Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken, Fried Rice
Bailey D.

We finally got around to ordering delivery from Golden Prawn #3, and I am stoked to have such delicious Chinese food nearby! Seriously, I think their orange chicken may be the best I've ever had. Delivery was quick and easy through UberEats. I will say that I had logged in a few times before to find that delivery was not available. Definitely double check in the app before getting your hopes up! It also looks like their Hot Line is only open from 11 AM - 4 PM. I ordered the 2 Item Plate for myself, with orange chicken, garlicky green beans, and Jasmine rice. My husband ordered the 3 Item Plate with orange chicken, kung pao chicken, char siu pork, and fried rice. We also tacked on some hot & sour soup and an order of shrimp and pork dumplings. Everything was hot, fresh, and full of those nostalgic Chinese takeout flavors we know and love. We'll definitely be ordering from here again, and will also stop in and check the place out in-person soon!

Social media has its way of sucking you in. Based off all of the reviews, I had to make my way to Golden Prawn #3. Finding a decent Chinese takeout was hard to come by in the area, but I must say I'm rather pleased with this try. Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30, so a little before their closing time of 4pm. There were maybe 3 individuals ahead of me and few others trickled in after. Line wasn't extremely long, so maybe the newness has worn down and it won't be as hard to get in to grab a bite. They have a hot bar line you can order off of or specific menu items. When ordering off the hot line you have the option of 1 item/2 item/3 item and side of rice or chow mein. You can do a split option of the rice and chow mein and pick your desired entree item based off the choice. I was told the hot line options change. I'm unsure of how frequent they change though. Based off my choice of the split side, orange chicken, and beef and broccoli; I must say I was pleased. All were packed with flavor and a reasonable portion of each was given. I was able to eat on this 1 meal throughout the remainder of the day. Spring rolls 1/3 Shrimp Pot stickers 2/3 they would have been better had they been made fresh. They seemed somewhat stale and cold from just sitting on the line. I do recommend you order some. If you're a Chinese take-out kind of person, give it a try!

One of the most hyped openings this winter, Golden Prawn #3 provides comfort and nostalgia wrapped in a witty fortune cookie. Promising the msg-laden, fried, delicious Chinese takeout of my youth, Golden Prawn is really ideal as pure takeaway. There is a small private parking lot, but other than about 6 seats at their window, there is not much space set up to dine in here. The inside is very clean and I love the kitchsy decoration with Chinese takeout menus from other local spots (though they miss my favorite from old Nashville, Golden Coast.) I came for lunch on day 3 of service and they were slammed; despite the line moving quickly, it took me about 20 minutes to get my food. It's purely buffet style right now and they hope to add entrees and other items eventually. Menu is reasonably priced and you get a hefty serving of a main item and a side for about $11. I opted for two mains (orange chicken and kung pao), did the half fried rice half chow mein, and also added on dumplings and egg rolls for $2 each. It all came to about $20 and lasted me two meals. I'm a massive fan of ESP and ESB so my hopes were high. The orange chicken, kung pao, and chow mein were the best items. Flavor I expected, generally enjoyable. I did not like the fried rice; it tasted a bit of ginger and I'm not certain why. The dumplings and egg rolls were fine but not my personal taste (though I did eat them cold.) Overall good but not the great I was expecting and I feel like it didn't fully bring me back to childhood lunches with my dad at Golden Coast. Almost tasted more real, less artificial, which is just not what I want for greasy Chinese takeout; just not enough msg for my personal taste! It's a good lunch option if craving reasonably priced Chinese if in the area but I think I'm more likely to go back to my tried and true favorites of ESP and ESB.

We've had golden prawn a few times but just got it delivered. We live in the neighborhood so we were stoked this opened. The way that it just actually tastes so much cleaner, delicious and "homemade" than typical Chinese in Nashville. Got the wonton soup & it's so yum. I'd add some chili oil if you prefer spice. Husband got beef & broccoli and also loved. Everyone is so kind inside as well. Okay that's all.

This new place was one of the best Chinese food we've had. I had the kung pao chicken and my husband enjoyed the Mongolian beef . Both dishes were perfectly seasoned and not over loaded w onion. They have a limited menu for now but will had a bigger selection soon. Mostly take out with a few seats at the counter for folks who can't wait to eat their food. We loved the chicken and pork potstickers too. We will be back very soon.

