Everyone is nice. The guys in deli definitely know how to make a mean pizza. And their chicken tastes like it is cooked in clean oil.

The Butcher Block

My experience at The Butcher Block was incomparable to any other butcher shop I have ever visited…read more I wanted to purchase a 320 dry aged Rib-eye with no real knowledge on how to prepare it. For any of you who don't know, that is a very expensive steak!!!! Instead of just letting me buy it and making the profits, EM (the owner) came out to talk to me about how to properly cook the tasty meat. Once I realized I was in over my head, I changed my order to a fantastic Prime cut Rib-eye. Here is when the whole experience turned from great to ARE YOU SERIOUS GREAT!!! EM spoke with me for a coupe minutes on how she prepares her dry aged and after seeing how interested I was in her process she turns to one of her employees and says "Hey, Trim that dry aged Rib-eye up and let him have it on me" I couldn't believe my ears. Talk about a customer experience and a love for what you do. Most butcher shops I have been to expect you to know everything about the meat you are interested in and if you dont, they can be jerks about it. NOT EM!!!! She takes pride in what she does and is willing to have a conversation to help build your knowledge about the process and how to get the best taste out of her products. I Cant Say enough about The Butcher Block!!! If you haven't been, you have to go. Ill be back soon!!!!!

I visited the Carothers Pkwy 05-July-2024: 12:52pm…read more The customer service was slow. The entire staff was too busy to greet me the customer on a timed lunch schedule. It wasn't a welcoming atmosphere. I wanted to like the place but there was a missed opportunity.

Walkers Butcher Block

Walkers Butcher Block

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!!!!!!!…read more Now known as Walker's Butcher Block this place is immaculate. The inside has been completely renovated and their approach to processing game and running the business is exceptional. Older negative review should be completely disregarded and has a big game hunter who prefers to process 100% of his own harvest, I will be taking much of my game here in the future. At my request they deboned the meat and use no saws and cutting of steaks or bones so there is zero bone fragments or marrow on my elk. They trim the sinew perfectly and what I ended up with is even better that I have had done it myself. Those of us who know the flavor of the game is 90% related to how it's handled from the moment the harvest takes place until the minute it hits your dinner plate . Walkers butcher block (previously known as the Lebanon locker) has my complete trust now and actually saved my ass when I had to travel unexpectedly on the day I was going to process my own meat. They took in my beautiful idaho harvest (6x6) at the last minute and turned it around immediately. The price is reasonable but most importantly I have an entire freezer full of perfectly trimmed and packaged meat that's ready for my grill, broiler, or crockpot. another Wilson County family owned business that goes above and beyond and we need to patronize with our business ! 100% trusted and I'm telling all my hunting friends.. feel free to call Houston's in Mount Juliet for support of my recommendation. .
