What I received was only the chicken and no beef or shrimp. When I called to complain the Chinese lady said it's what I ordered when it plainly wasn't. Also, the fried rice was like steamed white rice with no carrots or peas. I was raised that the customer was always right and to fix a problem when one arose. This place did not offer to do anything unless I brought the plate back. I told them I would but we only get 30 minutes for lunch so I had to eat what I got, like it or not. I won't be back to this "Blue Roof" Fortune Village restaurant because it's getting added to my banned list. China One is SO much consistently better!!! read more

New to the area and have been searching for my go to Chinese take out spot. We live in the Ashland city/pleasant view area and the one Chinese restaurant here was absolutely awful so the next time I ordered Chinese I tried a spot in Springfield. I thought it was this place so today when I wanted some Chinese I called and ordered from here but once I pulled in a realized this wasn't the same place, but was hopefully it would be good. It was not. I'll mention the positives first. I called in my order while leaving Kroger. It was ready by the time I pulled into their parking lot. So it took maybe 3-4 min. The service was friendly and the food came out fast and hot. Unfortunately it was horrible. I ordered the crab angels and the fried wontons. The crab angels were super super salty. Inedibly salty. And very oniony. The fried wontons were on the opposite side of the spectrum where they were pretty bland and flavorless. I ate two of each item hoping that my first impression of them was wrong and trying to convince myself that they weren't as bad as I thought. But they were. I hate wasting food, or money, but I had to throw these away because I just could not eat them. Both were also extremely greasy. I could feel the oil in my arteries and pores. So that was $14 wasted. Maybe other things on their menu are better but I'm not willing to try it again. After eating food from the Ashland city Chinese restaurant I thought it was the worst I've ever had but this place was just as bad or actually worse. I think the place I liked was called china one after searching more following this mix up. So I'll try and remember to go there next time read more

Extremely fast service from the workers they are truly the best! They are always so sweet and have never once gotten my order wrong. This is a drive-thru only restaurant. You may end up in a line but they are generally pretty quick. The food is always hot and tasty. The owners work the window and are so friendly. I recommend you check it out!!! read more

Visiting from out of town- on a Sunday night- my choices were limited to pizza, Chinese food, or fast food. I went with Fortune Village. The place isn't much to look at, and it's drive thru only, but the staff was very kind and honest. I asked a lot of questions, because I know what I like. She had me in mostly the right direction. I ordered enough for left overs for the next day. The sweet and sour chicken - tasted like you'd expect. Bourbon chicken- much less sweet and more bourbon-y than you'd anticipate. Good egg rolls. Very disappointing!!! We have eaten there quite often in the past. The food tasted nothing like it did then. We spent quite a bit of money for food that honestly was horrible. My advice is make the drive to White House and eat at Mr. Wok. You won't be disappointed. From the best "Blue Roof" Chinese food we used to get to the absolute worst. If you want to get three meals out of one order, this is the place for you. Their building looks like they're closed, but they are not! They have been there for years and most people call it the "Blue Roof" place. It's drive-through only and you have to either order on their website or at their window. read more

The only issue I have with Blue Roof is they do not have boneless BBQ pork. If they did they would have 5 stars.

We wanted to try this place as it always has a line for the drive thru. I got a small won ton soup (really salty but ok), egg rolls (very oily) and Kung Pao chicken. This is NOT kung pao chicken. It should be more correctly sold as kung pao vegetables with chicken. Or they could call it Kung Pao Skimp. I hate when restaurants do this. It's just cheap on their part. I taste way more water chestnuts and mini corn (whatever thats called) than chicken and the sauce is not a hoisin based sauce. Very disappointed. read more

I waited 45 minutes. The cost was 23.85 for chicken fried rice eggroll and crab angels. The rice was not cooked well - bout broke my tooth on a super hard piece of rice. Teh chicken pieces were the size of dimes and there were only about 10 pieces all together. The rice and eggroll were greasy. Teh crab angels were flavorless. I ask for sweet sour sauce and was given a dirty look by the lady preparing the to go bags. $24 dollars could have fed me well at Torinos or The Depot or Ichibon or anywhere else in Springfield. First time ordering from Fortune Village - Blue Roof, and had to wait a hot minute but I arrived 10 minutes earlier than the 45 minute recommended wait time for pickup and they had it ready. Very good Chinese food. Worth the wait. Just order ahead of time before you go and park out front and they'll bring it out to you. read more

