This was our second visit to Ming Kitchen. The space is updated and clean. Still no dine in due to Covid. Lady taking calls was friendly and efficient. We ordered the family meal for three, which typically comes with egg rolls. Sweet & sour chicken, general Taos, chicken lo mein, and rice. I was surprised and pleased they allowed us to allow us to substitute the sweet & sour for garlic chicken and veggies (my fave). Just as it was on our last visit, the food was prepared fresh, packaged and presented well, and the servings were abundant. We had plenty leftovers for lunch today. This place is disgusting. We ordered from Door Dash. Everything tasted old and off... like food poisoning old and off. The PuPu platter (too many jokes here) was so greasy, proteins were over cooked days ago. Even the rice was weird. Weird color, weird consistency... almost like it was fried and town frozen. I was really excited about this place opening, but it was pretty disappointing. It's on par with many of the other Chinese restaurants in town (Fortune House, Peking House, China Wok)- and frankly, none of them are good. I apologize if you love those places; and if you do, you'll like this place, too. For me, it was way too greasy- the orange chicken was rough on my stomach. Everything I tried was just super Americanized. I will say that the inside is nice and clean- it's brand new. There are a handful of tables, and you order at the counter. It's an environmentalist's nightmare- even when you dine in, you use plastic cutlery, bowls, etc. Had to pay for bottled water, tap was not an option. I actually wiped out the plastic soup containers and took them home to recycle, I felt so guilty after my family ate because so much plastic was involved. Worst Chinese food I've had Egg food young was burnt and I don't think they know what the ingredients are. Overuse of spices overcooked rice extremely oily and salty. This is definitely the best Chinese food option in the area. The portions aren't overly large, but they are certainly sufficient. The food is always hot and fresh when we arrive to pick it up. Everything we have had has been really good. I think the prices are very fair (and even less than some places in the area) and I like that the entrees come with an egg roll. Terrible customer service!! Gave us wrong order and did not want to correct that. Ask anyone, chow mein is a noodle dish, yet we only got steamed vegetables. We got all the way home and manager did not want to take responsibility and required us to come back. Opened the container and the vegetables smelled rotten. Worst experience. read more

I always hesitate when I crave Chinese food. It's with good reason because good Chinese restaurants are few and far between. We got our food to go from Ming. Our order consisted of beef with snow peas, Crab "Gran" goon, fried wonton, beef fried rice and regular rice. The beef with snow peas was edible at best, crab Rangoon wasn't cooked enough but it would've been good even had it been cooked properly. If I go Chinese I always get fried wontons. OMG! These were awful!! Soggy and something fried into the middle of them that neither of us could determine what it was. My husband was brave enough to go ahead and taste it even though it looked like a slug. He spit it out because it tasted as bad as it looked. Needless to say we will not return. read more

Ordered chow mein and was given a huge pile of bland broccoli, onion, and celery and two little bags of fried wonton strips. When I called thinking my order was incorrect, they informed me that this is real chow mein and the kind with noodles like in the Wikipedia entry for chow mein and literally every recipe online for it, is "California" Chinese food so this is what I was stuck with. read more

Can we please get some real fried rice in Nashville area?? Not the yellow rice? The sweet sour chicken had no pineapple or anything - just pink sauce. The egg rolls were okay but lacked flavor. Dumplings were pretty good. I just wish more restaurants would stop Americanizing their food. The egg foo young was not made like traditional egg foo young and instead had frozen peas/carrots instead of bean sprouts. I won't be back. The food portions aren't that big, and then when I got home they left out the pork fried rice. So I called them to tell them, they do not apologize and just ask if I want to come back and get it. I decide to go back and get it because everybody in the family was really wanting fried rice with their Chinese food. This place is just like any other take out place, so why give it 5 stars? It's because it's 100% what we expected. We ordered coconut shrimp, the bourbon chicken, and-of course- Crab Rangoon. There was enough food that we ate three meals from each entree, and still had rice left over. We ordered online, and the food was ready before time to be picked up. The containers the entree comes in can be reused at home if you like. If you want average take out, this is your place. Waste of money-YUCK- the sesame chicken was tough, dry, and stringy- couldn't eat it- hard to swallow-literally almost choked.. rice was brown and salty. Pleasantly surprised by this place. We have been searching for decent Chinese takeout and took a chance on Ming using Uber eats. Order was correct, hot, and tasty. I am very particular about Chinese chicken and the cuts that are used, the black pepper chicken was perfectly cooked and crunchy even after a long time in transit. Perfect flavor. On past trips to Ming Kitchen I would say that it is average Chinese food at best, but decided to give them another shot last night. I placed my order and was told that it would be a twenty minute wait... that turned into about a fifty minute wait. When I got home and opened the food, I noticed a scorched smell from the lo mien and when putting it on a plate I noticed a staple in the bottom of the container with the noodles. The fried rice also had the same scorched smell and taste. Both containers of the General Tso chicken tasted old and stringy. Upset stomach was endured by all in the house who nibbled at the food from there last night. There are many other Restaurants in town and it will be highly unlikely that I will order again from this place! read more

I have lived in Hendersonville for over 10 years and very unfortunately drove by this place a million times without ever giving it a chance until Yesterday. I was hanging with some friend and we wanted some food and my friend said Ming Kitchen. i love Chinese food often cook it myself bc I hate that weird chicken most places use. h He told me no they use real chicken and I laughed but was willing to try. Wow was I surprised. I got the General Tso's chicken and it was hands down the BEST Chinese takeout I've EVER had in the states. It was small pieces of REAL white meat chicken. The fried rice was AMAZING. The best part was the Crab Rangoon's though! They were $1 each which is high but now I know why, they actually use crab and they are stuffed full!! I was so impressed with this place. The lady that took my order was really sweet and kind. The prices were super cheap. $8 for a huge portion of General Tso's and fried rice. Do yourself a favor and ignore the older looking building and you'll never go to another place but this one! I'll be back tonight!! Lol read more
