Pad see ew with chicken
Erin J.

This is a cafe inside of the King Market grocery store. I went at 1pm during the week and there was a wait, but they were working hard to get tables cleaned and everyone seated as quickly as they could! The staff is kind. The menu is pretty big but there are photos and descriptions to help you decide. I went with pad see ew with chicken and an order or egg rolls. They ended up coming out together. The egg rolls were tasty; the pad see ew was just okay. I was a bit disappointed in the taste, as it was bland. However I'll definitely be back to try more dishes and support this small business!

Visited October 01, 2024. King Market is a longstanding Laotian/Thai fusion spot in Antioch, offering both a restaurant and a market with fresh produce and various goods. While recent ownership changes have led to some price increases, the food remains a highlight. The crab rangoons are a must-try, and the appetizers alone can make do for a great meal, though there can be some inconsistency in dryness. Overall, it's a great place to experience flavorful dishes! The service at King Market is generally okay, but the staff is friendly and welcoming, which adds to the experience. Ambiance is low key but plenty of seating for groups of all sizes!

Everyone is so friendly and food is pretty darn good- I got the pork belly soup and it's bomb! Hubby got the phone and OMG biggest pho and more noodles then any more 3x its price

Hole in the wall restaurant that has to be some of the best Thai food in Nashville! Plenty of parking, plenty of seating, and the service is very fast! The pad Thai was sooo yummy and saucy!!!

Absolute hole in the wall. But trust me , it's amazing, authentic, and full of flavor. The service was great , she instructed us on heat levels so our mouths were only burning for 30 minutes instead of the whole meal and the next day.

This review is for the food sold in the store. They got premade food all along the wall. We grabbed so much stuff but then it was raining and the power went put and I only had $50 cash on me so we had to put everything back and just get $50 worth of food :( It's ok tho cuz we still had food from Chicago in the car. But yea we stopped by here otw home to ATL cuz this is a must for me!!! I've been coming here for years! Everybody says the restaurant ain't the same and thats ok cuz the food along the wall was perfectly fine for us! We just ordered sticky rice from the restaurant to eat w everything else we bought but oh how we wish the electricity was on cuz we sure did have a cart full of food in the buggy!! Oh well, next time and as always... A MUST STOP! Kop Jai derr

I was very impressed with the King Market's eatery. The Lao Thai Cafe is nestled in the back of the market and it's a gem. The server takes your order on a tablet and their entire process is quick and efficient. I always enjoy menus with pictures and there was a vast selection of choices. My iced coffee was very good and the coconut was refreshing and full of pulp. The peanut sauce that accompanied the vegetable appetizer was savory and made every bite enjoyable. Every entree was delicious and the spiciness was at the precise level that we selected. Aside from the Lao Thai Cafe, you will have a full blown market to choose every Thai item imaginable. I highly recommend King Market. Here, you will be able to shop and eat with enjoyable experiences and affordable prices.

Pad See Ew

Any time I am in the area, I stop here and get Pad see Ew. Any time I am craving Pad see ew near me, this is the first place I think about. The food here is soo good and tastes the same EVERY time. The service is quick and it really gives off cafe vibes which is my favorite type of restaurants.

We were visiting Nashville and were craving Thai/laos food. A friend found this place and we had to try it out. They did not disappoint. The service was great and the food was amazing! Just what we needed. Definitely will be back when we're in town

The food was absolutely terrible! Costed us 60$ the food was bland and so greasy we ended up throwing it all out! So not worth it! Stay away. If we didn't get take out I would have just gotten up without paying! I feel genially sick from this food.

I still like coming here to get my authentic Laos/thai foodies fix here. Plus you can shop in the market while at it. Restaurant stays busy. So no matter of the days of the week it's busy. You can always opt to take TO GO.