This place is always packed so we decided to try! Well we love beef fried rice, cashew chicken, sweet sour chicken. But we don't like this food. I have many friends that love it here. We are not a fan. I do want to give them a Five Star like for how nice and happy they are. Very nice people. Had a friend tell me to try it one more time and tell them what I want and don't want in my food. This place invokes mixed feelings about Chinese food. This is a mixture of drive through, carry out and dine in. The ambiance is very plain. When we came it seemed the most popular option was drive-thru. First the cons: The vegetarian options are EXTREMELY limited to two - Vegetable Lo Mein, and, Chinese Vegetables with Fried Rice. The pros: The portions are humongous. Since my wife and I are two people and there are two options we each tried one. Chinese vegetables with fried rice is the better option with a huge plate of vegetables and fried rice while the vegetable lo mein was also a huge serving it was mostly lo mein noodles with a small amount of vegetables. The service was moderately quick and friendly while the prices were very reasonable, especially for the amount you get. Both of us had to have to-go boxes since we couldn't finish our meals. Would we return? Maybe. Especially if they offered more vegetarian options, like spring rolls. read more

This place is a diamond in the rough. From the outside you may be tempted to pass by. DON'T. The food is THE BEST Chinese in a 30 mile radius. I'd rather drive up to Springfield than any of the restaurants closer to Nashville. The food is always hot, fresh, and made to order. The prices are super affordable. The employees are SO friendly. I'd personally recommend the Moo Goo Gai Pan, Orange Chicken, and Chicken Fried Rice. I need to try their other dishes, but I always get the same thing because it's so good - I crave it!!! We ate dinner here tonight. As the previous reviewer noted, the egg roll was yummy! The wonton soup was also very tasty. We also had the Beef & Chinese Vegetables. Not the best we've had, but close. Lots of fresh, crunchy vegetables and large pieces of beef. The dining room was very plain, but don't let that scare you away. Great food at great prices! We always have the #7, chicken in hot garlic sauce. We get it mild, because it's just too hot otherwise. Went here a lot during my childhood and I'll still pop in every now and then when I visit Springfield. It's not the most presentable place, but man, at under $7 for a lot food that taste good, one cannot really get any better in Springfield for Chinese-American food. Some of the dishes are a bit too oily for my liking, so I usually stay away from the fried dishes and opt for white rice instead of fried rice or lo mein. Soups are delicious and the chicken wings is my favorite side item. They have take-out, drive-thru and dine-in services, but I would recommend doing take-out as it is quick and easy. read more

My wife and I love Chinese food and decided to try this restaurant last night. I was very disappointed. We ordered the beef lo mein, shrimp fried rice and a side order of fried wontons. I have so much to say that I've reserved a whole paragraph for each order. The beef lo mein was the best thing we had. I say this with regret because at best it was tasteless and greasy. Most beef lo mein dishes have a salty taste with some spice and a little bit of sweetness from the noodles. Besides a slight difference in texture between the beef and the noodles, the only thing I could taste was grease. Shrimp fried rice is a hard dish to get wrong. I've never had terrible shrimp fried rice from any establishment until now. The rice was dry and bland. I've had better fried rice from a frozen meal. Actually, I've had much better fried rice from frozen meals. Speaking of frozen, the shrimp were clearly frozen for far too long and cooked completely wrong. The shrimp were mushy and completely tasteless. It was like I put a soggy piece of bread in my mouth mixed with rice. The wontons should be re-marketed as chips. They were so hard that I had to break them apart by hand into small pieces just to eat them. That's pretty bad considering I love the texture of beef jerky. I had to take them away from my son because I was worried he would puncture the roof of his mouth. Inside was wrapped a single piece of unidentifiable meat roughly half the size of the last knuckle of my pinky finger and that was it. If you're in Springfield and looking for Chinese, find a different restaurant or save your money and grab a frozen meal from Kroger. It will be far more satisfying than anything you could buy here. read more
