find a seat." At that time, all visible seats were full. I walked back to the entrance to explain the situation to my wife. We re-entered and asked a group who were occupying only half of a larger seating area whether the remaining space was available. Their response was that they believed others were coming later. I then attempted to walk past the bar to see if there might be additional seating in the back, and was again yelled at by the bartender demanding my ID -- despite having just presented it moments earlier. The lack of organization, combined with repeated confrontational interactions from staff, made what should have been a pleasant evening uncomfortable and unwelcoming -- particularly disappointing given that this was our third effort to give the establishment another chance.

For anyone who doesn't know, poke is a Hawaiian-inspired dish made with fresh sushi-grade fish, rice, veggies, sauces, and toppings all mixed into these super flavorful and satisfying bowls. And let me tell you, these bowls were EXACTLY what we needed after leaving another restaurant still hungry and annoyed. The service here was immediately better. We were greeted nicely, our food came out super fast, and the whole experience just felt easy and stress-free. The bowls were fresh, filling, flavorful, and honestly so comforting after the chaos downstairs. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and everything tasted really balanced and delicious. My boyfriend also ordered the gyozas and for a fast casual spot they were surprisingly really good too -- crispy, hot, flavorful, and the perfect side to the bowls. Honestly, if you're around Fifth + Broadway and want something quick, tasty, and actually worth your money, skip the frustration downstairs and just go upstairs to the food hall. Sometimes the "quick food" ends up giving you a way better experience than the full-service restaurant below it.