Amazing spot hidden inside a grocery store! If you are ever craving some legit Thai food, def check this place out!! I've been here multiple times and no matter what I get, the food is always delicious! I've tried their pad Thai, pad see ew, lad nah, mee krob, and pho(yes they have Viet dishes too). I think my favorite would have to be the lad nah. The noodles always come out with the perfect wok hei flavor and the gravy on top is never too salty and just reminds me of a home cooked meal. Can't go wrong with their pad thai as well which my husband absolutely loves! Prices are affordable at around $10 a dish and I usually have leftovers. Definitely recommend also checking out their groceries as they carry a lot of fresh Asian produce options. Not as many options as K&S but if you're already there, it saves a trip!

The…read morebase of vegetable broth mixed with coconut milk was creamy yet not heavy (with a blend of yellow and red curry spices, according to the menu -- sadly I am not that well versed in curries!). The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.

The hardest part about eating at Degthai is beelining to the Tiew Gang Vegan. (BTW, I am not Vegan, yet I LOVE the Tiew Gang Vegan.) They do everything well - the other curries, the standard noodle dishes, the dumplings - and it can be tempting to just go with your regular go-to dish like Pad Thai w/Chicken (BORRRINGG, but they do it well nonetheless.) You've gotta try the Tiew Gang Vegan. It's truly a once-in-a-year of eating out experience finding a dish this incredible. It competes pound-for-pound in the same heavy hitter weight class as the best Pho, Ramen, Jjamppong, or Beef Noodle Soup you've ever had. I've now been to Degthai 10 times, and have gotten the Tiew Gang Vegan the last 5 times in a row.

I'm not saying it as good as my mamas cooking but it's almost as good if I'm looking for something that's hard to make hard to find that you may have seen at some party you went to this is the place to stop at. The food was good as usual. Service was great. They're helpful and attentive and as quick as they can be. I would recommend that you go in and take a visit and try some real food. The restaurant is a little out-of-the-way a little inconspicuous looking but well worth searching and finding your way there. If you want to try as close as you can get to eating at my mom's house go there and try it out and give them a chance. The food is good. The price is reasonable. You won't regret it. It's a small place but I think with advance notice they can accommodate large parties. Before I leave this review- this has to be the best Thai Tea I've had in many years. About 30 min outside of Nashville city center but totally worth the trip! Family owned and operated for over a decade+, they have a strong local following so it was nice to see a packed house of repeat customers despite the icey cold weather! They had been closed for a few days due to really harsh winter weather conditions so I was so happy to see them open this day! Ordered a bit of everything since my stomach could not decide on just one thing as everything on their menu all sounded so appetizing! Ordered the fried appetizer sampler, I was solo dining but this was definitely enough for 2-4 ppl to share. Wasn't in the mood for noodles but ordered a bowl of just the pho broth. The broth was very rich, a tad too salty and a bit too much cinnamon for my taste but it still warmed me right up! For lunch the pork laap salad with a side of sticky rice at a level 5 spicy was just pure perfection. The balance of flavors was spot on and the kick of heat from the spice level really took it to a notch! Also ordered their whole fried fish of the day and it was beautiful crispy on the outside and tender white flesh on the inside. I will for sure be back here to try their other dishes when I'm back down in the Nashville area for work!

The sashimi portions were unusually thin and oddly shaped--some pieces looked more like narrow strips than the generous cuts you'd expect. It gave me the impression that the fish was sliced as thinly as possible to create more pieces. The fish tasted okay, but the portion sizes simply didn't justify the price. The presentation was also underwhelming. There was no garnish or attention to detail, making the platter look very basic for what we paid. The piece by the fork for reference, maybe because it's a Friday night, last run? And they just scraped whatever left and gave it to us? We also ordered the pho, and unfortunately it wasn't much to write home about either. The noodles weren't fully cooked. Maybe I should have just ordered the Thai dishes, but if you're going to offer sushi on the menu, it should be held to the same standard. Customers shouldn't have to guess which parts of the menu are worth ordering. Overall, I don't mind paying premium prices for quality food, but I do expect the quality, portions, and presentation to match the price. Unfortunately, this experience didn't deliver. The photos speak for themselves.
