I ordered an assortment of food: chicken and broccoli, bean curd homestyle, sesame chicken, chow mei fun, bourbon chicken, egg rolls and spring rolls. Literally lasted us three plus days. The sesame chicken was just crunchy enough with a sweet taste. I love rice noodle (mei fun) and this was one of the best I've had. Every meal was so superb. I will definitely order from them again. The portion was good for the price, but I was moved by the flavor at all. The dumplings were so weird! Not sure what was in them or how they were cooked, but I didn't like them at all. This is a true gem of a restaurant if you are a foodie. The Canton style food is exquisite. I had the Chow Mein and it was amazingly fresh and flavorful. The fresh vegetable flavors really came through, and that's actually pretty rare among many other Chinese restaurants in the area. Ordered Sesame chicken and orange chicken and got home as first bite it tasted a little weird. me and my boyfriend (i am a waitress and he is a chef) looked at the meat, and it was very pink. i looked thru the rest of the chicken and it was all pink and undercooked. i called and a woman picked up and i told her what happened and in a rude tone she said "bring it back" and then hung up before i could say anything. so my boyfriend and i go back and bring the food and as soon as we walk in, the woman runs to the back talking loudly to a cook saying how we "thought" our food wasn't cooked. i keep a good attitude bc i know how customer service is since i am a server like i mentioned. so without me getting any attitude, the cook walks up and immediately starts arguing with me and asking if ive ever eaten chicken or eaten chicken thigh and that it's suppose to be pink... like i said my boyfriend is a CHEF.. i have worked in the food industry for years, im not stupid.. he and the woman start raising their voices saying it's not undercooked and rolling their eyes. so to end it i just ask for my money back and the woman opens the register and then slams in and tosses the money in my hand then walks back with the cook mocking me loudly... terrible food, terrible service, and then restraunt is incredibly dirty. very embarrassing. 10/10 DO NOT recommend. read more

One day we both just really wanted chinese and we found this place was close to our house so we gave it a shot. It became the only place we would get Chinese food from. Besides Chinatown (which is a far drive to us), this is our go to place for Chinese takeout in Nashville. It is not the best Chinese food you will taste, its not the highest quality and surely not upscale. But for a Chinese takeout spot - this place is good. We normally get lo mein, fried rice, Mongolian beef, sesame chicken and crab ragoons. We really like that the crab ragoons aren't super fake tasting and not over fried. The sesame chicken isn't horribly sweet and lo mein is the right noodles and has a good flavor. The staff is nice and they almost always throw in a freebie like donuts or springrolls. read more

While I was a student at Vanderbilt I suffered through eating Best Wok (or "Shitty Wok" as we affectionately dubbed it) whenever I needed my Chinese food fix. I told myself that Nashville just didn't have good, cheap, Chinese food and decided to stop looking. When I moved to the Donelson area, I noticed a tiny Chinese restaurant tucked away in the same strip mall as a Food Lion and the liquor store. I was intrigued, but having been hurt so many times by Best Wok I was reluctant to give it a try. Last night I finally opted to try China King, and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. You get a great bang for your buck here-large portions for a fair price. I'm able to get 2 hearty meals out of the large size. I tried the Sesame Chicken (my go-to anytime I try a new Chinese place) and it was really good! The sauce they used was different from any other I had ever tried but in a good way. I told them I wanted it a little bit spicy and they did just the right amount of spice. The egg rolls were okay; nothing to write home about but good enough. I love these joints that sling that typical brought-in, Chinese version of Sysco, wok'd-to-order Yankee Chinese favorites with the big pictures on the menu board. I love them even more when they nail it, which so few places do. The shit was hot, cooked and boxed up on-the-double, and tasted like I hoped it would. It's surprisingly easy to fuck this shit up, but these guys have some pride and took care to make sure the dishes were tasty and as fresh as they could be within the limits of the rules of the game. I ate the entirety of my "Sesame Beef", which I hardly ever do, and wished there was more of it when I got done done stuffing my fat face. How I wish these guys would open a location in my town. I'm reviewing this place purely based off of the taste of the food and price . We picked this place based off the fact that it had the highest yelp ratings in the area for fast Chinese food. Fast Chinese food in store front locations can be risky but we were very surprised in how good the food was! I ordered the beef and broccoli combo plate, tasty , fresh and cheap. The Hubs ordered the Tso chicken, SO GOOD!! Next time though I'm going to get white rice and not the fried, having fried rice made it a alittle too heavy. I've gotten take out from this place more than I'd like to admit. The owners are always so nice & the food is always hot & fresh. The crab Rangoon is amazing, so crispy & creamy. The sesame chicken & general Tso's chicken taste the same, but they're both good. The egg rolls taste like they're probably frozen.
