Inside and out of China Wok have seen better days, but honestly this is the "seasoning" of a local spot like this that makes it better than a fancier spot. So, give me a little wear and tear with my lo mein! We have done take out, but normally do delivery. Our go-to's here, and at most Chinese places, are sesame chicken with fried rice, house lo mein and wonton soup. The food is always hot, fresh and tasty...as expected honestly. Pricing is standard for Chinese take out, however things get pricey with online orders and delivery, so be prepared to pay for the convenience. Service is always efficient and to the point, which is perfectly fine as they want to keep things moving and I want to eat! Overall, love having China Wok in the area. Excellent Chinese takeout spot. The number one thing that I love about them is they are very fast. Also, the food taste great! I recently ordered from them through DoorDash because they had to buy one get one free special. I was able to get two sesame chicken meals for a total of $15 Which is pretty great! The workers were very nice and efficient when I came to pick up my order and their menu is very large, which is really good because it's nice to be able to try new things. The only reason I gave it four stars is for the actual cleanliness of the restaurant. I'm not sure what the health inspector score is for this specific location, but I'm interested to see. Horrible experience. The guy taking my Order was extremely rude. Young Mexican fat man. I talked to him in Spanish and he understood everything I was saying but got upset and said he didn't spoke or understood Spanish. So I started to talk to him in English. Asked him what he would recommend, and he rudely said "I wouldn't recommend anything here". I asked him if he ate any of the food he was serving. He rudely said with a face of disgust that he didn't eat any of the food being served at this location. So if the cooks don't eat at the place they work at, in all my restaurant experience, means that they work in a filthy kitchen. Didn't Order anything and walked out. Easily the best Chinese food in Nashville! Their food is always piping hot upon delivery and the orders are 100% accurate. Standouts on the menu are the Singapore Mei Fun, chicken and vegetables (their brown sauce is savory perfection) and Dragon & Phoenix. The only menu item that needs a little work are their egg rolls- the filling tends to be soggy, in my opinion, even when they're fresh. Overall, China Wok is a 10/10 for our family! read more

As far as simple Chinese takeout goes, I think China Wok is very solid. Fried rice wasn't dry at all, although it may have been on the saltier side. The boneless spare ribs were really delicious, especially if you like them with extra sauce. The General Tso Chicken had a good flavor, although I wish it was a little on the crunchier side. All-in-all though, as long as you keep your expectations in-check (I.e. this is Chinese takeout, not some gourmet food experience), i think you'll enjoy it. read more

Hey there yelpers! So while I didn't actually eat on site at this restaurant I did order delivery to my place. First of all, the website was pretty easy to use and it didn't require you to make an account to place an order and could just checkout as a guest. The minimum ordering fee, at the time of this review, is $15 and when I had to feed three people, it was well within my time frame. Second, the speed it was crafted and delivered was well within the 1hr. time frame they said it would take. It actually took about 30mins. While I was not the one that accepted the order from the delivery person, the person that did said the delivery man was very nice, as nice as a delivery driver can be I suppose given their quick, minimal interaction job. Third, the food was excellent and for those that are health conscious I did not detect a hint of MSG in the food, even though I think that's a large part of flavouring to me. I know it's weird, eh? This spot was great for easy pick up on the way home. The food is pretty good, standard Chinese. There isn't much variety to the menu. And I do wish they included more veggies in their items. The dumpling soup and egg drop soup had no veggies - just broth and dumplings/egg. The food does come out quick, and it tastes fresh. We've ordered here twice now, and both times the orders were exactly what we asked for. Service is great as well. I've never had anything bad from here, so 5 stars is well deserved. It's always hot and ready in the amount of time that they say it will be ready. I usually call in and pick it up. So in that case, accuracy is important. I believe I live just outside of their range for delivery, but I don't mind since it doesn't take me long to get there. Everything I've had from here is awesome but my favorites are the shrimp lo mein (I always tell them to make it spicy), broccoli in either the garlic or brown sauce, and the shrimp and broccoli. I recently tried the hot and spicy shrimp dish and the flavor was really good but the ratio of the vegetables to shrimp was way off. There wasn't enough shrimp in it for me but that's my only small complaint. I will continue to give them my business. So far, only one other place that I've tried even compares to this place. That's only comparing all of the "fast food" Chinese places I've had so far. read more

Here is what we ordered: -Boneless Spear Ribs (loved) -General Tso's Chicken (loved; ordered heat level hot but it could still use more spice so we'll order extra heat next time!) -Chicken w/ Veggies in a brown sauce (loved the sauce & how well the chicken & veggies were cooked; veggies included carrots, white onion, broccoli, baby corn, celery, water chestnuts; I'd order it without celery next time & ask for extra broccoli instead) -Veggie Lo Mein (filled with flavor, loved it! veggies included broccoli, snow peas, baby corn, and mushrooms) -Sides of white rice & fried rice (both awesome & cooked perfect) -Egg rolls (just 'OK', will go without next time) It was all hot, cooked well, & fresh! I use to love this place especially the delivery service but I went in today and after I place my order I sat down and waited and I watched the kid who took my order sneezed and didn't even try to wash his hands and the lady who puts the order in the bags I watched her rubber her nose at least five times and not once did she washed her hands and on top of that they got my orders wrong(not the first time) and refused to give me a refund, after going back and forth they finally did but it wasn't without attitude and my refund being thrown into my hand, I said thank you and told her she should wash her hands after rubbing her nose. I LOVE China Wok! I recently moved to East Nashville and was SO excited to find out they deliver to my house. They always deliver on time and the drivers are very friendly. Their food quality is great - none of those grisly bites of chicken that other Chinese restaurants serve. I have tried 5-6 entrees and several appetizers so far and have liked them all. I could personally survive on white rice entirely, and theirs is perfectly sticky. :) With a $15 min. delivery, I always get a second entree to eat the next day for lunch.
