I've been feeding my family from here since they opened their doors. Mrs Li and her family have all worked in the restaurant at one time or another. The food quality is very good, we all have our favorites. They are always helpful if you can't decide on what to eat and have plenty of variety to choose from. our family has been eating at China Spring ever since they opened the business in 2004. I believe in the dozens of times that we've eaten there only had one dish that I did not like and that was not because of the quality it was because I did not like one of the ingredients. The owners of the restaurant are very kind and go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. They even opened up a buffet when we asked for one, but it had to close because they did not have enough business to support it and too much food was going to waste. This is unfortunate because many of the items on the buffet were wonderful and not something you would order every day. We have watched their children grow up and now our working the family business themselves and doing a great job. Had not been to this restaurant in years and wanted to try it again. Ordered the sweet and sour shrimp. I went back to my hotel room only to realize that I did not have the white rice that I ordered to go with it. I contacted the restaurant to let them know that my order was not complete and was advised that I could come back and pick up the rice or get a replacement the next day. When I went back I was only offered the white rice no shrimp but with two sodas to complement their mistake. The shrimp was dry and turning white and couldn't eat it even without the rice. Good Chinese food take-out in Greenbrier. Used to have a fine buffet, too, but that ended with the pandemic. You could eat in, but there are only a few tables. My favorites include: Pu-Pu platter, House Mai Fun, Mooshoo Shrimp, Crab Rangoon and Hot Chicken with Mushrooms. Better for take-out, though. read more

First time eating here and did not disappoint great food and great service food didn't take long to be made and very reasonably priced!

We've ordered from there four or five times now and each meal has been slightly more disappointing than the last. Too bad since they are close by. Both the beef and the chicken on sticks are very overcooked and tough as are the boneless spareribs -- they are all more like blackened jerky. The vegetables are cooked okay but tend to be quite bland. On the other hand, their Egg Fu Yung, Mu Shu, Chow Mein and Lo Mein are very good. The people there are always very nice but we're looking for a better Chinese takeout. Too bad. read more

We enjoyed the food. The employee was a bit rude. I asked what meals were popular. She looked at me like she didn't understand what I was asking. I rephrased the question & she answer out of duty. We went to sit down; both booths were dirty with soy sauce. We asked for a rag to wash it. She nodded towards their only table, as if to tell us to sit there. I told her we wanted a booth. She reluctantly came & washed it for us. The lady came around by the end of our visit. She seemed pleasant to her "regulars". All of them took their orders to go. We've eaten here twice since we moved in the area. My husband and I love Chinese food. I decided to give it two tries before I left a review.... Fried Dumplings: Decent....the sauce to dip them in was tasty and flavorful Egg Rolls: Edible, although obviously frozen Fried Rice: Bland...very bland. Not a whole lot else to be said. General Tso's: The chicken was over fried. Very cheap quality. The sauce was horrible. It was so bland!! The best part was the single little piece of brocoli. Burbon Chicken: Dear Lord, whatever you do, PLEASE do not order this. The best description would be warmed meat with a tough beef-jerky like texture with a sickenly sweet sticky sauce on top. Good luck chewing through it. I'm guessing the majority of the food is frozen, ordered from some large warehouse, and quickly fried to order. While it's a conveniently located restaurant, the quality is just not there. I'll pass! read more

My whole family enjoys when I bring home food from China Spring, though we do miss the buffet. Unless you hit up the buffet right during dinner rush, it's not worth it. Food is cold, old, and nearly empty. It's too bad too, their food is very good. The owners are amazing and friendly and the service is usually excellent. We've been coming to this place since we moved to Greenbrier. Some people are just so hard to please, but this place will make things fresh in the buffet if you ask during the buffet time. We typically order to go and pick it up. I use Beyond menu to offer through my phone. This family is local and they work hard. They have three kids in the local school system, work late and on Holidays. I've never had a bad plate of food here.. As for some saying the food is bland.. You can ADD salt to a dish, though this type of food is known for being salty. I make the request to go easy on the salt on our dishes and they always do as asked. Anyway, I just ordered for this even and can't wait to get it in my belly :) read more

This is my local Chinese food option without traveling to get my fix and I am thrilled to be lucky enough to have them in my neighborhood! First, family operated restaurant with a friendly, capable & caring staff. I never eat the buffet so no ability to comment but will give my favorites an reviews on what I have tried. First- Hot & Sour soup: Authentic, perfectly seasoned and consistency an has ALL the authentic veggies, meat and tofu it's suppose to have. It's AMAZING & truly has spoiled me and no one ever makes it as good as they do. Cheap as well, under $4 for a quart- you can't beat that! It's lasts in your fridge for reheats for a week. As for the rest of the menu: all the standards I've tried and they are awesome! I particularly love anything spicy they make, their shrimp dishes are great and they use authentic soba for lomeins which makes all the difference. Kung Po anything is my fav. You can request any dish to be less or more spicy and for that matter - add any meat or veg you wish and it's also helpful that the lady who runs the front speaks really good English. So Me and my boyfriend went here today and the lady who waited on us was very rude. She complained we left too much food on our plates. We left a lot of it on our plates because it was cold! And not only did this lady say this to us once, it was once when we were getting dessert and then another when she came to our table to pick up our plates and then a third time to my boyfriend while he was trying to pay! I didn't expect much after driving by this place a few times, but after reading the reviews, I thought it was worth a visit. It was. ....worth one visit. The place looks old and dirty. The food doesn't seem authentic in the least. I found one dish that was pretty good, so I didn't leave the buffet hungry....it was a breaded, fried chicken and mushroom dish. the eggrolls and crab Rangoon weren't too bad either. But out of two dozen or so offerings from the buffet, it was pretty bad. Drive the extra distance and go to Nashville or Clarksville. I went here for lunch. I love Chinese food. They open at 11:00 and got there not long after they opened so you would think the food was fresh. The fried rice wasn't quite ready. I had the sweet and sour chicken and chicken on a stick. Should have been called chicken jerky on a stick. It was so tuff and hard to chew. But that was just how long the soup was sitting there. The green beans were dried up. The fried offering were luke warm at best.
