Sweet and Sour Chicken, Vegetables Lo Mein Noodlesvegetable
    Tommy B.

Great Chinese food! I called to order ahead and it was done by the time I got there about 15 minutes later. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and vegetable lo mein which ended up being around $30. Price is a little high for me but the taste is worth it. Portion size for lo mein was great! Lots of noodles and a good variety of vegetables! More than 2 pieces of broccoli that I feel come standard at other places. I would've liked water chestnuts in the lo mein a little more sweet n sour chicken but overall I am still happy with it because they served it with peppers onions and pineapple which is always a nice treat. In my opinion they have the best sweet n sour sauce out of all the Chinese restaurants I've had in Nashville as well. Will return because of the sweet and sour chicken.

The atmosphere isn't showy or fancy but we loved the food - had the Mexiburrito with chicken - absolutely stuffed with fresh perfectly cooked peppers. The side salad had fresh herbs (cilantro?) which I appreciate. Service friendly, is counter service, casual.

I ate there and the food was very delicious with a huge portion. Service and staff were excellent and a nice ambiance. I made a video about it. Search for "Hidden Gems: MexiChina in La Vergne, TN"

Came in here as I was doing Uber eats one night. The place seemed interesting so I made an effort to come back and try it. I'm glad I did. I find the idea so interesting and wonderful at the same time. The place smelled like a Chinese restaurant but they had Mexican! What a concept. I opted for the Carne Asada Plate. The dish came out and I was encouraged to visit the salsa bar. The corn tortillas were soft and pillowy and seemed like they were home made - or at least locally made. They were large size too, Very good. The rice was actually very good too. Nice flavor. The beans were cooked and were not of the re-fried type but just regular pinto beans. I was very pleased with my choice and can't wait to return to try the other offerings. I feel like I want to try it all. The Chinese dishes and everything.

Omg! This is amazing. Mexican + Chinese. I met the owner during my visit. Extremely friendly. I will be back. I highly recommend everyone to bookmark this sweet gem.

I passed this place, yes because of the sign. It was def. a eye catcher and I had to try it for myself. I came in around 8pm.What you see is what you get! The signs says what they serve! You can choose a Mexican dish or a Chinese dish. So what did I do? I started with appetizer with fried pot stickers or known as fried dumplings with fried pork inside. My fav! It came with 6 pieces and dipping sauce. Came out perfect temp and timely manner. The kind where if it came out too fast, meant it was already heated and prob been sitting for a long time. But not so late that you were wondering what is taking so long? It came out with outer shell tasting soft and crispy and pork inside was flavorful. Next I had ordered my main dish which I've never ordered at a Mexican place. (see pic below) They call it Taco Anogados. strips of chicken with fried rolled shell. Bathed in a broth with shredded cabbage, cilantro, sour cream, cheese, tomatoes. What caught my attention when I was eating was, they have a SALSA BAR. Any place that has a salsa bar becomes automatic favorite place. So course I got some green sauce to pile on top of my dinner dish. Everything tasted fresh. It too came out in a timely matter which was cooked to order. Most Mexican places can taste, bland, reheated, sitting out in a pan. For being a Sunday and close to closing, they did not serve me the days left overs. They cooked it when I ordered it and I appreciated that since it was a long day of work. Service was outstanding by the hostess assuming is the wife? You can tell it's family since I saw the mom help wiping down and cleaning. As soon as I was paying, the owner I believe is Daniel, (says on his card Kitchen Manager) talked to me through the kitchen window asking how my food was. Course I was happy and full. Very friendly place! This looks like a family oriented place. Lots of tables and booths. Open room. They do take Square for credit cards or course pay with cash. Don't know yet since it was late and close to closing if they serve alcohol but they def. have coke products and other juice or carbonated drinks like Jarritos. Now if you follow me and see my ratings are usually under 5 and rarely I give 5, its because I like to try a place more than once. You have to be outstanding to food and service and other things for you to get a 5. But it can be changed. If you go first time it can be great but another time it can be terrible. I'm not saying this will be the case, but I like to try a place more than once. So for now I give 4stars and will be back to try the lunch time or bring a friend to try a different dish. So far being the first to give review, had a great experience and I will be back! Support local businesses and this def. is one.

My food has been delicious each time I've been here. They are friendly as well, and very fast. The Horchata is FIRE, the best I've had from a restaurant. Very clean. Great atmosphere. Love it.

If I could give this place less than one star, I would. Absolutely disgusting. The food had no flavor or was over salted.

Also on the list was Los Agaveros, however, I looked and saw the Yelp rating (via Apple Maps) and opted for Rancho Cantina. I am so glad I followed Yelp's recommendation. I visited on a Monday evening and it wasn't too busy. They had wonderful mariachi playing and a big screen at the bar of the performance. I was told to sit wherever I wanted. I was given chips and salsa and a menu. The menu was huge. Lots of pages. So much to choose from, it looks like they serve it all. I went in expecting tex Mex but was pleasantly surprised. I got the Pechuga a la Plancha con Chorizo. It was down to either that or the Carne Asada. Since I always get carne adana I chose the Pechuga a la Plancha con Chorizo. I got Rice and beans, and corn tortillas. It came out very quickly. On a plate that was similar to fajitas. Sizzling and steamy. The smells coming off were amazing. The tortillas were home made and not store bought. The food was very good. The chicken was soft and cooked perfectly. The flavor was very good and I completely cleaned my plate. I will definitely return here. LaVergne is 2-0 on Mexican places now. Mexichina is very close by as well. I am well pleased.

However, my most recent visit completely changed my opinion. One day, one of the servers added a tip to my bill without my permission. I only discovered this after receiving a notification from my debit card showing that the original amount had been updated to include a tip. I was immediately caught off guard, especially since I did not dine in--I went through the drive-thru. I waited for the restaurant to open so I could call and address the issue, as adding a tip without authorization felt like theft to me. When I called and asked to speak with a manager, the hostess or one of the waitresses hung up on me. I called back and could hear them laughing. I again asked to speak with a manager, and once again they laughed and hung up on me. I called the store several more times, and eventually one employee told me to call back between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m., then hung up on me again. When I finally spoke with a manager at the time I was given, she listened to my concerns and informed me that she would refund my entire order and speak with the employee who added the unauthorized tip. While I appreciate the refund, the way I was treated throughout this situation was extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I was a loyal customer, and this experience made me feel taken advantage of. Thankfully, I have alerts set up on my debit card to notify me of any updates to purchases. It makes me wonder how many other customers may not notice unauthorized changes to their bills. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this restaurant, and I will be sharing my experience with others.

At this time of day, it's quiet, and attention is paid to the few tables in here. The service was quick, and the server was friendly enough. The food is cooked perfectly for me. The meat is tender, and the veggies still have a little crunch. The only fopa was asked for no rice(I don't eat rice), and I did mention it to the server. I did receive it on my plate, but it was quickly taken back and made correctly with a lot of apologies. For dinner, I ordered a few chicken and chorizo tacos. The chorizo was good, but the grilled chicken was so bland. I tasted the tortillas and onion more than the chicken. Extremely underwhelming.
