China Spring is my new go-to for quick serve, tasty, bountiful and well priced Chinese food! China Spring is located in the Kroger shopping plaza on Highway 100 and like most Mom and Pop Chinese spots, there is not a whole lot to it. They are still not allowing dine-in, but you can walk-in and wait inside for your order. They do a lot of call-in and online orders, but I happened to get a craving for Sesame Chicken right as I was walking into Kroger, so I popped over, ordered and then went to do my shopping while they prepared it. I was in Kroger for about 15 - 20 minutes and by the time I popped back in to China Spring, they had me all ready to go! In addition to being impressed by the service, the food was solid as well! I ordered Sesame Chicken with Fried Rice and a Wonton Soup. The Wonton Soup was great. The broth was nice and light, but still flavorful and it was packed with wontons! I do wish they gave you more crispies with it, but I will know to ask next time! The sesame chicken was excellent and bountiful! They do not waste your time with a bunch of broccoli filler on the plate, you get 99% chicken, which no one is complaining about! The chicken was covered in that sweet sauce, but still held its crispiness. The rice, which yellow and I am still getting used to that since moving to Nashville, was packed in a container and equally delicious! Overall, massively impressed with China Spring and will certainly be back...and back and back again!

During Covid China Spring is offering take out! You can call and order in or stop in. Mask are required, and a plastic curtain separates you and the counter for extra barriers. Now for the fun part! I stopped her randomly after a workout class in the area. I was craving orange chicken and China Spring did not disappoint! The texture of the chicken is perfect with pieces big enough that you still taste the chicken and coating but small enough to fit in a fork without cutting. The sauce is crazy flavorful! I also got veggie lo mien, which are first was good but not great and then I let it sit overnight and reheated some and those flavors really came out even more (better as leftovers is always good in my book). The woman working at the front was very kind, and the order was ready in about 10 minutes. This is the best Chinese food I've had in Nashville!

It was an interesting restaurant as we walked in. The decor didn't come across as Chinese. I'm glad my daughter was familiar with the place because I would not have known to go to the back counter to order. I tried asking a couple things about the menu but could not understand the worker that well. It seemed that he couldn't understand me either because he initially put in the wrong orders -- my daughter caught it before we paid. Very reasonable prices. I ordered the Roast Duck Noodles with the Marinated Egg added. My daughter got her usual "Build a Bowl" of Chong Qing Broth, Sliced Noodles, Steak and Fried Egg. I thought I had ordered a Shrimp Wonton appetizer, but a bowl of soup arrived. After asking the worker about it, he just kept saying it was soup (I know), so I just left that alone. Overall quite delicious -- very authentic Chinese flavors. Excellent house made noodles. The depth of flavor in the broths was fantastic. The proteins were seasoned nicely and cooked well. The bok choy in my soup still had a nice bite. The fried egg was crispy on the edges and perfectly runny in the middle. Unfortunately, I found the marinated egg too salty. Service was minimal -- after ordering, the food comes out and that's it. If you need something, you have to get up to ask. No one checks in. The area wasn't busy when we arrived, so parking was very easy right in front. I'm told it does get tough during peak times. I would definitely return for the food, not the service.

Their combo prices are incredibly fair (around $20), and each one comes loaded with fresh veggies, ramen noodles, and fish balls. The sauce bar is next level too, with fresh cilantro and green onion, sesame sauce, and chili oil, all ready to be mixed to your taste. I'd definitely recommend dining in - we went in on a rainy Thursday around 6 and it was already packed, but a table for two opened within about five minutes. Service is great and food hits the table quickly. We started with the fresh rolls, chicken and cabbage dumplings, and the tom kha. We added a side of peanut sauce, which was a game changer for the fresh rolls. The tom kha was a little tart for my taste, but was loaded with veggies that were cooked perfectly. The dumplings were super tender, and the fresh rolls are my favorite in town! For entrees, we got the pad thai and pad see-ew with rice noodles. Both absolutely delish, and we loved how the pad see-ew was prepared simply and traditionally with Chinese broccoli. Those portions are not to be reckoned with... we ended up taking two boxes full of noodles home! Their sticky rice with mango was our favorite bite of the night. The rice was the PERFECT texture, in a not-too-sweet sauce, topped with toasted coconut, and the juiciest, sweetest mango. What a treat.

I ordered their tom kha soup as an appetizer. The broth was good, but the vegetables in it were not cooked at all. It felt like eating a crunchy salad in your soup. Only a minute after ordering the soup we were asked to go ahead and order our main dishes. My pad thai was good, but there was nothing particularly special about it. I had just started eating my food when the server asked us if we wanted to-go boxes and how we were splitting the check. I looked at my phone, and it had only been 30 minutes since we had sat down that we were handed the check. I would have tried their dessert if I hadn't felt rushed out the door. Also, the restaurant wasn't busy/didn't have a wait on tables, so I'm not sure why they rushed us out.
