While we normally place our orders online, service is always friendly when I call in. Our normal orders are always sesame chicken, wonton soup and egg rolls. On occasion I will order the bourbon chicken, which is a great alternative when the craving for sesame chicken isn't there. While the meals are always great, the egg rolls and wonton soup are always top notch! Only issue here is the fried wontons that accompany the soup are stale more times than not, so if they could make something happen there... Pricing is solid, especially for delivery. Had to go here cause my normal spot is closed on Saturdays and I needed some #chinese food. Saw the overall rating is 3/5 and honestly I couldn't agree more. The vibe of the restaurant was top tier really chill environment. Service was okay, they have a screen between you and the cashier and while I understand why, it causes some mix up on orders. I ordered from China One though DoorDash and it arrived still hot which is impressive. The General Tso chicken was ok. It had a nice spiciness to it, which is what I asked for, but the flavor seem to have a sweet and sour taste to it. Don't get me wrong, I ate the whole thing, but it's not the General Tso flavor I am used to with Chinese restaurants. The fried rice was bland and had little flavor to it. It appears to be some yellow grained rice with small pieces of onion and pork throughout. The first picture makes it appear there is not much quantify of either item, but in my second picture you can see how much actually came in the container. The egg rolls were your average egg roll with a crispy exterior and flavorful interior. It was still steaming hot when I got it, so again impressed with how well the food maintained temperature during the 20 minute transit to my hotel room. Overall, I was not overly impressed with he flavor of the food. The quality was there, but their flavors are inconsistent or non-existent in some items. This place has been hit or miss for me. The service is fast - usually 15 min for a pickup order. Parking is easy and location is convenient. The food varies. My last order of chicken with mushrooms and chicken kung pao was disappointing. The biggest problem was the chicken itself. For chicken and mushrooms, I would have preferred the chicken to be stir-fried, but I got deep-fried, and the meat itself was not choice. Not a lot of mushrooms. Fried rice was nothing special, kind of dry. Kung Pao chicken was also not choice, seemed like a lot of the pieces were mostly deep-fried breading. This is not your place for fine dining, but for your on-the-go/ order-in chinese food; this place is AMAZING. And the food comes out pretty quick too. This place has always been a good Chinese place to grab some lunch or dinner. It's own and run by a family and they are very fast. The same lady always takes the order. They food tastes good and they give you plenty. If you go there often they will eventually know you and treat you more like family. They have the regular items like all Chinese food restaurants (combinations, fried food, dumplings, etc). They always give you sauces and utensils but you can grab some too on the counter. They have seating inside for you to have your food there if you want to. It's a decent size, maybe for about 10-12 people. They also have a bathroom and it's decent. China one has become my place to go for Chinese in Donelson. I order from here at minimum twice a month. The honey walnut shrimp.... If you haven't tried it... get it!! So good! The food always come to my door really quickly and the delivery people are super nice. The mai fun as well as the bean curd with mixed vegetables are staples of mine. I usually order a large quantity with friends over and we set up buffet style after a night out! We've had no complaints. The only one we've not been huge on is the bourbon chicken- the sauce is very flavorful but the chicken always seems to be too dry. If i could give NO stars, I would! Worst Chinese food I've had in a while!!! I ordered the general tso chicken, egg drop soup, chicken lo mien egg roll and crab Rangoon's. A wasted 38 dollars! I wanted to take it back, however I'm not sure on their return policy. Each item lacked flavor, not sure what type of chicken is included in the general tso but I'll never try it again! Took a couple bites and right off the bat something just tasted off and texture was off. Ordered the orange chicken and general tso had to throw away both of them. China one can't do anything. Or won't. Uber Eats won't credit my account. I had to cancel. I got a driver with a 4.99 rating which means he's new. First time eating their food, was wanting Chinese so ordered through Postmates. I got an appetizer of rangoons and the lunch special honey chicken with an egg roll and fried rice. The rangoons are on more of the savory side so if you prefer the sweeter ones then I don't recommend these for you. They're pretty good for savory ones. The honey chicken is really sweet, hence the name . It was really good I add a little chili garlic sauce I had at home to it and it was superb. The fried rice was oily tasting, not the greatest fried rice but when everything is combined it's good. The egg roll was a good egg roll. We paid an extra $2 to substitute chicken instead of pork which is fine but it's not what you think of when you think fried rice. It's yellow and there's no vegetable- only onion and chicken. I ordered shrimp egg foo young and lobster fried rice. I almost always order egg foo young when ordering Chinese food. The review of the egg foo young is just my opinion. It was very very eggy and almost runny (not very appetizing), the sauce had an odd taste, almost like BBQ sauce. The lobster fried rice is not lobster, I'm almost positive it's crawfish but it would make more sense if it was langostino. It also has some kind of imitation shellfish meat packed in as well. This is very misleading, and I have never had this issue when ordering lobster fried rice anywhere else. It's like ordering duck and receiving chicken. I ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young which tasted like scrambled eggs and rubber with no seasoning... The shrimps were over-cooked to the point where they became rubber!! Literally!! The gravy was some sort of syrupy Teriyaki sauce which would've been much better on the yellow so called fried rice!! Their beef is always tender and cooked well. Staff is always friendly and it's fun to watch them cook while waiting for your food. I've never disliked anything I've gotten from here, and the food is always SUPER hot when it arrives.
