The beef with tender and just the right amount of spice in the sauce which was soooo tasty all over the mushrooms and onions. I mixed in the lo mein with it and it was delightful! The lady who helped was soo kind and even though we rushed in last minute to grab some food was very sweet and helpful. Talked about how they have been in business for years now and when I saw their rating I had to give it a try!! My favorites at Mr Wok: Egg Drop Soup, Hunan Beef and Pepper Steak. I try to get a new dish every time we order since their menu is pretty big and really enjoy it all. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of? Mongolian Beef. It's very different from any other I had, most notably - it's missing green onions. Still tasty though! The absolute best thing about Mr Wok is how efficient they are with phone orders. They are friendly and super patient; no rushing you off the phone! If you order something and it's not available, they will even suggest similar dishes. Takes the anxiety out of ordering lmao. We have decent appetites and 2 small dishes plus a soup is good enough for dinner plus lunch the next day for both of us. Great deal! read more

Updated review because I tried something new.We order from here almost every week. The staff and cooks are awesome and the food is great. Everything we've tried from their menu is really tasty and the portions are huge. I love their Bourbon chicken. It's always tender and yummy. The Bourbon sauce is a bit sweet so I order it 'on the side'. I recently tried the Pork Chow Mein and it is really good. There is no seating, but we always order pick up. It's Chinese food American style. The real question is who is the Mr Wok and why have I never seen him? No it was good, here's what I like l: first they are friendly, second they wore masks , third the food is exactly what you expect. I got chicken and broccoli on white rice which I promptly added soy sauce to. Rich, and delicious. I got a small order and even that was a lot to eat. On the side I got my most favorite of all Chinese delicacies the Crab Rangoon. Why are these so good? Like kryptonite! Keep that overly sweet red stuff to dip it in, not sure what that is. Our daughter and son-in-law live in the area, and when we visit, we order dinner from Mr. Wok at least one night every time we're in town. The food is always fresh and perfectly cooked, and the portion sizes are huge and very reasonably priced for the quantity and quality of food. The order is always right, which is a rarity these days. So understand these are the nicest people. But the food is flavorless. I wanted some flavor so I ordered Sichuan ckicken, extra spicy, extra garlic, extra ginger. First of all, they don't use ginger so that was a no go. When I got it home to eat it, it was steaming hot, and a decent size portion. But no flavor. Totally bland. I tried to douse it with soy sauce and the other little packets that you get with take-out (mustard, duck, hot), but even with that...so bland. Ok so I'm a Chinese food frantic. I love Chinese food and normally rather go to a buffet than a take out/ dine in place. I've driven by this location for a year and decided one night to stop by and the food was amazing. "They must have gotten lucky" was my thought so I decided take my father to this place again and, man, they really do know how to cook the best fresh Chinese food. I've been getting takeout from here over the last 2 years that I've lived in White House. After trying out many different items from their menu I now stick with the Mala Tofu (it's like Ma Po Tofu) extra spicy and without the ground chicken. When I first started ordering the Mala Tofu is was great one visit, and non-edible the next. The vegetables that they added to it always varied as well (peas, carrots, mushrooms, water chestnuts, bell peppers....). I don't know what they've changed now, but it is finally consistently made and consistently good. They still make it with bell peppers which is a little weird to me, but not bad. They are always very friendly and even know my order as soon as I call and say 'I want to place an order for takeout'. It is the better of the Asian food options in White House. read more

Classic chinese takeout. It is a family run restaurant with excellent customer service. It is my favorite place in white house and I even drive from hendersonville sometimes to get my fix. Fair low prices for quality food. I usually get general tsos or the sweet and sour chicken.
