Came by here to check it out and see if I could order a 1/2 cow. Unfortunately they can't do that here. Ended up buying a couple of ribeye (which were WAY TOO EXPENSIVE), but wanted to see if their meat tasted any different. The steak were good, but for $30 a pound, not good enough! I doubt I'll be back. They certainly have a beautiful shop and some very nice stuff, but champagne prices for my beer budget! Check 'em out and judge for yourself!!!

Such an AMAZINGGGGG experience!!! All the guys working we're so knowledgeable about what they had in stock. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Such a cool hangout spot. They even have a big round table. You can grab a beer and hang out 1000/10 RECOMMEND!! Thank you soo sooo much! I can't wait to come back! Such good meat and great convo!

    The good stuff!!

Wow! We've purchased meats here before and we always buy something when we're in town, but not the smoked/cooked food, pulled pork and burger. But wow was I missing out! The burger was simple done right, proper meat flavor but exceptionally well smoked!!! Tender and certainly not a skimpy patty!! Smoked Wagyu Burger... You nailed it! As simple at that!! And the pulled Pork sandwich.... I eat at a lot of BBq joints around the country... this pulled pork sandwich now sets the bar! Flavor, tenderness color and presentation! Perfect! Tender chopped pork, full on smoked flavor and an honestly decent amount of pork on the sandwich. I'm a huge fan of the bark on BBq meats... If there were one thing I'd adjust... More bark. But since the rest was stupid crazy good, I'm overlooking my bark fetish :-) Was it a 5 star Michelin restaurant meat... nope.. it's not a restaurant! Wasn't expecting restaurant service... quality of meat yup! Nailed it!! These folks literally are smoking! And dang the pork was simply as good as it gets!!

Moved here two years ago from a rural area, honestly haven't had genuine quality customer service like I got today from Tommy in so long. I mean immediately on entry was greeted and given top notch customer service. Great ambiance as well.

Easily the best place to get meat in Murfreesboro. Locally owned with local products and a helpful staff. Prices are comparable to the corporate grocery stores but the quality is far superior. I love smoking BBQ and I've always found what I've needed at TN Meat Co. Plus, they have a great selection of local seasonings. Store is clean and well stocked with the smoker out front making everything smell amazing. I highly recommend TN Meat Co. and I'm glad they're in our neighborhood.

Oh wow! These people know what they're doing. This is by far the best butcher around. Great customer service, great products, great atmosphere...the total package. Their to-go items (smoked burgers etc) are to die for! Go here now.

Attended a class on preparing and smoking brisket sponsored by TN Meat Co. This event was more than I expected, I learned a lot, had an incredible time, and went home full. They had craft beers available along with homemade wines and cigars from Prohibition Home Brewing. There was a beautiful charcuterie board with delicious meats and cheeses, and Kyle cut up some smoked sausages for everyone to sample. Highly recommend the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage...a nice balance of rich pork flavors, a hint of heat, and a rich cheddar flavor really put this sausage over the top. BBQ Master Pudge Padgett and his smoker Medina from Old #9 BBQ were on hand to educate us on the finer points of preparing and producing great brisket. We got to learn about the smoker, heat distribution, prepping, seasoning, smoking, and carving. With a small class like this you had time for questions and discussions on different experiences preparing brisket. Everyone learned a lot and Pudge did a great job. After the class was done, Pudge and Kyle carved up a whole slab of brisket along with some delicious sides!!! The proof is in the meat...and Pudge Padgett knows his stuff producing some of the finest Texas style brisket you could ask for!!! Seriously...this brisket was perfectly smoked and both the lean and moist cuts were melted in your mouth. Many thanks to Andy Holms and Brian Eady, the owners of TN Meat Co. for sponsoring this event. These gentlemen went above and beyond, providing a great evening and learning experience. Props to Kyle Birchfield, he is an integral part of their team and is such a pleasure to talk to. Pudge Padgett can now add instructor to his resume, he did a great job sharing with us many of the finer points of smoking and preparing meats. Many of his tips will be really helpful to the "weekend smoker" to produce more consistent results. It was also great to meet and sample the wines from Prohibition Home Brewing. Jim, Jackson, and Michelle were wonderful hosts and their store can actually set you up with a home wine making kit!!! The Double Oak Red I sampled was delicious...surprising especially for such a young vintage. If you get the opportunity to sign up for one of their classes I highly recommend you take advantage of it.

The quality of everything they sell is top-notch, and it's become one of my favorite local spots for fresh meat. But this visit, I have to talk about the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Wow. It was one of those desserts that makes you stop talking after the first bite. The cobbler was warm, packed with sweet blueberries, and had the perfect buttery, crumbly topping. Paired with the cold, creamy vanilla ice cream melting into it, it was absolutely incredible. I honestly wasn't expecting to find one of my favorite desserts at a butcher shop, but here we are! The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions or make recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their products and the experience they provide. It's rare that I update a review, but this place earned it. Between the outstanding meats, excellent customer service, and now one of the best blueberry cobblers I've had, Light Hill Meats keeps giving me reasons to come back. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor--grab some meat for dinner and don't leave without trying the blueberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream. You can thank me later!

Nothing arrives looking like it spent twenty minutes being positioned with tweezers. It's meat, bread, potatoes, pickles and sauce--the sort of food that requires napkins and leaves evidence. The Reuben is borderline obscene. A heap of deeply colored, tender meat barely contained between aggressively toasted bread, melted cheese and pickles. It's messy. It falls apart. You stop caring almost immediately. The turkey club is the quieter surprise. Thick slices of actual turkey--not the sad, uniformly circular stuff that's been haunting office refrigerators since the Eisenhower administration--piled onto grilled bread with bacon, avocado and enough richness to make the whole thing work. Then there are the potatoes: thick, fried rounds with crisp, dark edges and soft centers, served without ceremony alongside ketchup and a creamy orange sauce. Simple food done properly. There's nowhere for bad technique to hide. And that's really the appeal of Main Street Meats. They're not trying to convince you that lunch needs a backstory. They butcher animals, understand meat, make sandwiches and appear to take all of it seriously without taking themselves too seriously. Michelin noticed the place. After eating here, it's not particularly difficult to understand why. Come hungry. Order too much. Get the Reuben. Wear a shirt you don't particularly care about.
