    Cashew chicken with lo mein

The customer service is 10/10, the owner is super sweet and they're very hardworking. We've had the Mongolian beef, spring rolls, egg rolls, cashew chicken, curry chicken, lo mein and fried rice and it's all VERY good!

Me, eating the Chicken with Mixed Vegetables.

I ordered a Chicken with Mixed Vegetables, and it was very good and also not expensive. Highly recommendable. Very friendly young family who owns that restaurant. I also made a video about it. Search for "German tries Small Local Chinese Restaurant" or go to the YouTube channel "The Bald German Goes Eating".

Chinese food is my favorite and I try to eat at as many Chinese restaurants as I can. This restaurant may be small as a venue, but it is grand in taste and service. I ordered my favorite: Sweet and sour chicken. I asked for them to be cooked without veggies and that's how I received them. I chose pork fried rice along with that and that too came without veggies, just how I love it. The rice tasted good and was a good combination with my chicken. There are no refill fountains here, so to drink, you can either have a 12 oz can of soda or a 20 oz. I had a diet doctor pepper and the whole meal was satisfying enough to warrant it a return. My wife ordered a shrimp and chicken combo. She really enjoyed it, covered in veggies. She had the white rice with it and didn't finish the plate.

"Technically fried rice" but really .... the worst rice I've had yet

Egg rolls were great. Beef egg foo young was very good but the gravy needed salt or something more.

The inside goes beyond your typical neighborhood Chinese spot, with grand décor that sets the mood. The staff is always friendly and even brings out complimentary kimchi and peanuts to start. Their combo prices are incredibly fair (around $20), and each one comes loaded with fresh veggies, ramen noodles, and fish balls. The sauce bar is next level too, with fresh cilantro and green onion, sesame sauce, and chili oil, all ready to be mixed to your taste. Whenever soup season hits (and it's coming up), I instantly start craving their spicy hot pot beef combo!!

The…read morebase of vegetable broth mixed with coconut milk was creamy yet not heavy (with a blend of yellow and red curry spices, according to the menu -- sadly I am not that well versed in curries!). The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.

The hardest part about eating at Degthai is beelining to the Tiew Gang Vegan. (BTW, I am not Vegan, yet I LOVE the Tiew Gang Vegan.) They do everything well - the other curries, the standard noodle dishes, the dumplings - and it can be tempting to just go with your regular go-to dish like Pad Thai w/Chicken (BORRRINGG, but they do it well nonetheless.) You've gotta try the Tiew Gang Vegan. It's truly a once-in-a-year of eating out experience finding a dish this incredible. It competes pound-for-pound in the same heavy hitter weight class as the best Pho, Ramen, Jjamppong, or Beef Noodle Soup you've ever had. I've now been to Degthai 10 times, and have gotten the Tiew Gang Vegan the last 5 times in a row.

Chinese takeout isn't as popular as it once was, but every now and then I'll feel nostalgic for those days when Chinese buffets were abundant. Since I was meeting my hockey team for brews in the early afternoon, I didn't want to drink on an empty stomach. I wanted something tasty but fast (but not fast food). This place is just as I remember it. Like all Chinese takeout restaurants, you had faded pictures of Chinese food from decades ago, a paper menu, makeshift storage in the dining area, etc. Complete with the man and husband bickering in the kitchen and the kids there working the front, taking your order. I had to chuckle because it was like I went through a time warp and it's funny to see things never change (being Asian, I too had to work at my dad's store as a kid). I ordered my go-to every time I come to a place like this. Hot and sour soup and General Tso's chicken. The food was as it always was, consistent and delicious. The hot and sour soup was warm, slightly spicy, and not too sour. It had a nice balance of soup and vegetables/tofu. The General Tso's was piping hot, crispy without too much breading and slathered in that tangy, sweet sauce. The fried rice was good too, actually with bits of veggies and meat (although I don't know what the meat is). It definitely hit the spot and it's not always that I go to places like these. But nevertheless, the mind (and stomach) craves what it craves and I'm glad I got to pay this establishment a visit again.