I'll definitely be back and will update my review accordingly. They're new and probs ironing out kinks. I went at 11:30 am on a Saturday. Everyone was SUPER friendly and kind, service was A+ for sure. But the food needs a little bit more pizzazz for my taste. I think the fried rice was my favorite due to the hint of ginger. But it was sort of dry, which seems odd because it couldn't have been more than 30 minutes old since that's how long before I got there that they opened. The noodles had good flavor but I wanted more... it was like a hint. Texture was good. The orange chicken could have been both crispier and saucier (I know it's hard to master but it is possible). The ginger from the rice and orange in the chicken was a delightful combo, I just wish the flavors were stronger all around. Also the temperature (I started eating it immediately when I got to my car, so 1-2 minutes after paying) was definitely not hit enough. Cold food is not my jam...

Golden Prawn #3 is as advertised - Chinese takeout! It's a pretty simple store with a few bar height seats and a counter for ordering. All the food I had was reasonably priced and good, although the portions felt small for the container. Staff was kind and hard working. I'd recommend going for good takeout but not the best meal you've ever eaten!

Golden Prawn from chefs Gracie Nguyen and Chad Newton is phenomenal. In the heart of East Nashvilles thriving food scene, I had high expectations. East side pho is my favorite pho, and I moved from Chicago. So, I knew this creation was going to meet that high of a standard. I can't wait to try more. As a Chinese American, I think dry beef chow fun (wide rice noodle) would be a popular addition, and popular with the local clientele. Definitely popular with me because I can't find that anywhere in Nashville but it's such a staple. Beef chow mein as well. Perhaps even dim sum items like siu mai, and har gao?

The wait was over an hour, two plates of food for almost $45, subpar flavor and it gave my family digestion issues--which I've heard from several people.

Everything was so amazing! Food, service, music, atmosphere. Really glad this is in East Nashville!

Best Chinese food I've had in Nashville by far! Line was quite long, but for price and quality I would say it's worth it :)

To me, this is the perfect order for 2: 2 orders of peanut butter dumplings (yes, you need your own because they're that good, and for optimal sauce dipping for your other dumplings too!!) and an order of steamed half chicken coriander half spicy pork dumplings. Definitely don't skip the drinks! I got the lychee dragonfruit tea and added in lychee popping boba this last time. Delish. I haven't been super impressed with some of the items aside from the dumplings - I wouldn't get the hot and sour soup again and could take or leave the cucumber salad. But the dumplings and the drinks alone easily make this place a 5/5. Some of the best dumplings I've had in Nashville!

Their combo prices are incredibly fair (around $20), and each one comes loaded with fresh veggies, ramen noodles, and fish balls. The sauce bar is next level too, with fresh cilantro and green onion, sesame sauce, and chili oil, all ready to be mixed to your taste. I'd definitely recommend dining in - we went in on a rainy Thursday around 6 and it was already packed, but a table for two opened within about five minutes. Service is great and food hits the table quickly. We started with the fresh rolls, chicken and cabbage dumplings, and the tom kha. We added a side of peanut sauce, which was a game changer for the fresh rolls. The tom kha was a little tart for my taste, but was loaded with veggies that were cooked perfectly. The dumplings were super tender, and the fresh rolls are my favorite in town! For entrees, we got the pad thai and pad see-ew with rice noodles. Both absolutely delish, and we loved how the pad see-ew was prepared simply and traditionally with Chinese broccoli. Those portions are not to be reckoned with... we ended up taking two boxes full of noodles home! Their sticky rice with mango was our favorite bite of the night. The rice was the PERFECT texture, in a not-too-sweet sauce, topped with toasted coconut, and the juiciest, sweetest mango. What a treat.

I have eaten Thai from Washington state to Florida and everything in between. I always get chicken pad Thai as a barometer to compare between restaurants. I can't believe it but the very best Thai restaurant I have experienced is in Frankfort Ky. I'm spoiled so even a "good" experience isn't going to rank as high. This is a really cute restaurant and from the parking lot I knew it was a local favorite. Chicken and cabbage dumplings were excellent. Pad Thai was good, as mentioned. The sauce wasn't very flavorful and while I like onions, this dish had A LOT. Red and green onion and not consistently chopped. The green onions were very large, fibrous pieces that were difficult to eat. I also like the egg component but this dish had a lot of egg and seemed to be a large filler. We also had the pad see ew with chicken. Also good, but not outstanding. The service was top notch and the restrooms were very clean.
