This little hole in the wall is kinda hidden. As you drive you have to really keep an eye open. While, small it's cozy with super friendly service. I ordered the fried egg-rolls and shrimp fresh rolls "Thai-zers" for dine-in and a Gang Jued soup to-go for later. The egg-rolls were nice and hot and the fresh rolls were deliciously crisp and fresh. Before heading out I had a little taste of the Gang Jued and it was spot on. Just had to add a little Thai chili to spice it a tad. They no longer have chicken satay on the menu. Might have to see if they can still prepare it next visit. Overall, great experience and delicious food. read more

Food was delicious! It was our first time here and service was friendly and welcoming.

I've hesitated to review this place because they are my secret local spot. However, I want them to shine and great success because I love them so much. Their pho is very delicious. It's a perfect meal when it starts to get chilly. Their spring rolls are also a must get. Whatever the dipping sauce is, I need for everything. Sweet and spicy. Perfect. read more

Terrific, fresh, and authentic Thai served with lightning speed by the friendliest folks to a warm and diverse room. The world is coming to Tennessee and our tummies are the happier for it! read more

If I lived near here, this would be in my dining out rotation! Small, but clean dining room. Nice size menu with a good variety. We ordered the eggrolls- which I probably would skip now bc the small soup I ordered was HUGE and Delicious! We split the coconut curry, chicken--- wow, it was so flavorful! There wasn't a lot of chicken, but the broth and veggies were soooo good I didn't care lol. Service was made to order, so sit and visit a bit. The staff was attentive and helpful. I was NOT expecting such a great experience, but thank you Lil Thai Cafe read more

I wish we had Thai food this good in Nashville. Clean, great service and friendly staff. The crab Rangoon is world class.

Had an excellent meal with my cousin tonight at Lil Thai Cafe in LaVergne. The food and service were both top notch. Definitely one of the best Thai/Lao restaurants in Middle Tennessee!!! It's great to see the doors open and being allowed to dine in again after all of this COVID19 garbage. If you like great Thai/Lao food, please go in or order to go and support this great little restaurant! read more

Not the best Thai. But not bad. Wouldn't go again. But just cause Nashville has better Thai restaurants. They do make boba in house. So that's cool. read more

I visited Lil Thai Cafe on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 around noon. After checking out the highly raved Yelp reviews and having it shown on my list of suggested places, I thought it was time for a first visit. My first impression of this cafe was that it certainly lives up to the name: a small dining area with a limited number of tables, and a limited menu compared to an actual Thai restaurant. However, I think this cafe offers most, if not, all of the authentic Thai classic dishes. The papaya salad looked really dark, which was a strong indication that the papaya had too much crab paste. After tasting it, I was disappointed by how fishy it tasted. The papaya salad had severe seasoning issues as it needed citrus from the lime juice to cut the saltiness of the crab paste. I could not take more than a few bites without taking a sip of my water. The salt and pepper squid was fried nicely, but was a little bland and needed more seasoning. The pad Thai was underwhelming as it was too saucy and wet, like a tomato sauce. The noodles are supposed to be coated with the sauce, but not drenched in it. It also tasted bland and lacked the umami flavor that a proper pad Thai should have. Overall, the food was dissatisfying and certainly had significant margins for improvement. Despite being a cafe, the service was okay - friendly, but not as attentive as the server was busy striking conversations with a patron. I am very surprised my experience didn't match the highly raved Yelp reviews. Based on the food alone, I will not be returning to this cafe. I believe there are many other Thai restaurants that serve higher quality Thai food. read more

It might be a small hole in the wall but the food is fabulous. I had the Pad Thai and it is very good. We also had the Spicy papaya salad at a level three spice and it was very spicy but still excellent. We just said next time we will get a two. Nice people that really were attentive and wanted to know how we liked it. We will be back!!! I would say this is the best Thai in the Nashville area. read more

Excellent little gem out in La Vergne. Stopped in after needing to pick up a furniture item at a Crate and Barrel warehouse. One of the best Tom Yum soups I've had in a long time. This was a convenient location right off of the interstate on the way to Nashville. We called ahead so that we could swing by and grab a quick take out. The soups were awesome! Would have loved to stay and try everything! The soups were fresh and authentic! I had never tried Gang Jued before and was hoping it wasn't too bland. Not disappointed it was packed with flavor. The coconut soup had fresh lemongrass and galangal root. This place will not disappoint! Try it! A gem!! Also friendly service and clean environment! read more

SO happy to have a great Thai/Lao restaurant so close to home. My boys love eating Asian food - anything with rice or noodles. So, its nice on long work days to be able to just swing by and pick up dinner. A few weekends ago, we actually went to dine in. We ordered fried shrimp to share, I had Pad Kee Mao chicken, and my husband had their Pad Kadna Moo Krob(Crispy pork belly with sautéed Chinese broccoli). All of the dishes were flavorful, cooked properly, and plentiful! The noodles had a bite that I love, and not too soft. If I had to complain, it would be that it was not spicy enough; however, there was a spice rack so I was able to adjust to my liking. They also have Bubble tea - get the taro - its my favorite! Service was great and the prices are extremely fair! If you like to venture to restaurants such as King Market, you'll definitely like Lil Thai Cafe. read more

This place is literally down the street from my house. I've been meaning to stop by for a while and finally did yesterday. Ordered the drunken noodles (Level 4), beef and meatball pho, kao piek chicken, and papaya salad (Level 5). Everything I ordered had really good flavor. Prices were decent and service was on point. Excellent Lao and Thai food prepared with care by members of the Lao community in Rutherford county. Great place for a quick but interesting lunch with a variety of Lao, Thai , Vietnamese, and Chinese dishes . Excellent service and good location 1 minute off of I-24 at Waldron road , exit 64 in lavergne TN . Prices are more than reasonable and food is quite authentic. Not the fanciest Asian restaurant but clean and convenient. Will definitely be back with friends and neighbors that appreciate high quality food and interesting, creative cooking .
