I'm giving this place a 5 because I can't give it a 4.5 and, in this case, I think erring on the side of caution is to the better benefit of other Yelpers. First things first - this place is best suited to take out as there are only four tables seating four people each, a drink case, and single (but clean) bathroom. Either way we found ourselves needing to dine-in as we live closer to Nashville and couldn't reasonably do carry out. All that said we dined in and had great experience. Food was delivered to the table vs just picking up at the counter. The service was very good, very fast, and very courteous. Two kiddos, DH, and I tried a variety of things: Pork Spring Roll, Veggie Spring Roll, Egg Drop Soup, H/S Soup, Fried Pork Dumplings, Singapore Rice Noodle, SS Chicken, Chicken Broccoli. Pork Spring Roll was the closest I've ever had to my vietnamese mother-in-law's egg rolls - EVER. They were really really good. Just nice, simple, thin shelled, pork egg rolls. Didn't even use any of the sauces. Veggie Spring Roll (2 per order) was good too but should cut them in half right away to let out some of the steam so the veggies do not get overcooked. The sauce served with these wasn't very good but they were very good when dipped in a little bit of the sweet and sour sauce. Overall, good and will try again. Sweet & Sour (SS) Chicken was what it normally is. Breading was little thick for my taste but DH and kids liked it. Was a little on the oily side but nothing that resting on a paper towel wouldn't cure. Nice texture and crispy. Had leftovers. Egg Drop Soup had nice light flavor and wasn't overly thick and yellow like you sometimes see with others that are largely artificially flavored. Had leftovers. Hot & Sour (H/S) Soup had good flavor even though I typically do not like the H/S soups that use black pepper for seasoning. This one had quite a bit but overall wasn't awful or anything. Was served with crispy wonton strips. Had leftovers. Fried Pork Dumplings were free (without even asking) with our order. They were nice and crispy and had really good flavor. The sauce served on side was a little bit sweet, not overly salty, and complimented really well. Chicken Broccoli - I didn't care for the mouth feel of the white meat chicken but I don't really like meat all that much. It wasn't slimy but was a little bit on the rubbery side. The kids and DH ate the meat. I ate the veggies. The sauce was a little thin but when served over white rice was absolutely perfect. The overall flavor was really good. Would get again but will try veggies or beef next time. Had leftovers. Singapore Rice Noodle - Seriously fantastic. The curry flavor is nice and light and it isn't spicy at all. I like the flavor of curry but don't always like heavy handed application or the spice of it. This was absolutely perfectly spiced, perfectly cooked and the white meat chicken in this dish was very, very good (not at all like the Chicken Broccoli). There was also LOTS of egg in it. Had leftovers. Total for all was $45. All leftovers re-heated VERY well. Kids loved it both meals, we loved both meals and the service. Highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

I called the Rice Box so see if their vegetable lo mein was vegan. They told me the ingredients and I was happy to hear that it was indeed vegan. So I asked them if they could make sure they use different utensils while making it so there wouldn't be any cross contamination. This is pretty typical when I order out at other places and I've never had a problem. But she actually told me that I should just cook it myself at home!! I couldn't believe it! Always our favorite!! Hot, fresh, and a little different. It's not your typical Chinese take-out but it tastes homemade. Can't forget the free dumplings we get with every order. I don't know what has happened since they were closed for so long during this Covid mess but we've gotten food here three times since they opened back up and the food has been terrible. I used to love this place but something has changed. The first time I got food after they opened back up the food was so stale. I even joked about it must have been left in the freezer while they were closed. The next time the food tasted so old. And this past time it was even worse. I have never left food from here, until now. I threw food in the trash and I had never done that before I always saved it and ate it for lunch but I don't think I'll be eating here anymore read more

As I was looking at the menu, a gentleman eating there told me I should go for the black pepper chicken, so I did it and it was definitely a good recommendation. It was less than $6 including tax for my entree, rice, and choice of soup. I appreciate this place gives you the option of brown rice. It also had the typical white and fried to choose from as well. Most things on the menu are available as a lunch portion. So for price versus quality/quantity, it's definitely worth giving a try. I'd stop in again for lunch. read more

I was looking for a good restaurant for lunch. Based on reviews I decided on this dreary afternoon to stop in. The restaurant is very clean but it was freezing in there. The person at the counter did turn on the heat while I was there and it warmed up a bit. Lunch special is $5.75 which includes the entree, rice (white or brown) and choice of soup. I ordered a spring roll too. Food was delivered quickly. The spring roll was very greasy but piping hot. All served in to go containers. Tasty but nothing exceptional. This reminds me more of a food court Chinese restaurant. I think I'll keep trying more places in the area. read more

Love the Rice Box! The fried rice is great with yummy fried egg and onions. The General Taos chicken is our family's favorite. We live just on the other side of town and forget that Rice box is close to us we went there tonight to get a to go order everything was ready prompt hot fresh they even gave us fresh fired dumplings with our order it is phenomenal you can tell everything is fresh we will definitely be going back if you guys havent checked this place out you need to you're not going to get old stuff that has been sitting there for a while it's super fresh I love it! We were just blown away. If you haven't tried them you need to stop by. A female can go to smile nails get a manicure and pedicure or a pedicure and your nails done then head down the sidewalk and have lunch or dinner. Tried this place yesterday and found it average at best. Apparently the restaurant has changed hands since the amazing reviews posted a while back. Ordered shrimp with broccoli and brown rice and found the broccoli over cooked quite a bit and the rice tasteless.
